  1. Steve Smith was the definition of sideshow. He decked his own teammates and got into onfield altercations with opponents with regularity. Compared to that celebrations should be nothing to be concerned about.
  2. Man you know this situation is dicey when we're rejoicing over picking up the Bengals oline scraps.
  3. Never said it made me happy or sad just pointing out a fact same as you relax
  4. Criticism happens to every coach across every sport on every team. Fans are fans it's a results driven business. Rarely are new head coaches given the reins to a franchise already in great shape. Yet the issue that has been a thorn in our side for many years remains. The oline. All that matters is which direction the team is trending by the end of the year.
  5. Looks great now but 17 million of that goes bye bye next year when the cap hits of our two highest contracts go up.
  6. Reading the final pages of this thread it's clear this man is hazardous to the mental health of some folks regardless of where they stand. Maaaan move tf on.
  7. This is malarkey. The criticism stems from going from that guy to Teddy two yards and only mustering a single divisional victory. If Rhule brings the wins there will be few if any complaints. But it's his show. Not Cam Newton's not Luke Kuechly's not any former Panther you want to drag into this. The buck stops with the head coach. Ask Ron Rivera. Rhule and Fitt need some success in a big way for '21. This oline better hold up.
  8. I will be surprised if we bring in anyone who is a significant upgrade over PJ. Rhule has made it clear he does not want his starter looking over his shoulder. For better or worse this is probably it other than a practice squad arm.
  9. Considering the player he is now the odds of that are low. Even so if the opportunity happened to arise the actual number of Panthers fans who would root against the Panthers would be minuscule. We really must move beyond this Cam fan silliness from all angles. He will retire a Carolina Panther eventually and that will be all that matters.
  10. We won't know the truth behind what went down between Bill and Tom for some years. But what we do know is Brady went from a depleted at best roster to an absolutely stacked team in the Bucs who retooled on top of it and have added even more this year after their title run. Yes he's the goat but he is not making chicken salad out of chicken poo by any means.
  11. Tell that to Tom Brady who hightailed it out of town when he saw the Patriots roster he was going to be working with in 2020.
  12. The Temple/Baylor connection isn't to the point that it is greatly concerning. But you also can't entirely dismiss it either due to the glaring failures of Carolina's last two head coaches whose own brand of loyalty and stubbornness ended up being their downfall despite being our two most notable hires in franchise history based on their success though limited it ultimately was. Matt Rhule has other attributes that make up for this and separate him so far. But this is a very important season and excuses for losing should be in short supply regardless.
  13. Wherever he goes they will either learn the hard way or limit his pass attempts as the season goes on. That's been the question all along. His arm hasn't lasted a full season since what 2017? But if Cam wants a shot at a starting gig covid protocols are going to limit his viability anywhere he goes with his current status.
  14. If you saw his passing numbers against the Giants this shouldn't be surprising at all. Jones may not pan out but when even he has a stronger arm what is there left to say? It's a shame. Looking forward to the day he comes home and retires a Panther.
  15. Worrying about players feelings instead of fielding the best possible team sounds like the same ol' Panthers to me. Hoping it works out.
  16. I guess for a sixth why not? I'm sure Dan Morgan has some familiarity and played a role in our interest in this move. Whatever happens our pass rush will be worth the watch.
  17. If his ceiling is Alex Smith I would say great we've finally solved the #2 QB dilemma now let's draft our franchise quarterback. The only goal is winning a championship.
  18. It's not about overvaluing Minshew it's more about the lack of confidence many fans have in the Panthers qb room overall outside Sam Darnold who is seeking to complete his first full season healthy behind a line that is a work in progress at best. If you don't want to be talking about the draft midway through the season then depth at the most important position will be a key focal point. But apparently we do not want to rock the boat or make Sam uncomfortable which is understandable but also has the potential to backfire. We'll see how it shakes out.
  19. Well that's why people have had concerns about shuffling the line so much over the last month plus. Good luck Sam!
  20. How quickly the Panthers shut that down tells me at least someone on their twenty something person media team scours these different popular social media pages regularly. Probably here too.
  21. If you look at average kicker salary Ryan Santoso is actually making slightly more than Slye was which is still bottom of the league. So I don't understand the anger like he was overpaid and overrated. We took a chance on youth and affordability. I wish the guy luck but this is a common story around the league maybe he'll get another chance somewhere else down the line.
  22. These Watson threads are like a meltdown tractor beam for some folks. Entertaining read on a Saturday morning.
  23. The two E's mostly got a lot of flack bc of their lack of availability which for a lineman is obviously key. But to see Paradis abused by backups that badly is very discouraging. I'll take whatever improvement we can find but from here it looks like C is a need in the next draft for sure.
  24. Conditional compensation based on how many games he plays is the only way a trade like this goes down the receiving team holds all leverage. But odds are this just another attempt to drum up clicks.
