DISCLAIMER: The following is mostly pipe dreaming. We could go into the last month at 12-1 and end the season 12-5. I do not think that will actually happen, but from where I'm sitting, I don't see a team between now and then where I would say we probably won't win. I see some difficult games, but ALL of them very winnable. We do not face a single super bowl contender (not the same as playoff contender) until those last 4 weeks. I think our defense is playing at a championship level, and that goes a long way to winning games against middle of the pack teams and wild card teams. Right now for me, the question is can we maintain this or will a team like Dallas or Arizona expose some weakness that I'm not seeing yet?

(PFF grades on a scale of 0-100, with higher grades indicating better play. PFF has explained its grades this way: 100-90 elite; 89-85 Pro Bowler; 84-70 starter; 69-60 backup; 59-0 replaceable -per Google search

You don't watch Rhule's press conferences do you?

I saw another article recently that showed Reddick would always key in on the QB when not going into coverage. It caused him to be beat during run plays but he would come through clean play action and bootleg passing plays. Not sure if that was by design or just him over eager to get to the QB, but I could see them using him or Burns as a QB spy.

I saw some show yesterday, can't recall which, but the guy on there also called our defensive a college defense and described the dline as "defense played like it's the offense." It was somewhat over my head, but it talked a lot about the dline shifts, stunts, and pulling like an oline would. It was complimentary for sure.

You can tell that first guy didn't see either game. The Jets, we certainly did not do as well as we should have, but we were in control the whole game. The Saints offense was simply dominated. They literally went 3 and out over and over again. At least he admits they'll still lose. Hopefully we go out there, punch them in the mouth, and blow them out bad.

This here is the truth. When we win consistently, playoff contender yearly, the media will rank us higher consistently and have more respect.
-
Not necessarily. It may just change the narrative around the Cowboys to "are they just a middling team?" Then it's just one middling team beating another. Not really anymore respect than what we are seeing now.

Speaking of forfeit, I am soooooo glad they did not have to forfeit against us. I know that wasn't going to happen but I know some folks around here were talking about it.
-
How are they unmasked one week but masked the next? I thought they had to have masks during interviews if unvacc'd or get fined?

There's always higher draft pick.

This is why the Falcons were smart and got themselves a TE. Because they knew they'd be back the next year to get their QB!

"Coaches coach, players play" They were missing a lot of their 1st string defense, but our defense doesn't play their defense. They were missing their Center on offensive, but Burns and Reddick don't line up in the middle.

I think Sean Payton and the Saints weren't ready for us. I watched bits of his post game presser and the Drew Brees take about the college defense. What I took from these things was simply they didn't see us coming. They saw a joke of a team. They underestimated us. I don't know if other teams will going forward, but I sure hope they do.

Hate to tell you this, but our D just exposed your O. The entire NFL has a blueprint on how to neutralize your entire offense. I don't think getting your center back is going to fix that.

Bah didn't see this posted already =/

It's possible, though Saints will likely be more difficult next time. How much so remains to be seen, but they were missing a ton of defensive players. I think our defense will still feast, but it will be a much tighter game I think. At this point I think 10-11 wins, which is a more than the 7-9 I was thinking before the season started. Our defense is 100% legit. Darnold is not garbage. I'm still doubtful that our offense is where it needs to be though and I think we lose at least 1 game that we should win. It all depends if this offense can improve week over week - and stay healthy.
