  1. How is comparing Bryce's rookie year to Trevor's ROOKIE year where he had similar weapons and a bad scheme a bad thing to do? Because Bryce is shorter? That makes absolutely no sense
  2. Trevor had James Robinson who ran for over 1,000 yards the year prior and averaged 4.6 YPC Trevors rookie year. He didn't have a 33 year old Theilen he had Marvin Jones Jr., Chark, and Shenault. There is no way you can sit there and argue Trevor had less to work with than Bryce does currently. Trevor didn't have an OG that gave up 28 pressures in 2 weeks either. So the only reason Trevor was able to overcome the challenges of his rookie year is because he's 6' 5 220 pounds? How many 6'5+ QBs have busted out of the NFL over the years? No two situations in the NFL will EVER be identical. This comparison is to show you people that just because a highly drafted QB struggles his rookie year does not mean he is automatically a bust. Sometimes it takes time to develop. It takes time for the TEAM to develop around him. This isn't the only comparison that I can make it was just the most logical because of how similar the situations are for these two QBs in their rookie years.
  3. Trevor had Chark, Shenault and a bad Oline. Sound familiar? And as Trevor's environment improved from year 1 to year 2, he improved. Why can't the same be said for Bryce?
  4. This year is what year 3 for Lawrence? What does that have to do with anything I said? So Trevor was the victim of bad schemes his rookie year. Gotcha. The bad schemes made him miss wide open throws and the rookie mistakes you normally see from a QB. Gotcha. Trevor threw 1 TD pass the entire months of November and December that year too. But I'm sure that was all on the coaching staff and had absolutely nothing to do with being a rookie qb on a terrible team (similar to what Bryce Young is going through currently). Believe what you want but when Bryce does get it together towards the end of the season and into year 2 it is going to be great to hear the excuses you and everyone else who is bashing our rookie qb come up with as to why he's all of a sudden being successful.
  5. His OG got beaten 19 straight times. Kind of hard to throw down field when you have INTERIOR pressure almost every drop back
  6. There was most definitely questions surrounding whether he was going to translate into a good QB or not. He had a pretty rough rookie season going 3-14. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/4360310/type/nfl/year/2021 He had multiple games without a passing TD, a sub 60% completion % and 17 INTs to 12 TDs. The questions were definitely there. You don't have to have world class measurables to be a good QB in the NFL. Most guys just need time. In fact, I would say the majority of the NFL starters in today's NFL either had rough/incomplete rookie campaigns or sat for a year or more. Sure it sucks being in another "wasted" year where we'd probably be picking in the top 10 again if we had a 1st round pick. The fans have a right to be upset after what was seemingly promised a "playoff" season in year one but thats not how its worked out this far. Do we give up now after all the work that has been put in? I don't think so. I think we continue building this team and see what happens and hopefully they end up turning the corner. I truly believe that they will.
  7. There were plenty of people who thought he was going to be a bust after his rookie year.
  8. Would pie you multiple times if I could. Thank you for the write up. Bryce just needs more time, our offense needs more time. Unfortunately there is going to be some ugly football with such a young team. I would like to see Zavala get some more mental reps and maybe some spot duty before continuing to start him. I think that's what will happen when Corbett finally makes it back from injury
  9. Trevor Lawrence's rookie year is a much better comparison. He also had Chark and Shenault as his WRs that year too.
  10. Were the Jaguars saying that about Trevor Lawrence his rookie year? I doubt it. They went 3-14 and he had 9 games where he didn't throw a TD and only 2 games where he threw more than one. Could it be possible that Bryce Young just needs some time? Is it possible that not every young QB comes into the NFL ready to set the world on fire? Yes Stroud has been killing it. Would he be doing the same here with this system and staff? I doubt it. Oh and btw Trevor Lawrence's WRs that year? DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault. Sound familiar? Gotta give the kid some time. This offense/scheme/running game/O line/WRs/TEs have done Bryce absolutely no favors so far this year.
  11. Remember when Trevor Lawrence was a bust after his rookie year? They went 3-14 and he had a lot of very pedestrian games just like Bryce is currently having. One exception was his first game where he had 300 yards 3 tds and 3 int. It was his only 300 yard game of the year so it was more of an outlier for him. It was also only 1 of 2 games in which he threw more than 1 TD pass. The 2nd game being the last game of the season https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/4360310/type/nfl/year/2021 Obviously the main difference here is that his HC was fired after year 1 (could the same happen here? I doubt it). I really think they just need time. Let them (the team) take their lumps this year and hopefully next year we can have a similar year two that Jacksonville experienced with Trevor.
  12. At least Bryce looks better than Mac Jones. Sheesh
  13. Yea I'll unfortunately be taking another hiatus (whocaresamiright) as shitty as today was I by no means am sticking up for Bryce it's pretty inexcusable to not score a single TD today with all the opportunities we had. Ans as much as I'd like to stick around and discuss it. This place will be an insane asylum this week. Not worth sticking around for it.
  14. Bryce had 2 TD passes on that drive unfortunately they weren't caught
  15. Against one of the worst defenses in the NFL
  16. Boy you sure can fit a lot of dogs in that pie hole of yours. I'm sure the Texans locker room would love to have you as a fan!
  17. This thread will be one for the ages. Hopefully the mods will sticky this once CJ Stroud busts out of the league. If you guys want to be Stroud fans so bad by all means go hang out on the Texans message board I promise you you will not be missed
  18. If we're talking about just blocking alone Ickey didn't have THAT bad of a game. The 4 false starts or however many he had is what really tanked his grade
  19. To be fair...is that not what a "PG QB" should be doing? Get the ball to your playmakers and let them make plays. We just don't have anyone that's good at YAC. We had one of the best in DJ Moore but he's no longer here. Miamis offense is full of YAC players, they are out there and we need to put a few around Bryce. But like I've been saying it's hard to get things right after just one off-season. It can obviously be done but more often than not it takes a season or two for the vision to take shape. Hopefully we are much improved by seasons end going into next year.
  20. If you think Dalton would have had the same success against the Saints D idk really what else there is to say. Two totally different defenses playing two totally different schemes.
  21. Against the 31st ranked defense I'm sure they had a much easier time
  22. I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with all that man. Not that words are going to matter but some random dude in NW Indiana who hopes the Panthers can get their poo together just like you is praying for you and your family. I hope it gets better for you buddy and I know it's a hard/long road ahead but you gotta keep going.
  23. I understand. There's no guarantee we will ever have a winning season under Tepper and this certainly feels like another wasted season. It definitely sucks but I have not yet given up on Bryce. He has the talent. He's done SOME things that makes it look like he can play at this level, and it's yet to fully look like a complete disaster with him on the field (I know it hasn't looked good, either). If he works hard at his craft which I believe that he will he can be a quality QB for us. I still believe the sample size is way too short (no pun intended) to throw the towel in on his career/season. If we can develop Bryce into a competent QB by seasons end I don't really care what our W/L record is. HE has to develop and as long as that happens we aren't in too bad of shape. Regardless what the FO said or what the belief was surrounding this team it's HARD to do a full on regime/scheme change and have the right pieces in place in just one offseason. Not saying it can't be done because it has but more often than not it takes more than one season for a team to take shape of the current regime. We have like top 5 cap space next offseason we will be able to build around our young QB hopefully. He just has to develop throughout these next 14 games. I hope it happens or I will be joining you and the rest of the people by not supporting the team until there's yet another regime change.
