  1. I told my wife we play the Washington Football Team next week and she didn't believe they were called the Football Team. She asked what is their mascot, and I said a football, because I have no clue.
  2. They said Cam knew 15 plays after only 3 days. By Sunday he should be able to learn another 30 for 45 total. That's enough for most of a game. Let him play and hopefully we run the score up a bit and PJ plays 4th quarter garbage time.
  3. Idk with a 5th year option situation that is already fully guaranteed. Usually you would add years to the contract, making it $18 million for year 1 and $0 for years 2 and 3 (or any non-guaranteed money like Taysom Hill), then make some amount into bonus money which can then be spread out over the next 3 years. But with it being a 5th year option, I don't know if it can be manipulated the same way.
  4. Voidable years like we did when we signed Reddick. Reddick's on a two year deal but next year is voidable. In other words, part of his salary this year doesn't hit the cap till next year. I'd imagine Sam would have to agree to that. All sorts of accounting magic can be done. Darnolds cap hit is as inconsequential as the FO wants it to be. Personally I'd eat the cap this year and if we are going to kick anything down the road, do so with players actually on the roster.
  5. Idk what to think. Thought he was great last year. Thought his issues this year was due to his injury. I guess the new guy is doing good enough.
  6. You aren't this level headed when people are all in on burn the whole thing down and fire everybody. The optimists have every right to enjoy good times the way you enjoy failure.
  7. mostly that someone put us on a list like this. It's too soon, but I'll take it!
  8. We'll resign everyone we want to resign if we can get the prices we want. CMC will be restructured, Shaq, Moton, Robby, whoever as needed to make the room we need. I'm sold on the cap is a myth and this FO will make the space they need and keep who they want to keep. It probably won't be everyone, but I'd bet it's more than you'd expect.
  9. We are jumping the gun to think anyone's job is in jeopardy right now....
  10. Fantasy narratives being stated as FACTS is not healthy. Maybe Tepper dropped the hammer. Maybe Rhule sucked it up and said let's get the best QB available. Nobody here knows. It's not normal to be speaking with certainty and conviction on things that people know nothing about. It's just weird to me, it's impossible to fact check, and it's impossible to prove. It's just odd how people's headcanon is taken so easily as fact here.
  11. What do you mean? You don't want someone taking up a roster spot that is never going to play again. You have two options, cut or IR. IR leaves a door available for an offseason trade to recoup assets and cap - if possible. No reason to cut Darnold right now. And before anyone says anything about not getting anything for Sam, you might be right, but never forget Greg Little.
  12. No mention of Daquan Jones anywhere? He's actually a very important piece to our defense.
  13. Eh, Bradberry was still the right choice at the time. CB>LB. Full stop. It all worked out though in the long run.
  14. He was injured. Not sure what but he was in the weight room today and looked okay according to Rhule in today's presser.
  15. Yeah this is my thoughts exactly and really what I was getting at without putting my own opinion in there....Cam taking it upon himself to single handedly making sure it doesn't die.
  16. Yes I've heard of Keep Pounding. Wtf is wrong with you. I meant is Cam Newton ending every interview with Keep Pounding new because I don't recall that and I think he's trying to make a statement. Was my wording seriously that poor?
  17. I've seen 3 interviews now with Cam since joining the Panthers - his introductory press conference, post game on the field, and after the game press conference. In all three he ended the interview with "Keep Pounding". Is this new? Is he trying to make a point? Or has he always ended his interviews with that phrase?
  18. If you'd like to see it again. Also love the "1st down" gesture he did there. I know it's not unique to Cam Newton, but he sure did it consistently it always makes me think of him. Moore does it often as well, but not as cleanly as Cam does it.
  19. Wasn't he suppose to be Chinn-lite or something like that?
  20. Catsfan69 is the first person I ever put on ignore. No regrets.
  21. No, saw Chinn a lot. He wears 21. Noticed him on the field often. I literally never saw 9 on the field ever except the play he got hurt. Apparently I was overlooking him though which is a good thing because I couldn't think of a reason he'd not be playing.
  22. I saw the play where he may have injured his hand or wrist, but before that play I don't remember seeing him. Whenever I'd look for him, never saw his number. Saw Henderson played quite a bit. Was it me just overlooking him constantly or was he not out there most plays? I assume he did not play at all post injury, but I stopped looking for him after the injury.
  23. Dude is . I'm not gonna say best Panthers kicker ever yet. Gano definitely had his moments and same with Kasay. What a strange road to get to Zane though.
  24. This game was a lot like the Saints game; opponent missing key pieces, but also the media universally picked against us.
