He had Andrew Luck.

If we're playing this game: I think Richardson is the HR swing. I think Stroud is the line drive double.
-
Probably, but Richardson is the only one that excites me from this QB Draft class. It'll be telling if they arrange a post Pro Day meal or not with him.
-
Newton ran a completely different offence at Auburn, one that highlighted the absolute mismatch he was in the run game. Florida asked Richardson to drop back and read the coverage far more. I see why people lazily compare them, because they're both athletic freaks, but I think they're wildly different QBs.
-
Maybe it's because he was coached by Sunbelt Billy and surrounded by awful talent in Gainesville? I suspect that's why he bolted to the NFL after one season as the starter.
-
What makes you think he doesn't love film and / or football? With regards to the 'it' factor, Stroud is the one that worries me there. Absolutely stacked rosters the two years he started and zero big games won.
-
I actually think he gets someone fired on both ends of the spectrum. Either he blows up and the owner(s) of the teams that passed on him ask why their GM didn't take the next great, or he busts high and those same owners asked why they took him so high. I'm leaning towards him being great, but he needs to land in the right spot.

Which is crazy because they've traded away so much for the pick. I wouldn't be able to understand being so aggressive with the trade then taking the 'safest' pick.
-
I think that cost that channel a boatload of views. If it's in the can they should release it anyway.

Chinn confirms he'll be playing more LB (closer to the line)

He's always looked sensational when playing closer to the line - I thought we had a perennial All-Pro on our hands halfway through his rookie season. Hopefully the new DC unlocks his incredible talent again - even on that little highlights reel they put together on the segment you saw multiple sacks (and none of them were the back-to-back defensive TDs he had). He's just a playmaker closer to the line. -
So it's Anthony Richardson's Pro Day tomorrow (Thursday 30 March). I gather the Panthers contingent has flown out today from the NFL meetings in Phoenix to meet him for dinner this evening. What are we expecting from his Pro Day? What could he do to elevate himself into the conversation for #1 overall?

So basically we have no idea who will be drafted

It shows a lot of maturity for a 20 year old. -

You have the perfect staff for it - QB whisperer Reich, able backup Dalton (who can start until he's ready), long-time journeyman / defacto QB Coach McCown, and P. Manning's QB Coach Caldwell. They won't do it though - they're not brave enough. -

He's dropped that nickname on the back of the multiple, multiple school shootings in the US. -
I mean you get sacked either way. Rhule tried to build a roster and backdoor his way into a good QB (Bridgewater and Darnold, mainly) on the cheap. Reich has sold the farm for the #1 pick. Ultimately if he misses on that pick he's gone in 3 years.

Thursday. They fly in tomorrow from Phoenix for the meal.

It's basically Brady's NFL arm after he went through an NFL S&C programme. He can hit any throw on any level with excellent accuracy, but the ball doesn't explode out of his hand like it does Mahomes / Herbert et al.
-
No, but some people are acting like he's Mike Glennon.
-
I guess his worry is that as a running QB those are his prime years and he'd get stiffed at the back end of his career.

Peter King: Panthers have no interest in trading #1 pick
OldhamA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's basically only one team you can trade with, unless you really like Richardson, so this doesn't come as a surprise. -
Blink twice if you're being forced to read the threads.

I mean if you can't see the style / size comparison I don't know what to tell you. The big knocks on Young are a) his size (whether he can take NFL hits and see the middle of the field) b) whether his style of play flies in the NFL (he's not an elite athlete and we've seen it fail with Manziel, Mayfield and [to an extent, even though he's a much better athlete] Murray). If anything I have that reaction when anyone compares him to Mahomes.
