    You will get a clue how much playing time PJ will get from the joint practices with the Bills this week. Rhule better name his starter by the beginning the first practice next week. Enough of this competition stuff. As far as I'm concerned he can go ahead and cut both PJ and Sam. Spend the rest of preseason getting Baker and Matt ready for the season.

    You are missing one important detail in your theory. You didn't account for time and pressure. Rhule doesn't have time to waste on PJ as he's under pressure to produce this season. PJ doesn't afford him the option to keep him around if he's not even better than Sam. Rhule has to get busy developing his new draft pick for next season because he's on the clock with the qb's.

    Backups are holding their own for the most part. I'm a little impressed to be honest. I thought they would be down 3 touchdowns by now.

    It's looking that way. It could just as well be that PJ might give the rest of the guys on offense more time on the field to be evaluated before a turnover. Because you know Sam has more in him to give.

    Probably. This is reminiscent of how things worked in the older days of the nfl. 30 or 40 years ago this would not have raised an eyebrow. Then steroids became popular and you see where that went. The players would take anything they could to get on the field to keep playing. The coaches and owners didn't give a crap.
