Are we now actively pulling for David Tepper to fail?
SOJA replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have become so disillusioned with tepper that I have literally zero hope we will be good again with him as the owner. He is too involved to ever have a stable, consistently winning organization. We may be an average team again, we might even make the playoffs one day, but to build an organization like the Ravens or Steelers who are consistently good teams and have sustained runs of success you have to have solid ownership. It's the literal bedrock which you build upon. I think our only hope is that he becomes so frustrated by people calling him out that he decides he'd rather retire in Miami and not have to listen to people constantly drag his name through the mud. The problem with that is, I truly don't think he cares what anyone else thinks. It's a hallmark of a narcissist. In his mind I think he keeps thinking that he is one next "big move" away from hitting the jackpot. It's ironic we play Washington this weekend but in his mind he will probably use their success this season to say "see all you need is Jaden Daniels." And then convince himself someone like Cam Ward is that person, who we will overdraft and yet again be stuck right where we are now. -
Jeremy Fowler: Panthers aren’t eager to trade Diontae Johnson
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would be trying like hell to resign him right now, but I bet his camp is wanting him to hit the open market this offseason. If he isn't going to re-sign no matter what we offer then it makes sense to trade him but the compensation is going to be bad -
yea his measurables are not great and while he's been better this year still does not look like a first round pick to me

If We Don't Win Another Game. Do We Make Any Trades??
SOJA replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
If someone bites on adam thielen I would. He won't be back next season and he's not helping us compete this year / taking away reps from XL and Mingo. I see Clowney being a popular trade deadline name I'd extend DJ and Horn right now if we could -
Also can we please get him off the sidebar on this website
-
I accepted it mainly this offseason going back and watching tape. It really hit home that first half in New Orleans. He just is shellshocked beyond repair and there wasn't much to work with from the jump anyway

Interesting thought is to absolutely tank your cap by taking on Desaun Watson's contract Cleveland gives us Watson and two first rounders for like a 7th round pick. Immediately cut watson We basically fug our cap for two years, but who cares. We aren't going to be good next year and maybe, maybe be turning the corner the year after. If all goes according to plan we enter 2027 with a bunch of cap space and tons of young talent (+ maybe a QB from the 2026) draft

I agree with everything but Daniel Jones. I'd honestly rather have Dalton than him
-
yea this would make sense esp if detroit gives up something legit given how close they are to a superbowl
-
I'm really not a huge fan of this class. Cam Ward is interesting but don't think he's worth a top 10 pick. Milroe is similar. If either of those guys were available in the second though I'd highly consider it
-
I'm so curious to see what he signs for this offseason. Very underrated player on the national stage
-
18 points, close
-
I see us either losing by 20 points or we win a very close game. I lean towards the former
-
Because they are desperate to move on from Jones and this QB draft sucks
-
Dead serious what do you think it would take Jax to trade Lawrence this offseason (I am not adovcating doing this) but with his contract and current level of play it might only be like a third or fourth rounder. Doesn't fit our timeline at all and we need picks but a team like the NYG might pull the trigger
-
This is a good point and something that has been discussed on the Athletic football podcast a few times. Right now it only makes sense to pay true game changers at QB: Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc. OR pay someone like Baker or Geno mid tier money. Yes you might not get top flight QB play with Baker or Geno each week but the alternative is overpaying for a Baker or Geno level player at max value. the other option is to just keep drafting QBs but this has a really high bust rate and it takes time to develop those guys
-
He has regressed so much. Hate it for him. He was such a good prospect. Jaguars are essentially in the same tier as the Panthers in terms of incompetency.

Just sitting here on a Sunday ruining my day thinking about how much I fuging hate David Tepper for ruining our franchise. Worst fuging trade of all time.
-
Not doubting you but you had Daniels over Caleb?
-
Truly can not wait until the Bryce young disaster is behind us
-
this is a good idea but I think the owners in Cleveland are delusional and still think Watson is going to work out for them
-
we desperately need him to pan out and be at least a serviceable LT, so I'm praying he continues to look not terrible. Thus far he has been better than last year but not great, I'l take that

Coaches Keep Dave, for at least two more seasons. By year three we should have enough data to say whether or not he is worth keeping. I have mixed emotions on him thus far. He's better than Rhule or Reich though. I think Evero is fine, wouldn't be surprised if we mutually part ways this offseason though. The O-line I'd draft a center this year if nothing else to develop. Otherwise keep as is. QB Keep Dalton, see if anyone is crazy enough to give up something for Bryce, if not keep him. Would not draft a QB this year in round 1. 2026 looks like a much better QB year. Tight End Keep Sanders and Tremble. Draft a TE next year WR I would extend DJ. I would not be opposed to using another high pick on WR, even in round 1. RB. Hubbard will likely be too expensive to keep but if he is reasonable try to resign him. Cut or trade Sanders. Defensively huge mess agree. DB and Horn are the only must keeps. Defensive Line Edge and NT are top priorities. We have ignored a true NT for too long. But we need to walk away from this offseason with a high pick at edge and another veteran as well. Keep Clowney. Would be happy if 3/4 top four picks are d ilne LB Jewell looks like he sucks, hopefully Wallace blossoms this year and can turn into a starter. Would definitely draft a guy this year as well CB extend Horn asap, he's only going to get more expensive. Could use another high pick at CB but defensive line is more pressing. Safety Keep Woods, don't love are our players here but we have too many other needs and safety is devalued now 2024 Trade Deadline. Trade AT if possible otherwise anyone is available for the right price. Do NOT trade future resources for players right now. We are not close to competing. 2025 offseason Sign an edge, likely sign a LB. If a decent TE is available I'd look there. 2025 Draft trade down trade down and trade down. Edge x 2, NT, LB, CB, TE, C and WR are all very legitimate arguments for draft needs. Lots and lots of holes. OUTLOOK we will not be competitive again next year. That's the curse of trading up for Bryce. The idea is to start putting together a team that is competent and has young depth while replenishing our draft stock. 2026 is the year when we can go get a rookie QB and try to change the trajectory of our franchise.
