Meh.

Good catch. I’m taking a vacation for that one.

Fair enough. You have those that play chess and those that play checkers. Meanwhile Tepper is playing Candyland.

Yeah at this point, they have already hired a coordinator for him. Plus next year my guess is a much smaller turnover at HC. Won’t be competing with as many teams. Somebody years ago, wrote an article and said owners start looking for head coaches the year before they fire them. They gauge their interest in the candidates and see how they do the following season. For some reason this keeps coming to mind when I think about us.

Albert Breer on the Panthers quarterback options
Cdparr7 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Invest in the OL and give the keys to Darnold. Rhule doesn’t need to hand pick anymore QBs. Give Darnold protection and let Rhule’s job depend on it- 107 replies

That’s how you become the Lions and why Stafford got out of there. Build the line, tweak the defense and draft a kid. You just have to have the coaching staff to do so. Watson behind this OL would slightly better than Cam and Darnold this season. Maybe a game or two better.

Did you miss the game last night? Where is SFs QB? Don’t have the money. Really don’t have the trade capital. Doubt we have his interest. Won’t allow us to fix the line.

Would Andrew Norwell be interested in coming back?
Cdparr7 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we draft an LT like Cross or Neal I imagine Christensen would be LG. Andrew could play RG. Would just have to find a C and would be a decent line. LT: Cross/Neal LG: Christensen C : Anyone not on this roster RG: Norwell RT: Moton -
What’s your pitch to Aaron Rodgers to come to Carolina
Cdparr7 replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
So we are gonna have around 28 million in cap before resigning anyone (Gilmore, Jackson, Reddick, etc) Set aside 10 million for draft picks thats 18 million left. So if he doesn’t mind playing for 18 million and having the same OL come on down bud. -
Why does David Tepper gravitate to NFL outsiders?
Cdparr7 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
There was an article from a while back talking about new owners taking a while to figure out the NFL. The Pegulas in Buffalo took a while to get Beane and McDermott. They had Marrone and Ryan. McNair took a while to get BOB after Capers and Kubiak. Kraft had Parcells leave on him and then had Pete Carrol in NE before getting Belichick. I think Tepper will eventually get it, may take another coach or two but he will get it eventually. -
“I think Garoppolo winds up in Washington or Carolina”
Cdparr7 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sure why not at this point, I’m just ready for the next guy to get here and fix everything already. -
I believe Mike Solari in Seattle worked with him as well when he was HC. I don’t think Mike would leave for that nor would I want him. I think Campen is the best choice. Flaherty is a disaster. Flores fired him during training camp for not being able to implement the new scheme in time. I don’t think Marrone would leave Alabama for this

Maybe if nothing else he can help us find a QB this year and the new coaching staff can develop him

Do the Panthers have the ugliest coaching staff in the NFL?
Cdparr7 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Phil Snow looks like he’s supposed to be in a nursing home but was drug to Charlotte against his will. -
CBS: Rhule keeping close eye on Michigan job, wanted Penn State
Cdparr7 replied to Kraybrothers's topic in Carolina Panthers
No he hasn’t been hired yet. Person or somebody reported that they were working on the contract details last night. -
Maybe we could get Bill Callahan or Doug Marrone for OL coach since there is a connection from both to Gruden
-
I could see that. I could also see us making a grab for Cousins since he has a history with Gruden too. I just don’t think we can afford him and fix the OL too.

Did Matt Rhule even really want to be coach of the Panthers?
Cdparr7 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve said this on here before and somebody always comes out with some article from 10 years ago saying this was Rhule’s goal. I don’t think so. It was rumored he was making 4-5 million at Baylor. He’s making 7-8 million now. Who wouldn’t take a job for that kind of money? I really think he’s soaking up what money he can while he’s in the NFL if he wins, he wins, if he don’t he don’t. I think he’s waiting for an opening with the right school to come up and if Tepper fires him next season he will have his pick of a number of colleges so he won’t be jobless. Also the contract isn’t as tight as everyone makes it out. The way I understand it, it’s 30 mil guaranteed. His salary counts towards that guaranteed. So if he makes 7.5. Per year he’s already at 15 and will be at 22.5 after year 3. -
