If we do miss out on Stroud and Young, I will pound the table to draft Will Anderson over Levis. QB is our biggest need but Levis hasn't shown me that he is that franchise guy. Anderson is supposed to be a generational talent, Julius Peppers 2.0 anyone?

So it's come to this huh? The panthers are so bad that the fire sale has also resulted in the Huddle being sold too. Do you have first round picks to trade? We won't accept anything less than 2 first round picks because the Huddle is considered a foundational piece of the Panthers franchise!

Welp… Stroud is the guy, right?

If this dude even makes it to pick #32, don't hesitate and draft him! People will forget who CMC is! Another name to keep an eye on is Gibbs from Alabama. -
Marshall faulk traded for a 2nd and fifth

True, they used a top 5 pick for James but those are different times. To be very honest in today's NFL, I don't know if any RB will make it to the Hall of fame based on how they are utilized and rotated in committees. The days of the bell cow RB are over. Name me a current RB in the NFL that is a lock for the HOF? -
Agreed, that's my exact point. If you really believe Hooker is an elite prospect then his age doesn't matter. Of course no one has a crystal ball and can predict the future. I think why Brady, Rodgers, and Brees have played so long is because they know how to protect themselves (make quick throws/decisions, avoid sacks, have a good O-line) and they have a good head coach that knows their strengths and weaknesses.
-
I don't understand all the negativity against Hooker's age. Sure, teams want young guys so they can develop and be good around age 25, but being older can also be an advantage as Hooker can be more mature and adapt faster to a grown man's game than a 21 year old. Rodgers, Brady, and Brees have played into their mid to late 40s with longevity in their careers. All that matters is if the prospect can be a franchise QB, who cares so much about age? Darnold is about the same age as Hooker and he's had 4 years in the NFL to prove that he is a bust.

Agreed, the point is that even though Faulk and CMC are great players, teams can replace them and still find great players. I just hope the Panthers FO can hit on these type of players. -

Faulk being traded did wonders for his career with the Rams. Colts also got a decent RB in Edgerrin James in the draft. Peyton Manning is what really defined the Colts. As long as the Panthers hit on a franchise QB, no one will really remember CMC. -

Give me that Robinson RB from Texas, he is apparently the second coming of Saquan Barkley. -
Here comes that 1st round pick everyone has been asking for! CMC doesn’t get a 1st BUT DJ does!
-
There are reports that Rams were very interested too but they lack the draft picks. CMC and the Shanahan family go way back to their days of Denver. I know CMC had some say in this, it’s essentially a dream come true for CMC.
-
He’s not gonna reach the hall of fame being here in Carolina! I’m sad to see him go but we don’t know everything behind the scenes, CMC going back to SF is not a coincidence, I think he may have asked for a trade. The dude did what is best for his career. He wasn’t going to be here regardless, might as well get something for him.
-
At the end of the day, I still blame Rhule for his toxic culture and losing ways! His hire has really set this franchise back almost a decade!
-
I’ve been keeping an eye on this years RB group and it a projected to be a deep class. CMC is still an elite player though.
-
Reports are that we get 2,3,4 round picks of this year and a 5 from next year
-
Not against trading him but I sure hope we got good compensation for an elite player!
-
Was he talking us or the Saints back then? I couldn't tell the difference.

Panthers "listening" on Shaq Thompson also
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shaqs production is replaceable. Trading him and Robbie make the most sense cap-wise and talent wise. -
Size didn't matter to Muggsey Bogues! If you can ball, you can ball!

Fitt deserves credit for putting this line together than. I have no doubt that if Fitt remains GM, he will do all in his power to get our franchise QB next year. I know he's gambled on the QB trades but I think Rhule has a lot more to do with it than Fitt. I don't believe Fitt would force a marriage of Baker with Rhule if Rhule didn't want it.
-
When you review Fitt's works as a GM, he has actively tried to fix all of the roster problems. He has drafted positions of need with relative success (Horn, Ickey), he has signed good O-line men, decent linebackers, etc. He has traded for CB help when we were thin. He's even tried to fix the QB position. Not all of his trades have worked out but he is ACTIVELY TRYING. I prefer a GM who is actively trying to fix issues instead of sit back and wait and be conservative. I think he deserves a chance to act on his own without Rhule.

This trade brings up a lot of questions about management. Is this a Wilks move or did Fitt do it? Who has the final say in these kind of moves?
