  1. The oline last year ranked worse than cam’s average oline his entire career. So did the defense….the weapons? Arguably, smitty, Olsen…cmc is a split. One year cam had two 1k relievers including Olsen, and a 1k back had stew gained another 75 years to whatever. You guys get too caught up on weapons when you throw that term ‘team’ around. They don’t matter as much as you’d think ala 2015, and they certainly don’t make up an entire team. The oline matters so much more. Cam was failed mainly due to dinosaur coaching who had absolutely zero clue how to utilize a modern athlete and slightly due to an incompetent ownership/GM for the same reason.
  2. Rothlisburger was the first NFL player to be be penalized without being charged or arrested and the penalty was given shortly after charges were dropped/settled in 2010. Despite weird poo like the first victim bragging about sleeping with him a day after it happened. The second, didn’t want any charges brought after a settlement. I bring this up only because of similarities, not for argument sake. I also feel this is a similar situation yet a different environment. The me too movement…the fact Watson isn’t white etc. Lots to consider here before coming down with the hammer avoiding some sort social injustice outrage. That said, the NFL usually waits and this that is nothing new, as happened with Rothlisburger. Frankly it’s lazy, and a means to cover up facts. Use whatever is found publicly to fuel the penalty while at the same time ignore the details. Rothlisburger for instance, despite no charges and just settlements was penalized for conduct, nothing illegal. Just the fact he was drunk and irresponsible. Nothing regarding the actual alleged rape…because that’s obviously a lifetime ban from the NFL I’d think. Basically, let’s see what the money can cover up what and penalize accordingly.
  3. This can be locked. Sorry to the two posters, got a message before both the posts from a 2008 user (Jai.). Sorry!
  4. Guess the ticket sub forum is gone, hopefully I can just put these up and this can be locked after. 2 tickets together, 40-50 yard line club shade section 342 sent via Ticketmaster. I don’t even live in NC anymore - I bought them thinking my buddy would want them, he was too busy to get decent seats and turns out he can’t go anyways. Only thing left on ticketmaster is uppers so these are really nice seats. Would prefer to give to long term members who can actually go. I see some lame people scalping them already.
  5. Yes I have lived out west and east and west is basically set up for bikers all over including where I am at now, UT. The east however is not at all, as you said. The problem is roads just aren’t meant for bikes. It’s barley meant for motorcycles. I think people should stop trying to force this merging of the two. It’s dangerous, bike lanes or not, period. Where I live people are constantly biking in rush hour times on busy roads and highways. And not for transportation but for fun. No thought about it at all. And traffic rules often don’t apply to them simply because they’re on a bike, they seem to want everyone to yield to them no matter what the traffic rules are. It just doesn’t/can’t work safely on a busy roads full of cars. People get hit all the time. Bike paths for recreation and inner city transportation I can see some change needed there, but the changes need to cater to bikes…not trying to include them in with cars, makes no sense.
  6. unfortunately, what happened 6-11 years ago isn’t relevant to a thread based on last year. I think it make sense given the OP can find subjectiveness in cam’s 2020 year but doesn’t give Sam any slack and just posts stats, ones that have already been discussed at that. typical Cam bandwagon fan input. everyone on this forum is skeptical of Darnold. I have little faith in Darnold and personally would’ve taken a chance of Fields. But I’m not going to act like Sam had this great opportunity in NY and being the youngest QB to ever start in the NFL I’m certainley not going to fully judge until I see some play outside of that shithole. And calling another team a shithole as a Panther fan is (should be) extremely rare.
  7. don’t dare make a thread about Cam and statistics, then the OP will find a million reasons for it to be subjective all the while you’ll be a flaming racist
  8. Agreed. But the Panthers fail at all of it. Panthers overall hurries, 20th in the league, pressures a little better at 18, and yea sacks…22nd. Interceptions? 28th. Missed tackles…28th. People want to say the secondary is what cause all this but the run defense was one of the worst in the league. When that happens, teams will flourish in the passing game. What did the Panthers do well? Hit the QB slightly after throwing it. What’s happening? Pretty simple, short passing. Why the need to gain big chunks when you can just gain half a first down on average against the Panther by rushing? So the secondary fails because the dline fails at stopping the run, and the dline then is powerless against quick passes. Something has to give. I don’t care so much about an individual. But those numbers are god awful. Kings of the bottom 1/3rd of the NFL. It has to get better.
  9. Personally I’m more interested how Sam looks mid season. But fair weathered fans who don’t understand football will be livid I’m sure. The Jets have made some good moves this off-season that I really liked, especially the coaching. A loss won’t mean much. Our record after 8/9 games will matter more.
  10. No only that but had he and Paradis left next year our total investment in the line would be something like $15 million for the entire line and G little….even the Panthers can’t be that stupid. But they sure are skirting idiocy with their history attempting to fix this line.
  11. No designated hour lunch break and they don’t have fun? That’s his complaint? Its not about siding with owners it’s about living in the real world. Welcome to it. People are working twice as many hours with never time for family or lunch all year round for pennies. Get real. Sounds like they just take their poo seriously as they should as the amount of money on the line. And I’m just talking about Americans. It’s sorry how out of touch these athletes are with real life, but it explains a lot.
  12. I mean TB hasn’t played one snap of the 2021 season and no body seemed to want him and predicted he’d be bad without even seeing him practice this year. That logic is dumb. Jesus people sometimes it’s ok to be skeptical when players have been garbage their whole careers.
  13. Every super bowl contender in the last 20 years has had a top oline except 2-3 examples in which case had an outlier HOF/HOF season QB (both Mannings for example. Or in very rare examples, the oline went from crap (Giants) somehow transformed into elite from regular season to post. The only other consistent commonality is a top defense. That includes QB play (which is #3). According to history, you do in fact need a top oline even before elite QB play. Fact of the matter is - a team with elite lines/trenches will always be in the mix to compete in the playoffs despite the rest of the team.
  14. Uh, this is false. Do you guys even look into what you’re posting? Rivers, Rothlisburger, Dalton, Fitzpatrick, Foles, Tua, even Dwayne Haskins and a couple others… If we say at least 400 attempts (reasonable starter #), would just be Rivers and Rothlisburger and a tie with Burrow and only .03 seconds away from our very own TB. I don’t know where that whole ‘teams shoot for less that 2 seconds came from…literally not happened in history. The fastest in the league for 2020 is Ben at 2.3 and the rest are more toward 3. On a side note with 400 attempts, TB was the 4th fastest in the NFL. Two above him him had a top oline. Brady - 5, Rivera - 7. Ben really did some good stuff as his line was ranked right before TBs at 17. Should really think on that and how it relates to how atrocious an oline had to be to tank below average with a top 5 quickest release in the NFL.
  15. The facts need to be laid out for you? These players have a history and it’s not starting caliber compared to the rest of the NFL. Paradis will be gone next year and he and Miller did not play well, he played average. All spots on the line have a history of below average play except Moton. You’re saying get a group of below average players and a rookies together and assume they’ll gel all while fighting for the LT spot and all of a sudden they’ll become serviceable is more sweeping statement based on nothing that saying it appears based on their history of below average play their play will be below average.
  16. Does it matter? That hole will be there if he doesn’t plan to sign long term. And you’re talking a hole on a team that will not competing anytime soon. We could waste 30 million the next two years on a solid 1/5 player on the oline not competing anyways and then still have that hole. Or tag and trade and save that money at least one year and get a first pick. I’m looking more into the future. With Paradis gone next year, tagging Moton just to play in a irrelevant garbage pile won’t matter. This is of course based on the fact he does not want to sign long term here. Panthers tend to struggle historically getting anything for these guys, letting walk. However I’m on board with signing him long term.
  17. Unfortunately, all of this positivity comes with that Sam Darnold-shaped asterisk, because if he doesn’t work out this team’s ceiling will remain relatively limited, no matter what the cap or draft capital picture looks like. Not so sure. Building a solid team first, that will be attractive to a good QB prospect (FA or draft) is very valid for success. The Bucs, Chiefs, Broncos, Rams, Steelers will be one I believe…all went that route. A team isn’t just a QB. You don’t have to get one before building a good team.
  18. This oline isn’t Moton away from competing. If he isn’t signed to be here long term the Panthers need to trade him, preferably this year.
  19. This is of course the ultimate solution. But then there is in-market advertising. Someone on the west coast being advertised for east coast companies, events, what have you is moot. And money will be lost. Of course there is always the ability to localize commercials to some extent, but I’m not in broadcasting and have no clue how feasible that is for a network. I know there are apps that do it though. All said and done the NFL claims they want to reach as many fans as possible and then have turned around and alienated fans, it makes no sense. They see NFL as a whole, a product, and don’t distinguish the fact people are fans of teams, not the NFL in general. So their ideas based on profit is basically a kick in fans’, their own customer’s nuts. Just completely out of touch with their own product and how it works in relation to customers, not profit. There has to be a balance, and there hasn’t been since it’s existence. Because there doesn’t have to be. They make plenty of revenue without caring. Not many businesses can ignore fans like that and get away with it. So what would need to happen is someone, business minded, will actually have to care about the fans/customers. It just doesn’t happen. A good analogy is like wanting JR to put a Panther logo midfield. It never happened. Fans don’t run the business side of the NFL. Not me, but most people don’t even watch any game but their own team. And I’m sure a lot would pay just for their team’s games. /rant
  20. There’s levels. I always find those comments to be stupid. Like did you post that from your bike you built, in a library parking lot, using their WiFi on a device that was donated to you while eating a perfectly good meal from the trash? If not, you’re not saving money anywhere you can. I mean how far can you go with that? Everyone spends money on different things. Including kids. Or a spouse. Education. The key to wealth AND happiness is being smart and plan - know where to make the sacrifices and find the balance so you don’t turn poo miserable person. And if buying a things like direct tv or even a ticket to a game, destroys your whole possibility of wealth, it wasn’t there to begin with.
  21. I hope the Panthers have learned NOT to do that ala Norman and Peppers. Maybe BB. In that scenario (where he won’t be resigned and he isn’t the piece away from a SB and he has value) tagging and trading is much much more lucrative than having him play. I’d rather have a first round pick than a year of Moton. Hell we got a half of a season of a half assed Peppers when we could’ve easily had multiple first round picks. If he isn’t going to be here let’s get something out of it.
  22. I remember that game. That was a clean hit by Watt, his face mask hit cam’s shoulder as the first point of contact, head upright. And this is clear from the photo. They are PLENTY of cheap BS shots on Cam no doubt. However that shot and him trying to tackle the interceptor (reasons for his downfall) had nothing to do with missed calls. The bad calls, Riveras stubbornness and Hurneys/Get’s pathetic oline building ability really just unnecessarily added to the wear and tear.
  23. this guys is a troll, watch him disappear Yeab BB doesn’t think he’s abysmal enough for 5 mil while drafting a qb in the first, which I believe is the only time BB has ever done that in his career. back to cam’s comments about ‘commitment’ and being traded…means what? some sort of cam fanboy code? acting like this was least year, we’ve seen the results already…yea we know about the excuses, they’ve been on repeat for a decade…but the results. They weren’t good. It was a good move.
  24. So with Paradis and Moton gone next year what exactly is the Panthers total investment in an oline? Greg Little, a $2 bill and a bojangles sandwich? If Darnold doesn’t work out or gets injured due to this garbage, Rhule will have no choice but to draft the next poor soul lining up behind traffic cones. No legit QB is going to dumb enough to go for that.
  25. As someone living in SLC I was excited at the idea of a package to go see the Panthers first game. But for $799 no tickets? Not even a night at a hotel? Just ‘4-5 hours to rest’ and basically no sleep for 48 hours? What sort of shady con is this lmao Here is a lot better option: Round trip - $450 1 night - $150 Panther game - $100 Beer - $50 Uber - $50
