  1. You're hoping. JT even says he doesn't see Stroud demonstrating the playmaking ability you look for. He's shown he can do it, but it doesn't come naturally to him like it does Young.
  2. If you want to know how bad this WR market is - not a single one has signed in FA on day 1 with all these mammoth deals flying around.
  3. He definitely will have been consulted for a character reference.
  4. Having read all their fans wishing us an awful season next year I'm fully on board with my 'fug the Bears' stance.
  5. They're not intentionally tanking, they just have nothing at QB. We've put ourselves in the same situation, whilst also floating rumours that we'd happily trade Corral.
  6. Now we've got the worst WR room in the NFL.
  7. Too late - you need to get on it at 11 like Messi did.
  8. How do you know he doesn't have elite level processing? Everything I've seen / read suggests he's been developing his processing at the rate you'd expect a first year starter to do, looking much better as the season went on. Who does have elite processing in this Draft? Are you sure Stroud isn't simply a product of a system? Does Young not leave throws on the field? With regards to talent, Richardson is the tallest, heaviest, fastest QB with the best arm (in terms of how strength, if not accuracy) of the leading QB group.
  9. If the season started tomorrow, sure, but what about who's better 5 years from now?
  10. I don't think anyone can bitch about whoever we take considering 95% of you have lauded the trade up to get 'their' guy.
  11. I mean Burrow was a couple of years older, so take that with a grain of salt, but his stats blew Stroud's out of the water. 5,671 yards, 60 TDs, 6 INTs. vs 3,688 yards, 41 TDs, 6 INTs.
  12. If Young checked in at 6' at the Combine he'd be the #1 overall pick without question. Unfortunately for Bryce, he didn't.
  13. I think the pick will be Stroud because even though they've rolled the dice on #1 overall they'll now get conservative. He's the 'safest' pick in terms of he checks all the height / weight / arm talent boxes. The Goff comparisons are fair - if you put him in the right system with simple reads you know he's got the accuracy / arm strength to get the ball where it needs to go. It's whether he can mentally develop from there. Personally I'd continue to roll the dice and go Richardson. Make that QB whisperer earn his coin with the most talented QB in the Draft.
  14. We're agreeing with each other - this is weird. I see 3 possibilities at #1, but they all have flaws: Stroud - questions about whether he's a system QB and his ceiling Young - questions about his size (and for me whether he's maxed out) Richardson - questions about his accuracy and development, but with an unlimited ceiling And yes, I get the argument that if there was a generational prospect at #1 then the pick wouldn't be available. Unfortunately we've still paid the Bears like there's a generational prospect there.
  15. Nah, his footwork is questionable - so is his ability to see the middle of the field. He's likened to Mahomes because in College he played off the cuff too.
  16. Moore has 3 1k yard seasons with 'bad' QBs throwing the ball to him. It's baffling we've traded him away when we're about to get a 'good' QB.
  17. I mean you literally have to spend money on this class - we don't have any receivers in the building.
  18. I think it was a bad trade. If the guy we select isn't a quality starter for the next ten years then we'll go down as a cautionary tale.
  19. If you're playing a game tomorrow, sure, but the Draft is about the next 10 years. Richardson is raw and has limited experience starting, but he improved as the season went on (as you'd expect). He's all about projection - he's unbelievably athletic and clearly has the strongest arm of the group too. I do wonder if Young is maxed out - someone that's going to go down as a great College QB, but couldn't translate it into the pros due to his physical limitations. My problem with Stroud is that he's a system QB - every Ohio St QB has put up 'wow' numbers in that team (and the murderer's row of WRs he's had to throw to doesn't help evaluating him either!). There's nothing physically outstanding about him (he basically just checks boxes), so he's much harder to project as being elite at the next level.
  20. In his defence they all wore those - NOBULL (or whatever they're called) provided the gear for the players at the Combine this year.
