  1. I'd love to draft a speedy guy in the third or later next draft to pair with Chuba. I think Chuba has the potential to be a Gus Edwards type member of a one two punch for us - potential to be a starter but thrives in a split carry role. I was impressed with Chuba's improvement last season, and even more so this year. He's really made the most out of his opportunities.
  2. That's where I'm at with it. It was a great drive to win the game and everyone contributed, not just Bryce, but he looked good on the one drive. I'm not ready to crown him our franchise savior yet, but I still haven't completely written him off like many already have. I would like to see him string a few scoring drives together, preferably in the same game. This team is such a dumpster fire I don't know where the blame starts and ends with Bryce, but he's the QB, the first overall pick, and we traded a ton away for the privilege to draft him. I was willing to give him to the middle of the year to see some improvement but none came. It'd be nice to see those improvements I wanted to see come in this last month of the season but I'm not holding my breath. I'm still willing to hold off my final judgments on the kid until next season, which I think is fair considering I gave Rhule a season and a half before I wanted his head, and Bryce is way more likeable.
  3. Frank Smith is someone who is on my radar, but I'm not entirely sure that he's the right fit for what we need. He is a hardworking guy that never forgot where he came from - Being a "walk-on from Wisconsin" is somethin he reminds himself of constantly in order to keep himself balanced and humble. By all accounts, he's a great guy and well respected by many throughout the league. Darren Waller greatly attributes his sobriety to being attainable thanks to Frank's help, which in itself is an amazing thing to say about anyone. However, like OP mentioned, he might be TOO nice for what we need. I'm not saying we need an asshole, but we need someone that has the testicular fortitude to stand up to Tepper when he's overstepping and say "You write the checks, I make the football moves." Is Smith that guy? I don't know. He might be too humble for us. I like that he comes from the dolphins who have a QB with a similar Skill set to our current rookie and run an offense that branches off the Shanahan tree. I like that he connects with players very well and is well respected across the NFL. I don't care that he doesn't call plays, if he's as smart as people think he is he shouldn't have trouble finding someone from SF or Miami to call plays for him. His background as an OL coach makes me think he actually cares about the trenches, and that's a great thing to be concerned about with our team. I think he has the better chance to succeed as a coach in a different spot.
  4. To be fair to Moore, the receivers have all been hurt, ekeler got hurt, and Herbert is now out for the year. Play design and calling hasnt been abysmal, it's been more related to talent and injuries, the chargers mainly suck because their defense is absolutely garbage. Moore isn't a bad OC. He's no Kyle shannahan savant, but he's not bad either. This is not me endorsing him for our next HC, just wanted to throw some context into the chargers backslide.
  5. He should probably retire. He's a walking football encyclopedia, I'd absolutely love to watch him do some sort of show on the NFL Network or something similar. When he's not being asked dumbass questions by the media, he has some great insight on all facets of the game if he breaks down film or is speaking about the game in general.
  6. That's why he wasn't the right fit. We needed a guy that would stand up and say "No", not good-natured sweet old man pastor Frank Reich.
  7. Honestly, that was a great watch. I'm all aboard the Cam for Team President and Greg for HC train. Get Luke for DC. Snag someone from the Shannahan tree to run the offense. Run back the good ol' days.
  8. I don't disagree, but he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. He may be a good coach in some way shape or form, but he isn't who we as the 2023/24 Panthers needed as a coach this year. We are so beyond broken as a franchise, we probably need a guy like Belichick or Harbaugh brought in to instill some semblance of a team culture because right now we have absolutely none.
  9. I'm just now sitting down to watch it and it's already hilarious. "I have never smoked marijuana a day in my life, but I carry it around and burn it, and breathe it in like incense to meditate with." Cam you Goober. That's just smoking weed with extra steps.
  10. I have zero opinion one way or the other. I anticipate whatever decision we make will be the worst possible one so I can no longer be hurt.
  11. If you plan on completely cleaning house then there will be no one to make any necessary moves to maintain the roster through the end of the season. At least that's what I hope the reasoning is.
  12. I haven't watched enough games this year to say one way or the other. Box Scores are saying he kind of sucks though. If he hasn't improved at all over the course of the season, that is concerning. No idea if he sucks and will always suck or what. The situation he was put in was bad. If he gets some stability in the coaching staff with cohesive thoughts from top to bottom it might help. It might not. We invested too much to throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet. We can't really move on from him next season, we'll have to see how well he plays in 2024-25 and reassess.
  13. Nah, I'm good. Enjoy yourself though.
  14. You get an offensive HC coach if you draft a young QB to help them get acclimated to the NFL. You go defensive HC if you have an established vet QB who is carrying the team on a yearly basis to help ease the burden.
  15. I'll bet money we're one of the first to hire someone because big daddy teppy made it rain on one of the dudes.
  16. Also, I'm numb to the dysfunction. Now I just think it's hilarious. If I didn't I'd just be sad.
  17. The only "Good" players on our team right now are Brown, Luvu, and Horn, and Horn is never healthy. That's it. That's the list. We are screwed for a while.
