Even though Brissett may know the offense he will not be any help in games under center. He's bad, really bad, PJ Walker bad.

Panthers met with Hooker per report
Jon Snow replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've seen both Hooker and McKee ranked higher that AR. I've seen Hooker ranked higher than Levis. This class is viewed differently than the media mouth breathers are predicting them to fall. I just cannot put any stock into who's going where this early. The underwear Olympics will have mock draft nuts throwing sh!t out there to get clicks. But until FA is over teams draft boards will not be set. -
Cool. Neither do you.

Do you have an example of a team only developing only one qb on their roster? Why would any team have more than one qb on the roster if the do not intend to develop them to be able to run the offense in the future or in case of emergency? You are not suggesting the they have only one qb on the roster that can run the offense?
-
Did you actually read what I posted? Did I say anything about splitting reps? You seem to think that they have to get the bulk of the reps in camp to be considered developing. That's not the only thing that is involved with developing a qb. The practice reps are to build chemistry with the rest of the offense if and when they have proved they've mastered everything about the offense.
-
You keep going back to Rhule. They will not just spend every class hour and practice only teaching one qb. That is developing them. The practice time with the ones will be determined by which one has the playbook down better and can run the offense with the one's. That person will get the bulk of the practices with the ones until they show that they are not going to cut it or someone else challenges them for the starting roll. They will not just stop developing the rest of the other qb's just because one eventually starts. This is not amateur hour like before.
-
This is not Rhules staff you're dealing with here. They will absolutely develop all of these young guys. Developing doesn't just involve taking up practice reps with the ones.

Coaching Staff: Final Pieces (as of 2-23-23)
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not really. We only have one TE to assess in Tremble. The rest are not worth even considering. -
How are these guys ready to start today? Did they magically absorb every playbook in the nfl just by thinking about it? Did they magically build chemistry with every wr in the league before they are even drafted? Are they going to do that in just one trying camp? The answer to all of the above is no. This isn't fantasy man. If you are going to proclaim something at least make it realistic.
-
And they will develop more than one. They are not going to bet everything on just one guy.
-
Had Atlanta taking the same lineman a couple of weeks ago. These mocks are only for fantasy football nerds because they are NEVER accurate. I really cannot understand why anyone would take them seriously.
-
Add the cost in there and ask them the same question. Jokes on you.

You are in for a very disappointing season if you are expecting that this upcoming season. Even Cam Newton could not do that his first season. Ironically a practice squad/nfl Europe qb we signed did. But I digress. My point being we will not start a rookie before he's ready and there is not one in the draft ready to anyway. So a vet it is for the time being. You might as well accept it.

Well this thread has gone off the rails.

Interesting.

I was trying to be nice.

He can't even take the Ravens to the SB. Just stop before you say something stupid.

If we had a coach and a qb we beat the handily.

PFF - What would it take for Panthers to trade up for #1 pick
Jon Snow replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You guys just don't get it. Any choice they make on a qb is a swing and a risk for the staff. This is their first time together and it sets the groundwork for the direction going forward. The options and opportunities are not ideal but they have to adapt to the situation if they are to continue this mad experiment. Any choice they decide to go with in a rookie qb is a swing regardless of round. It's a greater risk for the coach and his reputation but not so much for the team other than a wasted opportunity unless that swing is all you'll have for awhile. Going with a vet is a risk and a swing as well because they would be giving it one last bid for the vet qb with a proven veteran staff to make a run while developing a replacement assuming they have one. It's a greater risk for the coach and possibly the team if the cost for the vet is crippling in the future. Any direction they end up going is one big swing at something that inevitably will not be good enough for the majority of this forum. It will be thoroughly entertaining. -
I was calling him out for being afraid of Lamar going to Atlanta. He thinks we should sign him because they want Lamar and will crush us with him.
-
If you're scared mf go to church.
-
The market is what a team is willing to pay for that specific player. It doesn't mean that every FA qb that comes after is worth that much. They may think they are as Lamar is about to find out but that doesn't mean every team out there is lining up to give him that and more.

I'm mystified that you think that any of us have any influence on what the team does at qb. And please point out this franchise qb to our front office and spare the rest of us the misery of going through another decade of looking for one. I'm sure David Tepper would happily reward you for that bit of prophecy. -
I'm sure they will at some point if they are interested. Most of the staff are still moving into their offices. Their first full staff meeting hasn't happened yet. Whatever they have planned for FA will be decided after our current players are evaluated which just started. Even if they were interested Carr is in no rush to sign with anyone so who do we have to be in a rush to show interest? If we really want him we will sign him.
