Honest question. Ticketmaster reflects several tickets as "standard ticket" and others as "verified resale." With this many "standard tickets" available, does this mean it's not a sellout?

I agree. TD is a legend, but in a different way. If 89 was already retired I'd be all for it. I think he's going to have a tough row to hoe now, but I'd rather not get into that in this thread.

Time to retire #1 and #59, and def put them in the row of honor. In my opinion our only retired numbers so far should be: 1, 51, 59, and 90.

I see the strengths in Bryce's game on good days. I see the weaknesses on bad days. He definitely has too many bad days at the moment. But I think the long and the short of the argument is this: It's unquestionably the best thing for the franchise to give him the 5th year, and see what happens. We have to be able to use our available cap space on a position that is not quarterback if we want to be good next year. If Bryce can't do it with what we should be able to spend next year, you move on. I really think it's that simple. If he agrees to a contract that will allow us to continue to put really good pieces around him, on both sides of the ball, that's a different conversation too. I don't think anybody thinks he's worth top QB money right now. And I think he even knows that if he were to take top QB money somewhere else it wouldn't go well.

Not exactly apples to apples, but I do think the rebuild is ahead of schedule. We can almost treat this postseason like a bowl game. Get the experience. Learn. We don't have the horses, especially on defense to win the super bowl. You never know what can happen, so def don't squander the opportunity, or take it for granted, but I do think we can make this very productive by seeing how Sean McVay goes after us. I also think this is a really good look for us at offseason needs, and what it's going to take to get over the hump and join that next tier of teams, especially with our division looking pretty crowded. Boy would it be nice for Bryce to have a good ball game and shut up some haters.

I don't feel particularly good about this matchup, but I am very happy with this group. I did not expected to make the playoffs this year. The weather should be better than the previous matchup, and Sean McVay has better film to scheme with. That said, any given Sunday, and especially in the playoffs, anything can happen. We will need a lot of noise from the crowd, and a good game from the offensive and defensive lines, and hope for turnovers.

If somebody offers a 3rd or 4th for him, you accept it no matter what. That said, we got a similar pick for mingo, so who knows. He has a good relationship with the head coach at App state, who is a long time NFL guy, so they may find somebody who feels like they can work with him. I do think he can figure it out if he wants to, but it’s gonna take a lot of work on his part and will take a wake up call we haven’t been able to give him here. He’s just one of the most mentally absent players I’ve ever seen. I hate it, because I do think he’s a good person, and he still oozes talent. Kind of like Bryce playing better after throwing a pick, he doesn’t seem to play hard at all until he has a bad drop. hindsight, you can tell how our front office felt about him after a year taking T-Mac in the first. last crazy thought: I would actually be very interested in seeing him try to play a running back. Or a really athletic H back or something. I just don’t know if he has the mental capacity to play WR in the NFL. Think David Montgomery/Deebo/the way we used Curtis Samuel type role.

I guess I see the game similarly to PFF, because I was texting my GC all game long about how bad the TE's were. It's a massive hole on our roster. All three have had at least one game where they looked like a pro bowler, but the week to week has been really poor. Additionally, Corbett continues to struggle. He seems like a great dude, but I think that experiment has run its course. Ick with a really bad game, but he's been good this season. Defensively man, no pass rush and no ILB. The good news is the holes on our roster are clear and evident to everyone. I still hope we go BPA in the first. We're going to have to start paying some of our guys rather than free agents with the cap money.

For sure. and the announcers were talking constantly about what they were going to do with that snap of the ball, etc etc. That's one of the only plays you can run and have everybody close enough to the line of scrimmage to clock it quickly. Like I said, hats off to them. The saints are a well coached bunch.

I know the sneak can be more effective with a big quarterback, but that doesn't mean it's totally ineffective with a small one. That play for me has always been about the guards and centers getting a good push. We should be able to run it with a small quarterback.

The bucs struggles have definitely helped us. The only reason we are in the playoff conversation is because of how bad they've been. Wanting Canales out is an interesting opinion. Hard to look at this and think he hasn't done a good job. I do think he needs a really good offensive assistant he trusts. Someone that either specializes in managing games, or calling plays. I do think he has too much on his plate at times. He struggles sometimes with balancing both roles. I think Evero has done a great job. Everybody is going to complain, but we've done a poor job of roster building on that side of the ball. We have no pass rush, and no inside linebackers. That's a heck of a combo.

I thought the Lathan Ransom one was legit. It wasn't super late, and I'm not sure what Latham could have done, but that was an absolutely shocking time to call a QB draw, and kudos to them for thinking of that. I think it was the correct call, but I don't think we can really pile on Lathan Ransom. If we don't commit a penalty there, the clock probably runs out before they can clock it. The one they called on DB, I don't know what he could have done differently. He's a massive human to be stopping and changing direction that quickly. He was already in the process of delivering that hit when Shough started to slide. I love Bryce and I'm a big Bryce defender, but he's genuinely awful with this stuff. He does not hustle out of bounds, and he does not slide well. We never get these calls because he doesn't manage that part of the game well. I still think he's our franchise guy, but that's definitely an area for improvement. The rule is good and helps keep QB's on the field, but they need to start penalizing quarterbacks that take advantage of it, as Mahomes is known to do. That will get rid of the nonsense. I also think we need some sort of adjustment for the late slide. Maybe make it like the old facemask rule. The 5 yard and the 15 yard variety.

There is no reason to watch a game you believe to be rigged. I don't think it's rigged at all, I think we did a poor job yesterday. I don't like some rules, but I thought they were officiated to the standard in the rulebook.

The doom and gloom is crazy. Were still the team that beat the Packers and Rams. From the beginning this year, it's been obvious that Canales likes to shorten the game as much as possible, and play a more efficient game than our opponent. I do think this lined up perfectly with where we should have been with this rebuild. That said, the rebuild is ahead of schedule. That's a good thing. But we have to learn to keep the accelerator on against bad teams. Draining the clock helps us when the other team is better than us. When the other team is worse, the points are more valuable and putting the game away.

At the end of this season, we will have nobody to blame but ourselves. We have 7 losses. 4 to 4 of the best teams in football. That’s going to happen. 3 combined losses to the cards and saints is wuff. Gotta be better. Never know the day that you don’t meet the standard that could bite you in the ass. If we win even one of those games, we’re still in pole position.

I LOVE threads like this with different opinions and a topic we can actually discuss other than "The QB/HC/OC sux" so thank you! I do agree with your premise. The NFL is always changing, and defenses are having to find ways to adjust to these incredible offenses. I think talent on both sides of the ball is at an all time high, and the rules favor the offense more than ever. I think you're seeing multiple things. 1) QB has never been harder. The things QBs are now asked to do presnap are nothing like what they used to be. Offensive coordinators have gotten so good, and so creative. The best ones are the guys that can convey that to their QB and players better than the others. There's nobody in the NFL calling plays that doesn't understand offensive football, you just have guys that don't teach it well. Sean McVay really changed the way a lot of offenses run, and it's a copycat league, so most orgs have taken a lot of the nuance he brought to the game. Small things like intentionally sending the WR to the wrong side of the formation, and then running him back across presnap are now all over the league, nearly ever snap. It's motion without the motion. 2) Defenses have gotten so much more creative. It's insane to watch the things defenses do to disguise coverage now. If you don't disguise your coverages consistently now, you're going to get ripped apart. Almost every snap is reminiscent of the old "Radar" defense to me now. It's fascinating to watch. I also think you're seeing a lot of blown coverage as a result of this stuff, but we've always had blown coverage. 3) The WR and Corner talent is ridiculous. I don't think we've ever seen guys this big, this fast, or this strong playing WR or Corner ever. and some of them are all three! There are corners that you shouldn't throw the ball to their guy, period. There are WR that can win every matchup. There have always been some dominant guys, but I do think what we are seeing is special. Finally, the best QBs are always going to be able to figure it out. I think that's how you see the statistical outliers that we see sometimes in this data. Furthermore, I think it explains the mid career resurgence we see in so many guys this day and time. It takes a while to figure this stuff out. They do not run stuff this complicated on offense for sure in college, and most defenses don't do anything like we are seeing either.

I think head coaching in the NFL is learned. I think he responds to his mistakes. That's all we can really ask for.

I'm not even sure this is a debate. He's turned himself into one of the top LT's in football. Can't let him walk this early. His first 3 years, I thought he was a bust, so kudos to him for growing mentally, and physically. I'd call him a cornerstone of the franchise at this point. I anticipate having to take a RT replacement in a draft pretty soon.

That definitely the best home crowd at the bank since the return of Cam, but honestly it's been longer than that. That felt like the good ole days. I love bad weather games, because they are usually home crowd dominant, and everybody in the stadium is passionate. It was extremely loud yesterday. You could tell quite a few of those people were in no condition to drive home.

He won't win DPOY, but he's definitely a top 3 defensive player in the league. That's what dominance looks like.

I don't think the play calling is the issue. I don't think scheme is the issue. I'm not even sure what the proper term is, but I think our entire philosophy and approach to offensive football is what's killing us. We try to slow down the game so much, and limit possessions. I'm just not sure we have the personnel to do that. A few Facts: 1. Bryce is better when we are trailing late. 2. Bryce has a miraculous number of game winning drives. 3. Chuba has been much less effective this season. 4. Our record is almost entirely dependent on the coin toss. 5. Some games Bryce looks like Tom Brady throwing the deep ball, sometimes he looks like Oprah Winfrey throwing a deep ball. All these can be explained pretty simply with our offensive philosophy. Dave wants to slow the game down as much as humanly possible. This may be his philosophy as a coach, it may be due to his beliefs about the team, but it's clear that is his desire. It's a smart way to play football. The Eagles have won a lot of games doing this. I just don't think this team wins that way. Bryce seems to look like a world beater after we are trailing, or after he throws his novelty INT in the first half, but I think that's because once we abandon the philosophy of slowing the game down, Bryce is more comfortable. I don't know how many of you played sports, but baseball, football, whatever, you have to stay loose and stay warm. When we throw it short 15 times and then throw one deep ball, it's hard to be accurate. When we throw it 40 times with 7 deep balls, those 7 are very likely much more accurate than the one. It's not surprise that we have so many game winning drives, because we have so many opportunities for game winning drives. The shorter the game, in theory, the closer the game will be. In a game when both teams get 6 possessions, it's pretty reasonable to assume that it will be a close game. It's also reasonable to assume that we will have the ball with a chance to win in the 4th quarter. Chuba also seems to do well when we are spreading it out, and throwing it everywhere. Honestly, most running backs do. I don't think he's built to line up with 10 in the box and run it 35 times a game. Rico is much more that back. Chuba played at OK State in a spread system, and seems to have more success when we are doing that late in games, like Bryce. My last point is that our record is almost totally dependent on the coin toss. To win with limited possessions, you almost always have to win the "middle 8" of the game. When you lose the opening coin toss, it's harder to do that. We don't seem to be efficient enough on offense to overcome receiving the ball in the first half. I think the playcalling is fine. I think the scheme is fine. It's the philosophy that doesn't seem to be working, and why I do still think Bryce could have a lot of success somewhere else. If were going to play this way, we need an athletic quarterback, or an extremely accurate one, but playing this style of football is always going to hurt a QB's accuracy.

This post is not defending Bryce young, but I do want to be as fair as possible. Bryce's rookie year: Throw it out. Period. That was the most dysfunctional situation I've ever seen in the NFL. Not just for the rookie QB, but for everyone involved. Fairly certain we had coaches on staff that weren't speaking to one another by the end of that season. The hatred was real. That said, he (Bryce) still hasn't been good enough. I would love to see these numbers without that season. If anybody has a link for that, I'd appreciate it. Play calling. Canales has to make a decision about who we want to be. We jerk so much between trying to be a slow, methodical, efficient offense, and then going no huddle and throwing it all over the yard. I think part of the reason Bryce has the comebacks is because of course he's more consistent when we are throwing it all over the yard. I think he's better when we are throwing it all over the yard. But that doesn't seem to be what Canales wants to do. This hybrid may be a coaches dream, and guys like Brady may have been able to do it, but Bryce simply can't. Edit: This hybrid/indecision in the playcalling and scheme is literally the reason Bryce has so many game winning drives. We try to play slow, and methodical, and take the air out of the ball every single game, every single possession, until the time and score dictate that we can't. Sometimes it works, and we dominate. In most games, we get about 6 possessions, and so does the other team, and it comes down to who plays better in the 4th quarter. When it doesn't work at all, we are trailing late, and have to go all gas no breaks. When we slow the game down, it's more than likely going to be a one score affair. This is also part of why our record correlates so closely with whether or not we win the opening coin toss. It's almost impossible to win the way we are playing if you don't win the "middle eight." I'm just not sure Bryce is the guy for the system Canales appears to want to run. I'm honestly not sure Chuba is the back for it either.

The strength of the offense has been shortening games with the run game, and then being more efficient with our possessions than our opponents. I'm fine if we want to play like that, and I understand that it's going to limit the quarterback's numbers if we do. The Eagles have won a lot of games like that the last several years. That said, we can't do that and have turnovers. Whatever it takes to solve that problem, we need to get it done. I thought Bryce could have walked into the end zone on the first pick. I thought the officials missed a terrible DPI and/or DH on the second one. We also had some fumble issues last night. All that said, I feel like we have an excuse for this offense every time they don't succeed. And I'm just as guilty. But if we have to make an excuse for 15 different interceptions, at some point, were just being dumb and the excuses get tired. At some point, we have carved out an identity. We just have to be that identity. If we can't do that, we either have to change the personnel, or approach the game differently.

I don't think Canales is on the hot seat at all. We've seen substantial improvement in his time here. That said, the issues on offense are either Bryce or Canales, or both, and at some point, Tepp is going to have to pick a scape goat.
