Yea, didn’t know his own strength heh. That’s certainly a legit criticism of his throwing ability. Accuracy isn’t a legit criticism though.
-
Sure he lacked touch, I didn’t say anything about that

I think Mrs. Tepper hugging Young has been obscenely over exaggerated here. Jfc that doesn’t mean that she or her husband prefer Young at all, much less enough to try to influence his football guys to take him. Maybe she just got the impression he’s a hugger. Maybe they had just finished some deep insightful conversation and it seemed appropriate. Maybe she felt like since he looks like a little kid she should hug him like a little kid. This is a case of Occams Razor, if they take Young, it’s because the consensus among the football people was that he gives us the best chance to win.

Eh, Josh Allen was my favorite prospect in that draft so I researched him pretty well. He had a “low completion percentage” but his throws weren’t bad. He was just similar to Cam, bad system and no receivers. His throws were usually where they were supposed to be though.
-
I think he can definitely improve, but right now he throws more wild passes and simply off target stuff than just about any top candidate I’ve ever seen
-
Ok, The Golden Calf of Bristol might be worse. I’d still take Manziel as a passer over Scattershot Richardson.
-
He literally said Richardson is a better passer than Cam. Richardson might be the worst passer to go in the first round ever.
-
Brady never once had a receiving corps as bad as the one Cam took to the Super Bowl and won MVP with lol
-
I didn’t see someone say that, that’s obviously an exaggeration. He was a really good passer but not on the level with Brees, Rogers, Brady in terms of passing ability. I’ll say this, I’ll take Branch over any receiver Cam had outside of Smitty and maybe rookie DJ.
-
Plenty, plus arguably the greatest TE ever. A good TE is all we had after Smitty got dumped. Not to mention playcallers that didn’t eat glue.
-
Cam didn’t have accuracy issues, he maybe overthrew a tiny bit more than average, but he was excellent at deep balls, good at placement and overall accuracy. He just rarely had any receivers and a terrible OC that couldn’t scheme a receiver open if it was 11 on 7 for most of his career.

The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
JawnyBlaze replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s basically where I’m at, I think all things considered they’re pretty comparable, but the separators: throwing ability vs off script playmaking, I value throwing ability more. The size thing is mildly concerning, but not the difference maker to me. -
Well that’s just horse poo. He’s shorter, lighter and throws significantly worse.

Thomas Davis on Bryce Young and the Panthers Draft
JawnyBlaze replied to poundaway's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be clear, I’m less worried about his body deteriorating over the course of four or five years than I am of one vicious hit ending his career that wouldn’t have been as catastrophic on someone with more mass. Might never get hit like that, but he also might get hit and ended when the hit wouldn’t have ended someone else’s career. -

A) I didn’t say we shouldn’t draft him. I like Young, he’s my second favorite QB in this draft and the only other one is want at #1. B) the point I was referring to is that it doesn’t matter that big hits are down when a tiny person is more likely to be more greatly affected by a single vicious hit than an average size person. Therefore, it only takes one matters more when discussing a tiny person. -

It only takes once. -
Yea. The main criticism that I thought was important was how, yea he’s accurate, but he’s not super accurate. He’s better than average accurate but not great accurate. That’s one of the main things that gets glossed over, I’ve heard more than one person say he’s the most accurate with the best anticipation and things like that and that’s just wildly exaggerating. But still, great overall QB, and the video is 90% positive and I agree with most of it.
-
No, that’s Ricky’s thread with his collection of videos. If he wants to add this one in and mods close this one down that’s fine too.
-
It’s just more all encompassing instead of only focusing on his positives and only mentioning the size as a negative. Norris is 100% positive, but the other guy actually shows some of the negatives beyond just his size that I’d noticed in my research. Still very positive, but some stuff is brought up I haven’t seen many other analysts touch on.

This one wasn’t there and it’s new, so

Thomas Davis on Bryce Young and the Panthers Draft

“You can’t land hard hits on a QB anymore or it’s a penalty”….and yet those hits are still hard even when they’re penalized…still happens. -
The Underdog Football guys discuss Young. Good video that discusses a bit more of his traits than I’ve seen in other videos.
