  1. That 6-2 was built on a pillar of sand, requiring a Dallas meltdown, record field goal vs NY, and complete Eagles choke job to get there. That team was an extremely lucky 6-2 and the rest of the season thereafter was a more accurate representation, though a few breaks went against Carolina in those losses as well.
  2. He still failed to address the question in any way. Having guys that like each other and that 'fot the culture' is great and grand but doesn't amount to jack if the culture' doesn't equate to winning games... to date, Rhule has proven wholly ineffective in that key area. That's the litmus test.
  3. Sounds like a pretty rational take until proven otherwise. Been years of big talk... prove it. Words mean next to nothing at this point.
  4. Yup. He may not be worse at this point but he sure isn't any better.
  5. Sure would've been great to see Brady play LT for the last part of last year since that's his natural and best position. Alas though, in Rhule's infinite wisdom...
  6. It wouldn't have hurt but Denver had 194 total yards of offense. Their defense, Rivera and Shula's ineptitude, and the officials if you're so inclined to add them, won that game for them.
  7. Peyton's 13 of 23 for 141 yards and an interception were not the issue with that Super Bowl.
  8. I can believe that. Abdullah looked quite solid in his snaps and while I get the general idea behind keeping young RBs, I would have liked to see him stay around.
  9. If CMC goes down, from a single player standpoint Ameer Abdullah was a much better sub than Foreman would/will be. If Chuba learned how to catch during the offseason then that helps as well.
  10. This camera angle stuff is just utter trash. Might feel differently if they supplied actual football viewing angles with it but alas, the NFL seems determined not to.
  11. Jimmy Clausen catches a lot of flack amongst Panther fans but, while he was an objectively bad QB, the man handled the situational raw deal Carolina handed him with the utmost professionalism and deserves a ton of credit for that. There are a lot of similarities between their situations.
  12. One might say that it reached the played-out stage ahead of schedule.
  13. I figured they would appeal anything less than a season if only for the perception that they care.
  14. Corral wasn't the first one out there? Cut his ass now.
  15. Seems kind of inaccurate to have Hurts and Jones outside of the 'Too early' category but include the other first and second year QBs.
  16. Not all the time of course, but because there are plenty of times where he is just rambling and seems to be talking for the sake of talking. Examples like that interview where the interviewer asked him about the top 3 keys to 'the process' and he just spouted drivel, the end of season 'it's working, you just cam't see it' conference, etc. Belichick rarely, if ever, seems to say something pointless.
  17. I don't think Rhule does it on purpose though like Belichick does, at least not all the time.
  18. What a weird route and throw, slowed way down after beating Henderson and was looking back over the inside shoulder while running to the flag (ish).
  19. On the flip side, there is no clear evidence that such players are developing while there are guys that have not met expectations or even backslid; I mentioned them in a prior post, and while no team will have 100% development of hit on every guy the clear lack of it here stands out. It's not even an expectation that they're going to be All Pros right off the bat or turn into amazing players quickly, just that there is some clear and identifiable improvement on the field, and that simply hasn't been there compared to the guys that have pretty clearly not improved.
  20. Quoted you yourself and you didn't have to wait long, eh? Claiming that someone can develop NFL players is giving them credit for being NFL-level competent in that area, unless you're saying that you didn't mean to try to move the goalposts here and do actually believe that Rhule didn't have much to do with their development after all. And once again, both of the players (a whopping 2) were already on that trajectory before Rhule arrived and/or had large non-Rhule factors that they themselves cited as spurring their growth. Hell, Donte himself credits being a father with all of his maturity as opposed to being in the league: https://www.panthers.com/news/donte-jackson-learned-the-hard-way-now-he-teaches Just give it up. You have now spent several posts ducking my question about players developed solely under Rhule, instead sticking to only 2 players that very clearly don't appear to owe much to Rhule or his staff rather than giving actual examples of players that he or his staff have homegrown. Doubling down on the 'Top 5' nonsense is sad, as outside of the worthless yards per game statistic Carolina was outside of the top 10 in every other meaningful category. Perhaps this all changes this year, but until it shows on the field your claims are nonsensical.
  21. The defense is not top 5 in any actual regard, Shaq and Donte are performing as they did prior to Rhule arriving (backed up by the statistics), and you continue to fail to negate the confounding factors noted. Things like Donte maturing is pretty typical as someone goes from being a rookie to mid-career veteran and, frankly, Gilmore may have had way more impact than Rhule. Consider that in Jackson's interview about staying with Carolina, he mentioned Gilmore teaching him about being a corner (below): https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/donte-jackson-explains-why-he-gave-the-panthers-his-undivided-attention-in-free-agency In all fairness he does also mention the coaching staff in general being 'outstanding' but again, the credit to Gilmore is a confounding factor that make it a push at best; I'm not even excluding the possibility that Rhule and the staff have played a role, simply that it's impossible to know how much and therefore give the kind of credit that you're attempting to. Unfortunately, you're the one ignoring reality. You continue to ignore my question about definitive proof that Rhule is a developer based on players that haven't been coached elsewhere and/or players that have made large strides while on his team, further supporting that you have nothing concrete to stand on. We'll see what this year brings but there has been zilch the last two to indicate that Rhule is NFL caliber.
