  1. Me too. The Rams are likely to compete for a SB next year with Stafford instead of Goff.
  2. A trade post-June 1st = $4.3M dead cap for the next four seasons according to OTC
  3. And that's the other problem. If the team at #1 is sold on the guy, you're not gonna be able to trade for him. Just think of the trade haul it would take to get the Jags to even return a phone call on #1 overall.
  4. I don't think they need competition. The prize is worth the cost.
  5. That's a pipedream. He's a 25 year old MVP caliber QB. His trade value ain't gonna drop.
  6. It just baffles me how Hurney wasn't fired immediately upon a new owner putting pen to paper. I would've been on the phone with Marty while I was signing the paperwork.
  7. I don't think they'll have any issue getting a premium trade haul for him either way. But if they wait until after the draft they're going to forego the opportunity to secure a replacement and there's gonna be a lot of booing and probably some paper bags over heads at Texans' home games next year.
  8. If we were letting him go we should've embraced the tank mindset. Unfortunately, everything I said about Teddy and that signing proved spot on and I have no clue why anyone in the Panthers' organization expected anything other than exactly what we got.
  9. I agree. Can the Texans play hardball? Sure. But if Watson is determined to get out they're going to cost themselves a lot by doing so. It's gonna be harder for them to re-sign their own guys and target premium free agents. They're gonna become that team no one wants to go to and they'll have to significantly overpay to keep and attract talent.
  10. I didn't want an extension, but I did want to stick with Cam through the final year of his contract. Sure, Cam probably wanted an extension and for all I know may have had Marty tell him one was coming or at least had conversations about one but I think that was a bridge that could've been crossed. I just didn't understand jettisoning Cam and no guaranteed money beyond last year for Teddy and significant guaranteed money moving forward. That never made any sense at all to me.
  11. Honestly, that's the vibe I got from him. The ink on the papers wasn't even dry before Tepper started dropping hints that Cam may not be in the long-term plans.
  12. Yeah, if the rumors are true the Texans absolutely committed self inflicted wounds. You can't tell a guy he's going to be involved in something then shut him out of it and assume he's gonna be okay with that.
  13. I like Wilson a LOT, but I agree. I just give Wilson the nod because he's available now.
  14. That's the deal I keep coming back to. I'd live to keep CMC, but if we have to part with a star caliber player he's the one I'd part with and it has everything to do with positional value for me.
  15. I'm not sleeping on them. I like them. I just don't love them and I think they'll both be gone before #8 and I'm not feeling a trade up for one of them. Like I said, of we're gonna mortgage the franchise on a trade for a QB, I want Watson or Lance this year or just wait and take our shot next year. Unless we just absolutely fall in love with Fields or Lance in the pre-draft process, then go for it.
  16. If we put Teddy back out there we'll likely be drafting high again, like it or not. I'd rather mortgage the franchise for Howell than for Fields or Lance because honestly I think you're gonna have to trade up for one of them too.
  17. It's still too fresh. One day I'll be able to look back and enjoy it but right now it just hurts. We had the baddest motherfuger on the planet and we fuging squandered it.
  18. If we don't come out of this off-season with either Watson or Wilson, it's time to half-ass it for Howell.
  19. Dazz Newsome would be the UNC Samuel replacement. Dyami Brown is more of a Ted Ginn Jr. type.
  20. Teddy was ranked 12th in average time to throw. Basically barely faster than average. He was also the 12 most sacked QB, exactly what would be expected. He was sacked on 5.9% of his dropbacks which was 16th in the NFL, not far off from expectations. All indications are that our OL was pretty much average in terms of pass protection.
  21. I mean, the guy is 6'3". You don't exactly have to be a super athlete to be dunking a basketball at 17 and 6'3".
  22. If CMC is dealt in a package to get Watson then absolutely yes. If not, then absolutely no if he's going to command big money in FA.
  23. A good family friend is in his early 70s and heading down the road of dementia. He's basically drinking himself into a stupor on a daily basis and I honestly think it's to escape the dementia. Sometimes I wonder if he's literally trying to drink himself to death. It sucks to watch good people dealing with this poo. With Jackson's reported ongoing CTE symptoms he could've been in a similar situation.
  24. If there wasn't a Trevor Lawrence available Wilson would probably be the #1 overall pick, but teams aren't just looking at a player's ceiling they're also looking at the floor. IMO, Lawrence's floor is significantly higher. It's difficult to imagine Lawrence being a complete bust with his physical tools, consistency, and level of competition. Wilson has very intriguing physical tools, but he also has some injury history and hasn't played against top competition. It's a lot easier to envision Wilson being a bust than Lawrence and I say that as a guy who is high as a giraffe's ass on Wilson.
