  1. Looks like psychological fatigue from Tepper, and being forced to play a poor QB who can’t run a basic NFL offense.
  2. The way to beat Young is how I play defense as a noob in Madden: engage 8 and press.
  3. It feels like a lose-lose question: if he says he learned something, the media and fans will ask why he didn’t already know it. But if he says he learned nothing, we end up in the exact debate we’re having now.
  4. It's too early to consider moving on from Canales, but replacing Bryce is long overdue. Bryce believers say that he thrives in improvising, but so far we've seen nothing but disaster when he improvises (interceptions, fumbles). I think that's why Canales is telling him to stop playing hero ball. With that out the window, he doesn't have the skills or abilities to compensate. I like their madden analogy. It perfectly explains Bryce.
  5. to me, the second half of last season, post-benching. I thought he had turned the corner but it was just because we were out of playoff contention already at that point.
  6. Based on history I think this would push Bryce to play even more poorly as he doesn’t play well under pressure.
  7. 49er fans are insufferable...and now my wife is a bandwagon 49er AND Bryce fan (for no good reason) lol.
  8. I canceled Sunday Ticket after 10 years of faithfully following the team while living in California. A change at QB1 will probably be the only thing that will entice me to resub. Until then, I’ll just watch highlights to save my Sundays.
  9. but but Tepper sucks, Canales sucks, receivers can't get open or catch, o-line can't block, defense sucks, and the special teams sucks. A young QB can't thrive in those circumstances.
  10. At this rate I don't see Bryce remaining the starter the entire season. Canales, based on his play calling, has shown that he doesn't trust Bryce. I think he's tried to build off last year but Bryce regresses to his (sucky) baseline when pressure is on.
  11. Remember when the team sucked because we had Clausen, then we inserted Cam (along with a few other pieces) and the team instantly got better? I'd say we have a competitive team but QB1 is the achilles heel.
  12. If there's no hope in the season then there's at least some kind of hope in the draft.
  13. I’d say the majority of our players are content just coming to work, get paid, go home, and football is the least of their worries. They don’t have any aspirations to change the culture, to win, to revive a struggling team. Our guys aren’t hungry, or they’re hungry for the wrong things. If football is a team sport then every man has only been for himself since Tepper took over.
  14. Maybe behind closed doors, but speeches and motivation only goes so far. The person/player has to do something with it.
  15. The last time I heard of our HC having meetings with our owner, the HC got fired. Sad to say that Tepper is still pulling strings and Canales is just his puppet in keeping Bryce out there on the field. those runs on third and long spoke volumes to me, that he doesn’t have faith or believe in Bryce (Bryce has earned that distrust).
  16. Bryce usually follows up outlier games with his baseline type of games, and even last week he was just mediocre. I'm tired of having a QB that needs everyone to operate at 110% in order for him to operate at 60%.
  17. With Bryce we are vertically challenged. He can't challenge the field whatsoever.
  18. 28 unanswered points. Only way we’ll “come back” is if they go into prevent mode. Bryce isn’t going to lead a come back while under pressure.
  19. still better than XL
  20. …and will probably get left off the pro bowler list. SMH.
  21. sometimes, the fans are more entertaining than the team itself.
