  1. It's almost as if their collective success there underscores how the people in charge here were unable to utilize their talents when they were with the Panthers. Nah. That couldn't be it.
  2. This is a good point. Regardless of who the coach is, there is no need to go out of your way to denigrate them. Firing them is enough. At the end of the day it's still just sports.
  3. I would say that if you're an owner, and you fire your head coach after 3 years of a 5 year top 10 pay contract, that's an implicit admission of a mistake. We're unlikely to ever get an explicit admission, but as others have said, I don't really care much about explicit admissions, for people in positions of power, that almost never happens. The implicit admission that would come with firing him is about all we could expect.
  4. I am unhappy with the lack of on field success or even clear direction of the franchise going forward. I blame the current head coach as the person most responsible for that outcome. Doing so is no comment on his worth as a human being or taste in ice cream flavors. (If you don't like butter pecan you're subhuman, end of story) I believe my position is based on evidence, not emotion, and is entirely rational. Prove me wrong.
  5. Realistically all it would take is an early season ending injury to Mayfield and 3-14 looks not only possible but likely. If more than 9 is possible, it's contingent on a lot of things breaking our way and the division being overall weak.
  6. *Looks up from his plans to superglue 4corners to the flagpole in front of B of A stadium and cover him in honey and birdseed.* I'm gonna need a ruling here.
  7. It speaks volumes to me that Tepper is supposedly interested in fan input about the team's corporate partnerships, yet has no interest in hearing our thoughts on issues far more pressing to most fans. "Yes Mr. Tepper, of course I'm not concerned about the state of the team's on field performance, it's relationship to state and local governments from whom it continues to extort and extract favorable tax exemptions not available to the average citizen or most businesses, your seeming eagerness to pursue acquiring a talented QB embroiled in scandal for appalling personal conduct, or pricing of Nachos at the stadium that implies you're using concession sales to fund a competing bid to colonize Mars. By all means, please ignore those considerations, but pretend you care about my opinion by asking me which giant corporations that spend as much time as you do trying to rip off the public I'd prefer to see associated in a non meaningful way with the team."
  8. Great story, great person, super easy to root for as a fan. With all the medical advances being made, it's only a matter of time before someone figures out how to transplant all the athletic talent from dbags like Watson into genuinely deserving gentlemen like this. Forget game suspensions asshole, we're going to take your talent and give it to a guy like Efe who deserves it. What? I can dream, can't I?
  9. That's great, maybe you could give me a break from the constant Proton VPN hijacks of the page? Seriously, they are super annoying as they involuntarily take me away from your site and in some cases like just a few minutes ago, interupt the post I was making and when I go back, everything I typed was lost. I get it that you need ads to support the site, but this specific thing is a huge negative to my experience here. Since you didn't ask.
  10. One of the weird things about sports marketing in general is that it's a super competitive field to get into, everybody wants to do it, but the competition is almost entirely about who you know and connections, not about any demonstrated smarts, creativity or ability in the field, so you often wind up with poo ideas like this peddled as genius, because everybody in the meeting is clueless and out of touch.
  11. Who was actually our third round pick iirc that I loved. Was shaking my head at the time as to why we let him go. To be fair, we drafted him in 2005 and didn't cut him til 2007, he then played for the Dolphins and Bengals before catching on with Philly in 2011, six years after being drafted, so it's likely a case of a guy taking a long time to master his craft. Still, it's a shame we didn't see the potential and stick with him. I guess the counterargument is for every Evan Mathis, there's a hundred guys who never figure it out. *pointedly does not look at every left tackle we've ever started since Gross not named Michael Oher.*
  12. Thread is about Daley. Multiple threads exist for discussing the Laviska trade. Sorry for assuming in a thread about a given trade you were talking about the trade that thread was about.
  13. I was talking about Daley. Daley has zero yards, unless you mean yards lost on sacks he gave up.
  14. If by "produced" you mean...inexplicably shoved into a role earned by default and which he promptly demonstrated he'd done nothing to earn... then yes.
  15. I am no one's alt. No one here can replicate my posting style.
  16. The difference is I said so at the time, feel free to look up my post history, and was widely criticized for it. I realize this is often true, yet so many here were sure TMJ represented such a can't miss prospect that it was worth overlooking our beyond obvious need at Oline. This isn't a "narrative". This is me making a point about a prior discussion.
  17. Yeah...not to say I told you so but... remember last year's draft when we drafted this guy and I said we should have drafted an Olineman instead and most people here gave me poo about it? Yeah.... Let's all take a moment and consider the Olinemen we could have had instead with the pick....
  18. I like this trade not because I know anything about this player but because his name definitely sounds something you would say to insult someone in Bulgarian. I may or may not yell his name at the ref's this season after a beer or ten.
  19. There is no reason both parts of your thread title can't be true.
