Morgan wasn't my first choice, but we have to be careful assuming that all the mistakes were on Dan. He was just the assistant GM, after all. And we know Tepper was constantly forcing personnel moves so it's fair to wonder how many of those moves were even on Fitterer. If you look at Morgan's first offseason I feel like he's done a decent job. FINALLY got the OL built up and this draft class looks like our best in years, even if that isn't necessarily saying much given how awful we have drafted. It's not looking good on the field right now, but that's to be expected when you've had the worst owner in sports making mistake after mistake for years now. I'm not sure how much Morgan or Canales can really be blamed in the long run; especially Canales.

Player props as well. Just bet the over on rushing yards for every RB we face. Be careful on the passing yards for QBs, though. It's likely teams won't have to throw the ball against us after halftime much. Having said that, Chuba Hubbard has been a good bet as well for rush yards + TDs. He's by FAR our most consistent player.

Canales isn't the problem. I'm not sold he's part of the solution either, but he isn't the root of the problem. We're paying for 5 years of shitty ownership that has resulted in the worst roster in the NFL.

It's insane how so many in sports media - and some fans - are pushing Beck and Ewers as franchise QBs while nit-picking every reason in the world why Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward aren't. I think both Sanders and Ward have legit franchise QB potential; I wouldn't touch Beck before the 3rd round and Ewers before the 5th. It's as clear cut a case of QBs being propped up by the talent around them as I've seen. Sanders has Travis Hunter and that's it; Ward has a good team around him at Miami, but has proven at Washington State he can carry a team that's not stacked with talent. My top-5 QBs as of right now: 1. Shedeur Sanders (Top-10) 2. Cam Ward (Top-10) 3. Garrett Nussmeier (2nd-3rd round) 4. Jalen Milroe (2nd-3rd round) 5. Carson Beck (3rd round)

Josh Allen was a pure traits prospect; his play at Wyoming was awful at times. Not only does Cam Ward have the physical traits (though not on Allen's level) his production has FAR exceeded Allen's.
-
No, Cam Ward is actually FAR more NFL ready than Josh Allen was coming out.
-
Josh Allen turns it over a lot, too. Who among us wouldn't take him at QB in a heartbeat?
-
Absolutely. He's going to be a star in the NFL.

Bryson Daily is an interesting player. I can see him being a great NFL weapon for a team with a creative enough coach that can get him involved as a short-yardage specialist and gadget player.

Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right
Jay Roosevelt replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
HELL no. He's got baggage off the field and has become awful on it. Why would anyone want him at ANY price? -
In what strange parallel dimension is LB our biggest need

We let Luvu walk and Shaq got injured. Thankfully Wallace looks like a keeper, but we definitely need to address the position in the future. -

What Do You Think About Our Rookies Thus Far?

True, but you'd certainly take a young player putting up big tackles numbers in that case than having the same number of opportunities and not. -
What Do You Think About Our Rookies Thus Far?
Jay Roosevelt replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, this is probably our most promising rookie class through 6 weeks in years. That's not to say they've been incredible or anything, but there have been several regular contributors from the rookie class and we still have Jonathon Brooks to come who could be the best of the bunch. Low bar, yes, but I certainly prefer where this year's rookies are compared to the last several classes. -
I have no real issues with Canales so far. He made the correct call to bench Bryce early and the offense has been solid despite working in some young guys at WR and TE and having a past his prime QB in Dalton. The defense is what it is; that's a talent issue and I don't put that on Canales or Evero. If anyone deserves the blame it's Dan Morgan, but even then he made the right call to invest in the offense even if it has cost us on defense in the short-term. I'm certainly not ready to say Canales is THE guy, but I don't think he's a core part of the problem either. He's doing about as well as anyone could reasonably expect given what he has to work with. We'll see how that changes as we move forward.

Panthers vs Falcons Gameday Thread
Jay Roosevelt replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
It really isn't. The defense was great last year. We just have nobody worth a damn on the field between injuries and shitty drafting for the last 5 years. -
Panthers vs Falcons Gameday Thread

Well at least we're competing. That's a step up from the Reich era. I like what I see from XL and the OL, especially with the injuries up front. But yeah, the defense is ass cheeks. -
The hype said Alabama had the best OL in the country. I call bullshit. This line is trash. Also, hire a Pac 12 coach, get a Pac 12 defense.

Jayden Daniels utilizing tech to his advantage
Jay Roosevelt replied to Mills's topic in Carolina Panthers
Definitely useful for mental reps, but I do wonder if it can be expanded to be used alongside traditional practice reps. For example, the offensive players wear augmented reality VR goggles that show them what the defense is running, they run through the play, then try running it without the goggles and see if they made the correct reads. Or even have an AI-assisted VR app that gives them real time advice during a rep so they can practice making the correct reads/throws in different situations. The technology is probably a ways off from that kind of detail, but it's worth looking into, IMO. -
What's the deal with Taylor Moton? Is he out for an extended period?
