  1. But he's not smart enough to keep that opinion to himself and his immediate circle knowing the reactionary nature of sports fans? Makes sense.
  2. I usually throw myself into the Draft process so I'm much more bullish on propects. I haven't this year, for various reasons. That said I just don't get the Wilson hype. He has the potential to be very good, don't get me wrong, but the fact he was in a 3 way battle for his job in the Spring and was never named Captain is startling. As for his play on the field I think he runs a fine line between throwing up jump balls and putting the ball where it needs to be. I LOVED Mahomes coming out because whilst he played off the cuff like Wilson / had mechanics you wouldn't teach an 8 year old QB (both arm and footwork), he was DEADLY accurate with the ball. Wilson.... not so much for me - or maybe I'm just not seeing the genius.
  3. Herbert walked into a dream situation though - good Oline, throwing to Allen and Henry.
  4. Ideally I want my entire Oline to be wired that way. Weirdly you usually don't find LTs that play like that - they're usually more finesse players - but LG - RT I want guys there that want to bury defenders.
  5. I'm all for trading down from #8 if the right offer comes along. Both Sewell and Slater lack the physical dimensions you want to see from a LT - neither is long enough. The guys that DO have those dimensions are lacking elsewhere in their game, but I'd be willing to take that risk later in the Draft. I actually think Sewell eventually becomes a very good OG in the NFL btw, when he works out his technique.
  6. I'd honestly be incredibly tempted to take Fields if he was there at #8. For this very reason.
  7. And struggles with speed on the edge.
  8. The one I always loved was (in terms of it hitting hard right from the off like the glass shattering):
  9. I think they add up to the value of our third round pick this year, if I'm not mistaken.
  10. Oh boy, this kid is in for a shock in a few weeks time. When everyone else on the roster is killing themselves to get better and he's all "I could live without football". That's a bigger red flag than anything Jones / Fields / Wilson have done.
  11. It's a cliche at this point, but I want the best player available. The last thing I want, especially picking this high, is drafting a solid LT and passing up on an All Pro WR (for example). If they think Parsons is the next Derrick Brooks take him and sort the rest out later. It's rare that a need aligns with the BPA.
  12. I think they like both of them - I also think they tapped them up to get them in the building as early as possible with a bidding war. I'm sure they had an upper limit of what they were willing to pay them - why wait if you've identified two talented guys that you like? Neither one is being paid like a starter.
  13. I'd take an OT in the first and second round. Or better yet, trade down and draft Phillips, then take an OT and something else.
  14. There's simply no way the Front Office think they've addressed OLine with those two signings. They're quality depth players who are going to be given the opportunity to fight for a starting job. Otherwise Darnold is fuged.
  15. If you're willing to take Pitts at #8 you should be willing to take a WR at #8.
  16. He banked $20m last year and looks to do the same this - do you think he has any time to care about what we think about him!?
  17. Smith was cut because he was the alpha in the locker room and they were trying to pave the way for Newton. He wasn't the force he used to be, but he was still a damn good WR.
  18. They've done something we've never seen in Charlotte - filled the holes on the roster in FA so they can legitimately go out and take the BPA in the Draft. We'll see if they actually follow through with that later this month.
  19. Probably because they like him more than Fields / Lance.
