A lot of the anger was the mismanagement of the Kemba trade. TR looks great, but that doesn’t diminish the fact they should have traded Kemba at the deadline.. you could have done that and still signed Rozier as an FA if you wanted to go in that direction. I still think it was mismanagement of a valuable asset.

They have the most attractive package to work from. But he's a sports writer with 45 years of experience covering a team that's played 19 seasons and whose leadership has been there about 45 minutes. I don't see any way he's a 1st ballot guy, not with the "fights". Character matters in those votes. TO it took 3 years, same for Michael Irvin. Chris Carter took 6.. All had some skeletons.. Hell, Art Monk took 8, and he was all world well regarded. It will happen, he's one of the 25 best to ever play the position, but don;t lose your minds if it takes a few years.

The quarterback-to-Carolina rhetoric isn't new, but some might be surprised to see Lance as the pick rather than Ohio State's Justin Fields. Both possess strong arms, both are highly competitive, both are sturdy in the pocket and can pick up chunks when they decide to tuck it and run, and both can hit the deep ball. But in going back to the tape, I think Lance goes through his progressions a little quicker than Fields, who gets stuck on his primary read too often. It's tight, but I think Lance has an edge.

I hate to derail this.. but in the 235 threads I’ve seen with some form of “beating WFT cost us ....” did you people actually watch the WFT game? The Panthers were not remotely good in that game Washington looked like they were actively trying to lose the game, rather than win the NFC East Had Rhule punted on 2nd down every possession I’m still not sure Haskins could have done anything positive. Ron Rivera is who you need to blame here. I’ve never seen a team less prepared or committed to winning an NFL game. Hard to lose a fight when your opponent takes a dive in the 1st round. Everyone still hung up on it needs to get the fug over it. Back to the point. that’s too much to trade.. if you are raiding multiple drafts, do it for Watson.. if not DW, stay the course.

The Panthers give the Dolphins a call in this scenario, seeing a chance to jump the line to get a quarterback at No. 3. Miami originally acquired this pick via an August 2019 trade with the Texans, but now hand over the selection to Carolina in exchange for the No. 8 pick, the Panthers' second-rounder (No. 39) and a 2022 first-rounder. It'd be a great haul for the Dolphins, who just barely missed the playoffs this season and can now build even further around QB Tua Tagovailoa. But it's also a good price for the Panthers, who need their QB of the future HARD NO. trading up to 3 will cost a ton. The Athletic has a good breakdown.. They had people being trained on video review, the wrong guys made the call. They knew they had it wrong almost immediately.. Once that pucked dropped it was a done deal. The NHL should have intervened right then rather than waiting till the intermission. Would have been a real kick in the junk if they let up a PP goal in addition to the bad goal.

The real question here is what was the league thinking allowing the goal. It was clearly offsides. I have no issue pulling the remaining time on the PP. Columbus got screwed once, screwing them twice would have been a bit much.

We have totally left the rails on the Buc's being turds. I think the real issue here is many of these guy make silly money for a short period of time.. I can't blame any of these guys for living the life of a multi millionaire.. I bet 90% of NFL guys fail to do is treat that 3, 5, 7 year pay window as a 40 year income source.. Living like you make 15 mill over 5 years is going to mean there isn't generational wealth waiting at year 6 let alone year 40. I was going to lump NBA guys in here, but they are making absolutely insane money all guaranteed.. them and MLB guys have such an advantage of guaranteed contracts.

The point (I believe) was not that it was a ridiculously large sum, but part of a larger trend that too many NFL players are unable to make sound financial decisions.. Not to derail, but the average NFL career is 3.3 years. Sports Illustrated had a study that showed 78% of NFL players are either bankrupt or under significant financial stress within two years of leaving the game. So yeah.. He had a good point.
