  1. Look it is what it is right now but at the time it was a good trade. You had a elite CB prospect that played under the worst coach in NFL history and we traded nothing for him. Thats good trade any day of the week. Darnold, the price was higher than I thought but getting a 24 year old QB that was graded as the top QB in that class coming from another terrible team is also not a bad swing. The chances of landing a starter with a 2, 3, 4 and 6 is very slim. We traded those assets for potentially franchise players. Are they playing like that? Obviously not, but if you never swing you never hit.
  2. I like this draft. I would be super happy with this.
  3. I like Fitt. I like that he is not complacent and doesn't sit on his hands. I think bringing in a GM after you hire a coach puts the GM into a bad position so Im excited to see what he can do with the role reversed. That said I do like some of the moves he made. - I liked that we took a swing at a 'potentially' top young QB in Darnold - I liked that he traded a low pick for a 1st round CB Those trades didnt net out, but they were low risk high reward moves. I would rather have a team that swings and misses than one that doesnt swing at all (Green Bay)
  4. Im not opposed to trading down. If we do that then I would like to see us bring in a vet QB to compete with Coral.
  5. Yeah Im not disagreeing with you. A 1st rounder and change is worth getting a verified HC. I would be pretty excited about the future of the team if we landed him.
  6. I was not saying that Steichen is equal to Payton, just saying we COULD get a good young coach without giving up draft capital.
  7. Im kind of getting excited about him as well. That said, is #9 to high, is there an option to trade back and still get him?
  8. Im having a hard time with this. A coach as good as Payton is worth a 1st round pick. But could we hire an equally capable coach (Steichen) without having to give up draft capital?
  9. I dont really care who or what we draft, I just want this new coach and Fitt to have a plan and stick to it. Rhule seemed to have a plan when he 1st came here, build the team then plunk in the QB. Then he seemed to panic and make swings that didnt make a lot of sense and his verbiage change to 'win now'. So I dont care if we trade down for future pick next year and run with whoever at QB this year OR we trade up and grab a QB but I just want the moves to make sense and to seemingly have a long term plan.
  10. Kellen Moore has never been on my radar but thinking about it, he has more OC coaching experience then some of the guys on this list, so his track record is longer and he is in a very high pressure environment. He would be an intriguing guy to bring in.
  11. Heh, I didn't explain myself. I don't hope that he actually hurts himself. I was meaning I hope that the team sits him next game as in he got a 'random' mid week injury.
  12. I'm ready to not win next week. DJ sitting helps that...
  13. No offense to DJ... But I hope he has a random knee injury next week
  14. Luke was never a 'stuffer' either. He never made they highlight tackles. TD is a top tier LB in the league on on a team that has had the very best LB's in the league for a long time. Listen to other teams talk about him, they give him far more respect than we do.
  15. I was thinking exactly this. When you get 8+ seasons out of a player you really cannot complain.
  16. Im married too, i get what your saying, ha! But I think that its pretty common that when OC's or DC's get hired away they take a lot of their support guys with them..
  17. Someone else mentioned it here but I think you absolutely need to hire an offensive guy for your head coach and roll the dice that he's a good leader. Even for this example if you hire coach that is not your offensive guy and hire a stud OC he just gets picked up by another team. I think for that reason alone this position regardless of who it is has to be and offensive guy
  18. ... so he lives in Regina - which is like the dirty hootch of Canada. You need better internet friends ha!
  19. Pretty sure players get media training. Also he's Canadian and Canadians tend to be more savvy and articulate
  20. I dont think cutting Cam was an issue. Remember Cam had 1 year left on his contract and was coming off an injured shoulder and a poor season. Reports were that Cam wanted a new contract. So with all of that I think the coaching staff had to go look for an alternative. Cam was never going to come back on a 1 year contract.
