Exactly PJ was given opportunities and he didn't deliver. He's not totally useless trash and can be a backup but this is the season to see if Darnold is anything and if not we'll be picking top 3 as it should be.
-
Oh poo I figured we'd owe the league a pick. We may have the best GM in history, SOB got something for nothing.
-
Yea CJ had 0, 6, then 4 sacks in his first 3 years so it was year 4 when he turned into a good DE for a few years.
-
Not the end of the world honestly and yea unless they are a top talent at all in the draft it can be better to wait. If he doesn't end up working out they may have to adjust their idea of dropping in the draft so often when a good OL is available. At the end of the day they have their system and they are at least using it consistently so as with any system even if it has its successes you will not hit on everything obviously.
-
Yea everytime I come back here I'm reminded of just how much of a backwater for football discussion this place is lol. He then goes on to mention poo that the best organizations do...you know like...having only 2 QBs in the last 30 years. Only find that on the best teams. Doing the same thing with Rodgers they did with Favre and now these yokels who only watch First Take just run with whatever they are told on there about how the Packers are "mismanaging" lol. Hell if anything the NFL will be more than willing to triple down to make sure the league doesn't end up like the NBA, much less a 1 ring having Diva of a QB from GB gonna be runnin poo. But honestly Rodgers hates the media and loves trolling them, so who knows.
-
Nope, elaborate on this here discussion board for discussions. The truth? Or perhaps some people are just emo, or drama kings, or immature, or all, or a combination of these.
-
OFC how Darnold looks is going to hinge largely on how said OL performs....still no LT nor anything resembling confidence there is nothing short of concerning.
-
I got you but you have to consider the situation too. The Chargers had fantastic rosters back then with LT being one of the best backs and they put up good records for many years straight. Nothing else that gets said is going to counter the Jets being one of the worst ran teams ever with some of the least talent in the NFL.
-
Yea remember when we have OL who were good! Very underrated player for us in our history TBH
-
No doubt. Obviously everyone on here will know that I am historically a trash talking asshole who gives this team and all it's moves the business and it was well warranted when we have fugin JR and Rivera and Hurney at the helm....not the case anymore
-
2nd round pick is all it'll cost us regardless so its going to be a meh or one of the best trades of all time if it works out. We arent' used to this as a team but there is nothing to lose here at all. If he stinks we draft one with our top pick. Clearly they didn't have one of this years QBs higher than him or they'd have just drafted them. If that speaks to their evaluation skills that's a different topic and would be 2 QBs that flubbed. Only Tepper can say what that would mean going forward but their other picks and development have worked out so they are on the better side of the draft evaluation as of now.
-
I always thought it was the Saints given they kept trying to take out Smitty and injure our players and poo all the time. Followed by get off our field meg ryan and such. Perhaps it was Jerry Richardson this whole time lol
-
The situation is what is being compared...

Answered for me haha

Nope, Mahommes didn't even look fantastic on his team with his LT being out. The Jets gave up pressure on the majority of their passing attempts, no one is looking fantastic in that scenario much less Mahommes on a much worse team(severe understatement) than his SB team. Yea that's one example of many, like I said every scenario has happened and happens nearly every year. The Bengals suck but have weapons for a QB....Bernard has been one of the best RBs and Higgins and Boyd are good young WRs sucks for AJ Green with his injuries though but when he's on the field the other team is putting their CB1 on him still. Big difference between being hapless and sucking but yea Burrow is good but what happened to him is what can happen to good QBs on poo teams when their OL keeps fugin up...I mean his OL drove his man into Burrow that derpy poo always seems to follow the dumbass teams which is bad for the young QBs for sure. I mean our own Cam Newton was hurt diving to stop a TD when KB should have first ran the route properly and caught the ball, second tackle the fugin guy....but yea shitty teams derp and fail their QB....just adds to the point really.
-
This is why I only respond to certain people...it's easy to figure out who.
-
Well most people at all bust out of the NFL so that's not saying much. We've seen every scenario so once again that's not saying much to point out that most QBs fail on any chance nevermind the 2nd or 3rd chance. We've seen players play well on a team then play bad on another team We've seen players like DeMarco Murray look like the best RB in the NFL to being right on out of the NFL...clearly the team/OL there Each scenario is it's own context and can't be universally applied. I don't believe what you just said at all. The reality is that its closer to equal and it certainly isn't one greatly over the other. Once again Mahommes or no one else is putting up good stats on that Jets team. DW had a top 3 WR for most of his time in Houston who clearly made sick plays himself but even the college DW was better than Darnold and is the superior player in every way and why he was our #1 target. We're on option C with a hope and a prayer with the context here being that no one looked good on the Jets including Bell who did well in Pittsburg but was one of the ghosts Sam was seeing as he was invisible too. Bill Obrien thought he was Belichick and his personnel moves were hilarously idiotic but even that MFer had back to back winning seasons...twice even...so he damn sure can't be the worst actual coach in the NFL with the likes of Rivera still hanging around. Who incidentally also fuged up a certain QB. But it actually is false that most of the nurturing has already happened with Sam as he only started one year in HS and two in college so he is very inexperienced overall and like the rest of the players got nothing from the coaching staff in NY. Unlike the TB scenario who played on several teams already and what he is was set in stone long before he got here we haven't seen Sam with anything worth a fart. Chances are, like most anyone who gets to the NFL, he won't pan out. Will cost us a 2nd rounder if he flubs, its not a big deal at all.
-
I like how the Jets have to spell it out since most of their fans never graduated. It sounds like a college teams chant and that part isn't actually a diss though just what it sounds like. Personally not a fan of the "go -----" anything as it sounds lame and always has sounded lame and seems to be what you hear from people who don't actually talk football or watch much football but pretend they do. At least in my anecdotal experience. Like ahh you like the Panthers? Next time I see them they be like "Go Panthers"....like go where mfer OFC being a Clemson fan they spell that poo out too. I personally don't but at least it's college and like I said that's a college type thing to me.
-
Yea he's fantastic. Its also worth pointing out that Alex Smith took that team to the AFC Championship game. KC has weapons that are second to none and one of the best offensive HC ever...fist ballot HoFer....goes back to a previous post of mine in here. System matters and everyone is a system player. Doesn't mean Darnold will pan out but it also means it isn't just Mahommes and he couldn't just go anywhere and light it up like people are so quick to say about all sorts of players when it simply isn't true. IF he had been the QB on the Jets we'd be calling him a bust...I mean hell he was the QB of the Jets in the SB when his OL played like the Jets OL...53%comp and 2 ints 0 TD...270yds. No one plays well getting pressured on over half of their drop backs More than in years past it seems people are getting second chances as the old school way has given to the younger generation that are now coaches and such it never was so simple but the old guard of a particular way of thinking has been getting replaced. I'm glad Mahommes got to go to KC and play with Reid and I'm glad people are getting second chances instead of being scapgoats for poo HCs like Jeff Fisher and what happened with Vince Young for example.
-
Yea some of his throws were literally the ones Mahommes gets shown for on his highlights. It's not an arm, athleticism, or talent issue. Even looking at his runs he's not some inept buffoon he actually injured a defender on a run lowering his shoulder.
-
Same "sources" as those Shefter "sources" from the Rodgers bullshit. Yea man someone reached out to walter fugin football lol Funny how gullible people are though. Just put a per league sources in there and the easily duped will be all ears.
-
Not to mention now that the newer generation of ex players are on TV and talking on those shows we are getting a lot more honestly about the whole process. Like Brandon Marshall and many others saying everyone is a system player to combat the idiotic nonsense when those non players keep calling this or that player a "system player". Literally no QB would succeed with that Jets team and they showed the routes and why its a poo system. Marshall was saying how they ran certain route patterns against defenses that are meant specifically to stop said routes and did it consistently. Where you go matters. At least now this evaluation will be legit on his abilities. Can't argue with our weapons and can't argue that our OC isn't good.
-
Personally never thought it fit with football at all. Sounds more sad than anything like longing for a victory rather than just having won a game...easily replaced.
-
Literally every GM after the draft says they got their guy. This isn't nor ever was a smoke screen, there was no one to fool and no one was going to be fooled regardless. This just reeks of people trying to come off as smarter than they actually are, maybe next time don't out smart yourself when it's 28-3 Kyle.
-
Still laugh at the morons who think our OL is worse than it is, it's middling. Most teams don't get 4+ seconds to throw the ball and compared to the film the Jets OL put up he may as well have the best T/G/C that have ever suited up.
