  1. I have checked out on them. This is season 29 and they have finished above .500, 7 times. The all time record is 30 games under .500. Never had a big time coach, 1 big time QB. The problem now, as has been said over and over, is at the top. I hate to say it, but there is really no hope in sight. A top 2 pick in 2024 that they don't get to make. They have had many bad seasons. I thought 2010 was bad, but we knew it was going to be. This season seems a lot worse because there seemed to be cause for optimism during the offseason. I hope I eat my words, but it seems like at least a 5 year project to even get competitive.
  2. Peyton Manning threw 3 picks and was sacked 4 times in his first start. He also threw 28 picks his rookie season and the Colts were 3-13. His second year the picks dropped to 15 and the Colts were 13-3. We all know how that career turned out. I'm not saying Bryce is going to be as good as Peyton, but the point is he's not a bust like some seem to think after one game. I don't understand why so many are turning on him after one game.
  3. That’s glorious! But it’s a 7 year process, so Huskers fans can’t expect him to turn it around until, what, 2030?
  4. No. I know its preseason, but he completed 44% of his passes. Lowest of any QB with at least 20 attempts. Not saying he can't eventually be pretty good, but I don't see another Cam. I think we picked the right QB.
  5. David Newton is the biggest clown to ever cover the Panthers. That’s saying a lot actually. The guy never writes anything of any value.
  6. Where can I watch this game? Blacked out on NFL Network
  7. Haven’t been this pumped for a season since 2016 when I thought they were going on a run. Not saying this is a Super Bowl team, but all of the off-season upgrades, especially to the coaching staff and QB, I can’t help but think this is the beginning of sustained success.
  8. I know it’s preseason but Tennessee’s defense sucks.
  9. Not too concerned if they win. Just want them to look competent and have no injuries. Of course I won't be mad if they win.
  10. Bought my tickets for that one today. That’s also when Moose and Pep go into the Ring of Honor.
  11. Thanks. I tried to post this in the Panthers forum, but couldn’t for some reason.
  12. Went down to camp today, I haven’t had a chance to go in a few years. I have a question just simply because I don’t know. Why do they practice on the field farthest from the hill? I’m sure it’s a simple answer but I’m curious. I couldn’t really see much of what was happening.
  13. He has the most punchable face. Always has that smirk. He’s a big douche, an overrated coach all around pri**. We don’t need to look too hard for reasons to pull against the Broncos. Between the Super Bowl loss(yes I still hold a grudge), Russell Wilson as their QB, who also has a punchable face, to this clown as their coach. 3 good reasons to me.
  14. Because Cowboys fans aren't the brightest.
  15. Going down August 5. Ready to see this new team.
  16. Coaching for a lunatic like Irsay can't be easy. We can criticize Tepper, and some of it is warranted, but I think the Matt Rhule debacle taught him a hard lesson. A big part of my optimism for this season has to do with the coaching staff. Reich did a great job of getting guys he wanted. I think it says a lot about the respect he has with other coaches, since Eviro interviewed for the HC position, but came in to be Reich's DC. It is a nice change to have legitimate football people instead of a used car salesman and a bunch of his cronies that were in over their heads.
  17. Perfect example of just because you were a great player doesn't mean you'll be great in the booth. Jonathan Vilma and Ronde Barber immediately come to mind.
  18. I hope somebody tells him to "get out of my f**king booth."
  19. For the most part, the national media latches onto certain teams. Not sure how Atlanta has more talent than the Panthers. The coaching staff here is certainly better. They never expect anything from the Panthers. I guess after the last few years, its wait and see. I like their chances based on the upgrades to the roster and staff. I would feel better if they got some depth in a few places, but I just don't see any team in the division being a lot better than the others.
  20. I don't usually pick individual games, because you neve know how good or bad other teams will be. I think they will win more than 7 games based on a much better coaching staff and better roster. That being said, with a new offense, new defense and a rookie QB, they will probably take some lumps until things settle in. I think the floor is 8 wins, the ceiling 11.
  21. I think two really underrated Panthers were Charles Johnson and Chris Gamble. Hard to argue your picks though.
