They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.

I agree with PFF almost entirely. I thought Mike Jack struggled yesterday. I think that injury hampered him. Offense in general was very solid. If bryce doesn't have that ridiculous fumble, he's probably a top 4 player for us. Legette was much better. Primary linebackers had good days. I think were a poor matchup defensively with the dolphins, so the way yesterday transpired really surprised me. Kudos to the players and coaches to adjust after a first quarter in which I thought Darren Waller may break records. If we can find a pass rush and some linebackers, I love the young group we have on both sides of the ball.

He was much better yesterday against the Dolphins. In fact I thought he had a very good game. Our LB's did a good job adjusting to the RPO stuff they ran early. But he's not the long term answer. He's been consistently poor in his short tenure here. If he runs off a few more solid games like Sunday, we can have a different conversation.

I think Dan has been really good in his role. The most important jobs a GM has are keeping the salary cap in order, and evaluating draft talent. I don't think he's done anything even remotely bad on either of those fronts. In fact I'd say those are his two biggest strengths. We love to fire people around here....

The fumbles are horrendous. I'll give any Bryce hater that. But outside the fumbles, I actually think he's been very much above average. Not sure you can find 15 guys in the league better than what we've gotten from Bryce. Especially if we can find a way to mitigate those fumbles. This fan base just polarizes on quarterbacks like none other. There were fans that wanted Cam gone during the MVP season. I think we all need to challenge ourselves to be realistic and open about Bryce. I'm a Bryce defender, but I have to admit he has physical limitations, and he goes dormant sometimes. I just think he's so much better than QB roulette. When he's not fumbling, we've played some good football.

It's a terrible situation. Not sure why Canales agreed to it. Unpopular take here, but not sure what Evero is supposed to do with XFL guys on that side of the ball. Jaycee and DB are two of the best players in football. Mike Jack has been really good at the other corner spot. The rest are some JAG's and guys that wouldn't be on other rosters. We have to have the worst ILB pairing in the league. Not sure Buddy Ryan would have success with these guys on the field.

If were going to restart....again.... I really hope Tepper hires some sort of a chief of football operations that he trusts. Somebody that is almost unfireable in their role. Some kind of owner liaison. Tepper has proven a complete inability to handle football ops. He has learned and gotten better, but it's still not working. The immediate name that comes to mind for me is Ron Rivera. He's in a similar role as GM at Cal right now. He knows this city, and he knows football and the pro game. I'm confident that Tepper has someone in Pittsburgh he would trust for this. I'm not sure our issues can be traced to any one thing or any one person (That doesn't own the team). Culturally, things aren't working. In my experience, it's hard to alter that unless you tear down the entire operation, root and stem. You can make an extremely valid excuse for nearly every single human that is deserving of accountability in our organization except the owner at this point. And that is a massive problem. You are what your record says you are, and under David Tepper, we've been the 2nd worst franchise in the NFL only to the New York Jets. That said, the more times we restart, the harder it is to get back to relevancy.

The only place to hurt him is his wallet, but unfortunately, with this being such a transplant city, I'm not sure we are capable of doing that. I think we are stuck with him. Tickets will always sell, and the NFL operates on a shared revenue model anyway. So even boycotting merch is not going to impact him at all. People would have to stop going to concerts and soccer for it to matter at all. And the soccer team is actually good. All that said, his net worth is so high, there is literally nothing we could do that would impact him financially. It would have to be ego/reputation based. Like wearing bags on our heads. Not sure he would even care about that though. If we could get enough panther fans in the stadium and get organized in embarrassing the guy, that would be the most impactful, but I just don't see that happening when the visiting team gets at least 40% of our tickets on any given sunday. And the owner has far more money than the 80K people in the stadium, even if you include the players. He is one of the wealthiest people on earth. were not hurting him really. We are basically stuck hoping that he becomes self aware. Someone above estimated that his net worth was 25% Panthers. I'm not sure that's close. I think the Panthers are something around 10% of his net worth. Edit: I don't mean to turn this conversation into something it's not, but the chances that he sells the team are so low, I actually think it would take some sort of political overthrow, or change in the structure of our entire economy and government for him to get rid of this thing willingly. And I'm not sure I'd call that willingly. Only way forward is to try to change the guy, either by showing how much the org means to people in this region, or by shame.

A lot of assumptions being thrown around in here. He hasn't played well. Impossible to say otherwise. But 15 targets in two games means he's shown something in practice. Trade value is at an all time low. Time to hold, and hope he can work it out. It's best for all of us if it does. Calling out the character and work ethic of a guy from behind a keyboard it is not really conducive to anything, especially when we truly don't have any facts here outside of his performance on the field.

We don't typically have a raucous crowd by any stretch of the imagination, but it was pretty solid on Sunday. I do think the next step for the franchise would be to prioritize selling out, winning, and having a raucous crowd once the product on the field improves. You look at places like Denver with a waiting list, and the ability to remove the license of fans that constantly sell their tickets on the aftermarket. That's how you create a culture. I don't think Tepper is concerned with selling out, winning or having a raucous crowd. I think he's concerned with dolla bills y'all.

Not sure evaluating per play averages after a very strange three game sample size is a great idea. It's like evaluate offensive baseballs stats after 28-29 games. Too early. Keeping in mind that we trailed for the entire cardinals game, and that falcons game, while I loved it, was never really contentious either, we have a very strange three game sample size for an NFL team.

Not to double post, but also if you thought Bryce wasn’t good today you need to stop evaluating football.

I don’t know how anybody looks at today and is not happy with Bryce. I think he had one, maybe two poor throws today.

How about cade mays? I thought he was better than corbett had been. how about the growth of Zavala? really good stuff from this group. They all do much better when we are running the football.

I mean, that’s one way to evaluate today. I think we’ve outscored opponents 50-7 over the last 6 quarters. We had some shockingly unfortunate bounces against the cards in the first half. Didn’t love everything I saw today but it’s hard to argue with the production we’re seeing in that small sample size. Jacksonville also looks pretty darn good through 3 games. Canales may not be it, bryce may not be it, but for the first time since David tepper came to town I think the trajectory is pointed up. Jaycee, DB and Tetaroia are legit stars. The last time we had a Legit star he wore 22. embrace progress. Enjoy the win. Touch some grass.

I do feel the need to say, he’s got 15 targets through two weeks. He’s surely showing something in practice to command volume like that. im not optimistic, but here’s hoping he gets it figured out.

He’s impossible to defend at this point. Even though I still try to do so. the toolbox of little things that wide receivers do to get an extra step here, or an edge in leverage on certain routes, he does none of it. He’s a project at best at this point.

Multiple things can be true. When Bryce panics, he’s not an NFL quarterback. When he doesn’t panic, he’s really good. He does panic far too often. His physical stature means he is more turnover prone. Today’s two are prime examples of that. That said, his ball placement with a clean pocket is unreal. He puts balls where only our guys can catch them often. i just think we don’t gain much by failing to play out the string with him. if he can work out the jitters, he’s really good. If he can’t, we will be drafting in a position to take his replacement. Making this entire discussion a bit mute. I mentioned to a friend of mine, but I have noticed, our offense seems to be terrible the first 10 or 15 plays of the game, which are typically scripted. Don’t know what that says, but Bryce has absolutely shined when he has more control of the offense in those quick 2 minute situations. my final thought on this, is we have invested in this offensive line to the point that they have to play better. I know we had some injuries but 35 yards rushing and the pass pro we saw today don’t get it done even if we had tom Brady.

Man I don’t think we are going to be particularly good, but this does feel like we have an actual NFL roster for the first time in a while.

When a player of this caliber comes available, they are rarely ever worth the price it takes to acquire them. He’s an incredible player, but I hope we tread lightly.

It's been a long time, but I think we are finally good enough to at least be average! Given the last few years, I'm absolutely thrilled with average.

I think the D-line is going to take a massive step forward. We lost an all-pro caliber player in the first half of the first game last year, and spent the rest of the year making XFL players play out of position. It's not a stretch to say that's one of the worst defenses in the history of the league. Anybody that was willing to run the ball could do so at will. I expect that D-line to be at a minimum below average this year, which would be a marked improvement over "worst of all time." We spent enough resources there that they should be pretty good. I am not dreading week 1. That's a nice feeling.

If either of those Rookie Edge players has a good year, we have a chance to be really good. Nobody we brought in is a world beater on defense, but we got a little better at nearly every spot.

I definitely get it. A lot better chance that those guys make the 53 than if they were in KC or Philly.

I don't understand the frustration. They stated a fact. The tournament was in Charlotte, and the Panthers are the local team. Our organization is more than welcome to function at a higher level and win more games if we don't like the negative press.
