  1. We are dominating but we also have to acknowledge that they're missing half their roster and coaching staff. We're simply doing what we should be doing given the situation.
  2. Yikes. Good job hanging onto that one, but might wanna fair catch those.
  3. The very universe is trying to force it. Don't fight it. Go with it.
  4. How are people trying to blame the kicker for that blocked kick? Two guys came through virtually untouched.
  5. Jackson held. Man, he's playing so much more physically this year.
  6. I don't have a problem with that miss. It was safe. If you're gonna miss there, err long.
  7. I'll take it, but man some of these penalities on hits today have been rough.
  8. What if Darnold gets hurt? I'll take Minshew > Walker all day everyday.
  9. Great half. This is what it's supposed to look like when your opponent is missing half their roster and coaching staff. Whatever. You play whoever shows up. Gotta capitalize when handed a gift and we got one today.
  10. It operates off of an arbitrary definition of a fairly vague term but you have to have firm definitions to create a data set. I don't have an issue with it. I suspect your issue with it is that it shoots big holes in your preconceived ideas.
  11. Kasay, but the data bears out that he sucked in the clutch too. And he did have the worst day for a kicker I've ever seen in the first Panthers game I attended live. We lost to the Eagles that day by 9 and Kasay left 10 on the field missing three FGs and an XP. We did go to the SB though... where as we all know he proceeded to miss the entire field.
  12. Go back. I linked it. Clutch kicks numbers from 1985 to 2019.
  13. Agreed. He's always gonna be one of those good backup/marginal starter types. You can still make a LOT of money being that though.
  14. Wait for it. There's a reason Elway always looked for a big armed QB and it wasn't just because he had a helluva arm himself. He played in Denver. He knows you have to be able to drive the ball through that cold wind. Early in the season it's usually quite pleasant playing conditions. That generally takes a considerable turn for the worst come November.
  15. Meh, I want to let him survive to take his drubbing when Teddy inevitably hits the wall again 5-6 games in. Then we can ban him. He'll hit the wall even harder in Denver. I've been to a LOT of games at Mile High. Way more at Mile High than at BOA. Post-Halloween there's almost always considerable wind. Those dying ducks won't come close to cutting it.
  16. Panthers fandom and baffling depth chart decisions have gone hand in hand for so long at this point I'm just numb to it. We sure are living dangerously on the OL considering three of our starters and a primary backup have all had considerable injury issues in recent years.
  17. Oh, they definitely have very significant resources. I'd have no desire to live in SoCal, but other than that USC is an ideal powerhouse coaching opportunity. An overall weak power five conference is a competitive advantage. Yes, that recruiting hot bed is very much an advantage. They've been down for several years so immediate expectations wouldn't be crushing. If say Nick Saban retired and you took the Bama job the expectation would be to compete for a national championship year one in a crowded conference. That wouldn't be the case at USC. Unless you're a total dumpster fire as long as it looks like you have the bus headed back in the right direction you're probably not going to have major expectations and potentially be facing the hot seat until year three. USC is an ideal situation IMO, with the one huge caveat being that I know absolutely nothing about the institution other than that it has supported a powerhouse football program in relatively recent years.
  18. Yeah, all but one season his team sucked. Par for the course. I'm not saying he's a bad overall kicker. He's a GREAT kicker on kicks that aren't clutch. He's one of the worst of the past three decades on kicks that are clutch. The data bears it out.
