Someone mentioned Darius Slayton in this or another thread. Based on his highlight reel, he looks like a decent replacement for DJ Moore. For RB depth, we could grab Rodriguez out of Kentucky (or a similar style rusher) in the later rounds to complement Sanders and Hubbard if we don’t bring Foreman back. UPDATE: Slayton reportedly signing with the Falcons. There goes that idea.
-
Yeah this one and DJax is on Fitt though I’m sure they were signed at Rhule’s insistence. Got to give credit to Tepper for finally recognizing Rhule was a mistake and proceeding accordingly. This has been the most intriguing offseason in years.

Panthers sign Bengals TE Hayden Hurst

And it’s just reported that Thomas has taken a pay cut. Go figure! -

It’s certainly possible but unlikely due to the cap hit. He’s also our best blocking TE which isn’t saying much. If we were able to get a better blocking TE in the draft e.g. that monster TE out of GA, then I’d certainly be comfortable bidding farewell to Thomas. -

I can see Tremble being used in a hybrid HB/TE role while Thomas and Hurst are used in 2TE sets. Ricci and Sullivan may be odd men out and fighting for a final spot. -
I’d consider TY Hilton before either of these two.

Read a report that KC is working out a deal with him. Can’t say I blame him if true.
-
I’m sure that’s a real possibility

This is an awesome family photo! Glad to have you back in the fold, Boze!

You’re probably right. I read somewhere that he was a 49ers fan growing up but I can’t confirm the source or hometown right now.

Good for him. Gets to play for his hometown team. Wish him the best as he returns home.

Confused Why Some Seem to Think We Got Fleeced
Prowler2k18 replied to Daddy_Uncle's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was probably the determining factor for us including DJ in the trade. Deals for Bozeman, Burns are looming and we need all the cap space we can get. Moore was likely the most valuable asset we had and adding him kept the compensation to the Bears doable for the 1st pick. -
Stafford’s recent injuries indicate he’s hitting the downside of his career which may explain the Rams’ potential interest in trading him. His salary will make this a prohibitive as well.
-
He’d be a great compliment to Burns. History with Ejiro is an advantage. May be tricky though since we’ll also need to extend Burns.
-
I’d rather have Leonard Floyd. Is he a FA?
-
I’d rather we wait and see what the Colts may do with Jonathan Taylor. An article a few weeks back (no link) expects them to try and trade him. He’d be worth a 3rd rounder at best and would add another strong runner to complement Hubbard if it happened. JMO

These interviews are making Rhule’s pressers an increasingly distant memory. Scott F referred to “a change in culture”, and you definitely get that sense from listening to him, Reich and other staffers. The future is indeed bright in Carolina!
-
These interviews have been awesome. Really shows the commitment from Tepper on down to build a perennial winner in Carolina. I’m absolutely here for it. And in the words of Lizzo, “it’s about damn time!”.
-
Same here. And JJ III has a background with our new DC and DB coach which gives us a player familiar with this 3-4 scheme. Makes sense all around.
-
Would be a great pickup as a true FS to complement Chinn. His versatility of playing in the box would give us flexibility in the backend.
-
After seeing what Mac Jones tried to do to multiple defensive players, including our own Brian Burns, a rougher the passer penalty in the “Kris Jenkins spleen crush hit” mode would be not only worth it but totally justified. Sorry I’m not usually this morbid but Jones is a total POS for dirty play. Should be putting that energy into becoming a better QB.
-
DreMont Jones? Absolutely! I’d pass on JuJu.
