I think this is what it is. He's at the level of 3rd round pick, not a top 10 pick. I don't think we can count on CJ being a shutdown corner, at least this year which is obviously fine considering what we traded for him. I did have my hopes up that he could "replace" Horn asap and our defense not miss a beat. I don't blame anything in Dallas on him, btw. He was only in the system for a few days and I really don't blame him for not being up to speed. Which all of this is exactly what I was getting at in my original post. CJ's not a top 10 pick talent level right now, he's developmental.

You know I'm less concerned about Jackson and more questioning what does this move say about CJ? He was a top 10 pick a year ago and should be a high end CB within a few weeks in our system, just like Horn. I'm hoping this was just a good deal and not really reflective of anyone in particular on our roster.

We might do this. Rhule made a comment...stopped mid sentence...sounded like Chinn is moving to LB, at least while Shaq is out. Fitt made a comment about moving CBs around. Basically get great players and figure out where to use them later.

To me, if we win against the Eagles, Vikings, and Patriots, then we are a playoff team. Those teams should all be .500 teams by the end of the year I think. If we are better than that tier, then we are likely going to the playoffs. We go on a run the next few weeks, then I can see us finishing 10-12 wins.

I'm curious if they really feel like they are legit or if they are drinking their own koolaid. Dallas certainly changed my perspective a bit, and I've put the kool-aid down for now. I still think we can make a run at the playoffs, but I expect it to be a 1 and done deal. Great feeling to get to the post season, but not actually make any noise. Based on the Dallas game, we can't hang with the best if we can't play a complete game.

Patriots had $54,000 in cap space. They now have over 5 million. Gilmore was costing them $400,000 a week to sit on the bench. Beyond that, Gilmore lives in Rock Hill. From what I've seen hes ok playing out the year for us and negotiating after the year or looking at FA then. This is more of a prove it chance for him, while also being able to live at home. I think his agent wasn't seeing offers he wanted since hes been injured for a while now.

They are really pushing the Diggs shutdown Moore narrative

Darnold said he threw it a second too early. If he had waited one more second Robby would have been open. I saw the clip on twitter, and yeah he's right. It would have been a TD if he had waited one more second to throw, instead it went straight at the CB in the passing lane. -
Stephon Gilmore is about to be released by the Patriots!

I think they would rather sign the guys we have. It's more likely Donte gets paid over us paying a guy on the wrong side of 30. -

His play has dropped off some. He's still good, but I wouldn't call him elite anymore. As to Tampa, they just signed Sherman, yall think they would turn around and sign Gilmore too? I have no idea what Sherman got, but surely the Bucs don't have tons of cap with all the vets they have. -
Meanwhile, over at that other expansion team...

Supposedly these videos are from her phone. There is another pic with her head on his shoulder. Her name is Cayman Nebraska. -
Absolutely doable. The Vikings & the Eagles are probably both better than their record suggests though. Honestly, if we beat them and the Patriots, our team is likely very good and definitely a wildcard team and Dallas is a SB contender.

Y'all should click this and read the whole thread. -
Read the whole sentence, not just the first 3 words. Read it twice, it's not great structure.

13 days from injury to first day of practice. For reference, a week is 7 days.

I don't see any mention of Moore. Are there more tweets that aren't loading on my phone or something? -
I'm sorry but this isn't a winning record team.

Most reasonable post I have ever seen from you. -
It’s Official….Sam D was worth the trade.

Yeah his deep ball accuracy is poo. We left at least 2 TDs on the field because of overthrown balls. -
Nobody is that dumb.

This will probably be our toughest game so far, but they have some glaring weaknesses. This is very much a winnable game.

"a team that, while is 3-0, isn’t in the same class"
Luciu5 replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Eh. Here's the thing. NOBODY projected us to beat the Saints. We weren't suppose to. I understand though, things happened with the Saints. We still weren't picked to be winners. The Saints game, even amongst fans, was always kind of a tossup in the offseason. Nobody really knew what they would be like; what should be expected from Jameis. At any rate, whether we were SUPPOSED to be 3-0 or 2-1 isn't really the big thing here. We weren't SUPPOSED to be the #1 defense in the NFL. In fact we were projected to be 25th. We certainly weren't projected to be on a historic pace for yards allowed and rush yards allowed. The 2000 Ravens allowed 60 yards rushing per game. We're allowing 45 per game. No RB has rushed for more than 25 yards against us. Are those stats going to stay that impressive for 14 more games? No, of course not. But my point is, we weren't SUPPOSE to suffocate those teams. Yeah we beat who we were supposed to beat, but we've done so decidedly, so much so that we're the only NFL team this season who has never played from behind. As far as respect goes, if we are talking about from the media, that won't happen until we win consistently. It's not a one year thing (see 2015). It's a year after year we're in the playoff hunt. Nobody is going to put their reputation out there and say the Panthers are real contenders. Gotta prove it. -
No Respect for the Panthers - What Cowboys Fans are Saying

Burns and Reddick have had sacks in every single game, including against the Saints bookend pro bowler left and right tackles. We DOMINATED the Saints oline. I think you have a better oline so instead of 4 we'll have 3. Oh they are the only duo in the league with both having a sack every week btw. Also we have 17 players on our roster with QB hits. We have dominated lesser teams. It's what we were supposed to do. Y'all don't know what's coming your way. I'm not sure if it's funny or sad. I just hope your players think the same as you. The Saints did and they left that game much more humble after we curb stomped them. Nobody thought we'd win that game either after they destroyed GB. You really think y'all are going to put up triple our average pts allowed? The Saints put up 7 pts against compared to how many in their other games? You think you're the only explosive offense in the league? Win or lose tomorrow is going to be fun. Dak is getting hit early and often and just because of you, THAT is what I'll root for this game. -
You didn't mention the Saints and Winston. After crowning him week one with his 5 tds, the media had a field day on him after week 2....
-
This is the best part about our wins. When we win, our opponents get poo on. At least the disrespect gets shared.
-
There's a good video floating around here on our run defense. Has to do with how they line up and how they react to what the oline is doing. As far as I can tell, it's a combination of scheme and the players going all in, even CB's.
