What's your big board looking like at #8 with the recent moves and news that the first 3 picks will be Lawrence, Wilson, and Jones? Do you have Fields and Lance at the top? Sewell or Slater ahead of either? Maybe secondary help in the form of Farley or Surtain II? What about grabbing a shiny new weapon in Pitts or a Bama WR?

The fact that he's paid at best 15th of all QBs iirc and the QBs making less are either rookies or strictly back-ups poos all over the "WE'RE PAYING HIM <INSERT TOTAL CONTRACT VALUE HERE>" Did he shake out? Nah, but nothing was ever built in a manner to fall apart if he didn't. Quite the opposite if anything.

Signing a veteran QB familiar with a new offense + staff during a restricted offseason to a team-friendly deal where he is never paid as a top half QB in the NFL is a good thing. Worst case scenario was that he declined (which he did) but the deal still allowed the team to wait on a QB while it addressed other areas of need (which, as we saw with Houston netting 4 wins this season despite Deshaun at QB, wasn't necessarily a bad thing). At worst, he'd start for one more (a.k.a. this) season and we'd have a more complete team to install a rookie or other veteran. Or maybe even package together some picks to move up and get that franchise passer. But hey, good on you for having to make a new account this month?

Are some folks really pretending that the 2010 season was a purposeful tank job by the team to secure the #1 overall pick after spending their first pick on a QB in 2009? They do remember the CBA negotiations, lockout, and JR being more concerned with his wallet than anything else... right?

Also threw 3 picks, got sacked 5 times. Not saying that he is that one game (and as @Mr. Scotpointed out, Northwestern was a test as well), but to imply that he didn't under perform at all just because they made it to the NCG isn't exactly being completely honest. Was it throughout the season? No, but even in his "good" games there's been a noticeable amount of streakiness and inconsistency. It's a fair criticism.

Maybe Darnold for a 4th, Minshew for one of the compensatory 6ths. Would rather grab a top prospect, a starter, and a prospect that could start after getting some reps in rounds 1, 2, and 3. Would also be super okay with picking up an extra 2nd round pick.

That Indiana game was pretty rough.

Really enjoying the buddy cop feel. Mackie & Stan have great chemistry and banter. Carl Lumbly gave me chills as Isaiah Bradley. The way he conveyed the trauma that his character endured through facial expressions alone was incredible. I'm wondering if the kid that answered the door was Eli/Patriot. With Wandavision having completed and introducing Wiccan + Wonder Man, that could be a possibility US Agent already shooting folks lmao. Interested to see how they handle Battlestar and if they'll allow him to shine at all. I know some folks get uncomfortable when it comes to racism, but that's unfortunately the reality of the history/current of America. The take on Flag-Smasher being a group caught me off guard, but I'm interested to see Karli's story as opposed to Karl (the original Flag-Smasher). Hopefully it's not just, "WE NEED MORE RESOURCES LIKE THANOS SAID HERP DERP"

I can't wait for April 29th. The team is either going to have a young QB that could be the future, or we're going to get to swim in the tears of all of these folks saying they're done with the Panthers if they don't change QBs this season. Either way, it'll be fun.

Only real concern I have with Teddy starting is whether or not he can complete a full 17-game season. He was physically struggling down the stretch to finish his first complete season as a starter since his injury (something he'd need a "hell of an offseason" to address). Would love to see Fields or Lance drop to to #8 so that they can sit and learn. If Teddy struggles again, they have the end of the season to get the rookie some reps.

So... Trey Lance, Dillon Radunz, Quinn Meinerz, Osa Odighizuwa, Tre McKitty, and then take a shot with the x3 6th round picks? I'm ok with this.

Good. The team "retooled" last year instead of flat out rebuilding, which ultimately set us back a year imo (especially when taking into consideration the limitations that were in place due to the pandemic). I can't tell if the idea that the team is a QB away from success is optimistic thinking or ignorance on display. If there are 4 - 5 QBs taken before the Panthers pick, that means the team gets a shot at a top LT, TE, or CB and another starter in the 2nd. I'm very happy with being able to come away with a QB, Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, Kyle Pitts, Patrick Surtain II, or Caleb Farley. There's a lot of really, really talented prospects in rounds 2 + 3, with round 4 being an opportunity to get somebody that slid. I wouldn't mind seeing Fitterer jump back into the first with our 2nd round pick to lock down another bonus year for a rookie contract, but I would really like to see if he can trade back at all and pick up an extra day 2 pick.
