The other option is to be patient and wait and see if a good HC gets canned from his current team. No way Minnesota fires KOC but let's say they have ANOTHER bad season next year. Maybe we could trade for him. I doubt it but at this point I really want someone with a proven track record of success.

great write up OP but this confirms but my suspicions that there are a TON of names on that list that either don't excite me or straight up terrify me Of all the options listed. Flores, Minter and maybe maybe Morton get me excited we've tried the college HC, we've tried the retread HC, we've tried the upcoming offensive mind. All of these can work but we've simply picked three bad options What we haven't tried is a culture setting CEO type like Dan Campbell. I believe Brian Flores can be that. He will need a good staff around him on offense but at minimum guys will play hard for him. The best success we've had under tepper was with Wilks, it wasn't always pretty but guys played hard and we were competitive. The same can not be said for any other stretch under him

Under the Hood: The Panthers' Unserious Operation (tAFS Video)

best football podcast there is, thanks for posting -
I guarantee at minimum we would have a good locker room culture and the guys would want to battle for him I don't think Luke wants that though. reading the tea leaves on almost every interview he's done since retiring is that I think he likes being retired and dabbling in his hobbies and doing the Panthers radio. I don't blame him, I'd be doing the exact same as him

Cam Ward's draft. I'm not getting into another last year debate on the huddle the last one cost me minutes of my life

When people are about to get fired, fingers start getting pointed both in the media and behind the scenes. -
do yourself a favor and do not look at the DJ johnson trade, nor who we drafted him over

Tankathon: Where we stand on draft position…..

someone will be available that no one anticipates right now. Geno was available last year for example -

yea as bad as we are I really don't think we will be worse than those three. Now that being said if the NYJ come to town and beat up on us and we drop one of the Saints games who knows -

Map/Mock-up the Panthers path out of the cellar
SOJA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
More than anything we need to become a serious football team again. I'm not saying we need to be contenders. But we need to be competing in nearly every game Right now we are the laughing stock and punching bag of the league -

Been mulling over this for a few days bear hands so as always good post First is i think we need to move on from Canales. My inclination is to hire Brian Flores as HC and see if Mike McDaniel would be available as OC. Although I could see both saying no thank you to David tepper Second is trading Bryce for whatever you can get. Third id sign a veteran QB this off-season. Nothing more than a 2 year deal. Maybe Justin Fields, maybe the Raiders move on from Geno Fourth I either take the best defensive player with our round 1 or ideally trade down for future draft capital Five FA I would target LB, a veteran WR 2/3, and FS Six as a gesture of goodwill to the fans and players reinstall grass at bank of america (he won't do this this) -
These guys nail the basics on Bryce/Canales/Carolina

Completely agree with your post however the conspiracy theorist in me thinks harbaugh was using his "interest in Carolina" as leverage to get a better contract from the chargers -
I think last year would like to have a word

Sellers is the most intriguing QB prospect to me. Has the tools to be a Josh Allen/Cam Newton type player but he's going to need some more time Dante Moore is another guy I'm watching. Mendoza should also be watched I am out on Manning, Allar, Beck and Nuss as of now though The other option is to just draft Bain from Miami and get our d line right and sign a veteran this off-season. justin fields will probably be available lol

Not trading Brian burns for two firsts and not immediately signing him was also a giant mistake that I'm SURE he played a role in

Bryce has been discussed so much it feels like shouting into a storm at this point but the bottom line is Bryce is not physically gifted enough to be a difference making QB (i.e. Allen, Lamar, Mahomes, etc). His best possible outcome is a high level game manager (Brock Purdy esque and yes Brock can make some throws Bryce can't) If Bryce does not have elite talent at the receiver position/o-line and has an average scheme/OC/HC, he will not succeed. Now ALL of that being said Bryce was part of the problem yesterday but he wasn't the ONLY problem. It is very reasonable to argue that because QB is the most important position on the field that Bryce is our number one problem rn. But the coaching is also a huge issue. This team is largely average to below average in terms of talent at nearly every position. I see three Pro Bowl caliber players on this roster right now, which simply put is not good enough. You want to improve this roster? I don't disagree QB could be upgraded, but in addition to that I believe we also need a new HC as well then and need a major injection of talent across the roster. Very, very hard to do all of that in one offseason
-
I actually think it behooves us to play Bryce the whole year. If he sucks you get a higher draft pick and even if you don't draft a QB and go the veteran route you can trade down or get bain from Miami or downs from Ohio st

I was more referring to Brian Burns having an excellent game Chicago winning (just hate them now) Atlanta looking better this week (if you still have a hope for playoffs lol) and basically nearly every other team in the league looking at least somewhat competent in their games besides us

we have a top down problem which started the minute he got hired. He has systematically dismantled this team piece by piece since arriving. He has destroyed the team culture, our reputation around the league, our stadium and even tried to remove traditions. His hirings have been nothing short of unmitigated disasters and those hirings have borrowed from the future time and time again to preserve their jobs in the short term. Not to mention the coaching and draft talent has been abysmal. We are rotten to the core right now and it will take another clean rebuild and years of time to get back to being competent. The problem is I don't trust him to do anything correctly anymore

this needs to be the pinned thread until he shows a modicum of competence
