  1. Im excited to have Burns back at a more natural position for him. I think he will EAT this coming season.
  2. I dont understand why people are so shocked by these numbers. It's 'next man up' when it comes to QB contracts. If you are a top 15 to 20 starter in this league that you will almost always get a MASSIVE contract. This not new but people react like this every offseason.
  3. Carr and a trade down actually makes a lot of sense.
  4. Its a tough call. Carr only costs cap.. If we trade up for a QB then we are trading years of resources.
  5. I think the biggest cheerleader to sign Carr is probably Coral. If we draft a QB then Corals career is virtually done as he will never get an opportunity. Carr allows him to be the developmental QB.
  6. Question about the minority draft picks for coaches/FO staff.. If Evero is hired to be a HC next year do we receive a comp pick for him?
  7. I think your completely right. I dont see us going to #1 but 100% we are moving up.
  8. Just finished listening to the press conference and I think we got the right guy. - I'm excited to be out of the funk of Rhule and the inevitable firing and team uncertainty - I'm excited that the team has an owner that will make the changes that need to be made. - I'm excited that we have a GM that doesn't sit on his hands. - I'm excited we brought in a HC with a vision and actual super bowl experience. - I'm excited to see how our team will rally behind our new QB - I'm excited to see how elite our defence can be when supported by a functioning offence. - I'm excited to see how our 2nd and 3rd year players will grow into significant pillars on the team for years to come. Its a new era. We shed the stink of Rhule. Lets get excited. ALLOW yourself to get excited. LFG
  9. probably true... but EVERYONE loved Jake..
  10. Unpopular opinion.... 1. Most players on our roster that other teams would consider good are considered trash on this board. 2. There is a small handful of posters on this board that are miserable and ruin the general experience for most. 3. We have a team that is in a good position to plunk in a QB and try to content. We are close. LFG!!
  11. I like Shaq. I hope we can find a way to restructure and keep him.
  12. Finally another voice of reason.. Hard to find on these threads
  13. I dont get why people are either all in on Wilks or all in on Reich.. Wilks did a good job given what he was given. Reich was not, not hired because he could no coach he was not hired because we need to fix the QB position and we need a guy that has experience doing that. Hiring Reich is not a knock on Wilks ability to coach, its just that it was not the fit we need at this time. Gosh some of you guys are like personally offended.
  14. Dude.. Rhule was not a good coach but there is a massive difference between what he did and what Meyer did.. Take off you rose coloured glasses.
  15. By the time we get to the draft we will know what CAR is going to do. If we go after a QB in FA then rookie QB is off the table. If we dont then you can be assured that we will go for one in the draft.
  16. Look it is what it is right now but at the time it was a good trade. You had a elite CB prospect that played under the worst coach in NFL history and we traded nothing for him. Thats good trade any day of the week. Darnold, the price was higher than I thought but getting a 24 year old QB that was graded as the top QB in that class coming from another terrible team is also not a bad swing. The chances of landing a starter with a 2, 3, 4 and 6 is very slim. We traded those assets for potentially franchise players. Are they playing like that? Obviously not, but if you never swing you never hit.
  17. I like this draft. I would be super happy with this.
  18. I like Fitt. I like that he is not complacent and doesn't sit on his hands. I think bringing in a GM after you hire a coach puts the GM into a bad position so Im excited to see what he can do with the role reversed. That said I do like some of the moves he made. - I liked that we took a swing at a 'potentially' top young QB in Darnold - I liked that he traded a low pick for a 1st round CB Those trades didnt net out, but they were low risk high reward moves. I would rather have a team that swings and misses than one that doesnt swing at all (Green Bay)
  19. Im not opposed to trading down. If we do that then I would like to see us bring in a vet QB to compete with Coral.
  20. Yeah Im not disagreeing with you. A 1st rounder and change is worth getting a verified HC. I would be pretty excited about the future of the team if we landed him.
  21. I was not saying that Steichen is equal to Payton, just saying we COULD get a good young coach without giving up draft capital.
  22. Im kind of getting excited about him as well. That said, is #9 to high, is there an option to trade back and still get him?
