We didn't tank for Cam we sucked and remember it took unti.year 3 before we had a winning record. And we didn't have a QB already we thought could be a starter. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't draft another QB high with Fitterer swing for the fences but my point is we don't need to purposely suck to find one.

No. Wilkes is a defensive guy and can lead the defense. If he were an offensive coach he could have fired McAdoo but you don't install a new offense in October. And if you aren't then just let McAdoo sink or swim.
-
No you can't install a new offense in October. You have to roll with what you have unless you have an offensive head coach who takes over. Given Wilkes is defense that isn't going to happen

Go back to when Snow got here. We have run zone almost exclusively for years. What we did with Horn is run man to man with him against a particular player and play zone shell elsewhere.
-
And how are the Bengals doing this year. Yeah 2-3. He had a great rookie year but Baker took Clevelabd to the playoffs as well. Neither Cleveland or the the Bengals have been consistently good. It might take more than a QB alone to turn a team around. But tanking isn't the way to build a consistent team.

He is a good fit for McAdoos scheme. Now if we fire McAdoo and go with a different scheme this could change.

You haven't been paying attention. Snow was the king of zone. It was only this year that we had the personnel to run man coverage. Last year we were almost exclusive zone. https://www.pff.com/news/pro-taking-a-closer-look-examining-the-nfls-coverage-scheme-tendencies#:~:text=The Carolina Panthers led the,the course of the year.

We have our QB of the future in Corral. Who says tanking for the number 1 pick works. We have the number pick in 2018 and how is that working out.
-
We have our qb of the future in Corral. I am not convinced any of these supposedly great prospects will be better than him. Who purposely tanked in the NFL and then were great the next year?
-
I guess that the friction between Snow and Wilkes must have been true.

You have to match the system to the QB. Cam couldn't run a system focused on quick short accurate passing. That isn't his game at all.

I told you there was plenty of time in the Fall to be negative and here we are. I am hopeful now that much like Philly in baseball that Wilkes can improve us with largely the same personnel. If that doesn't work we can be more negative in December. But I am glad Rhule is gone. Even with more NFL experience around him we just keep sucking.

Ben Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, Dan Quinn, Brian Flores, Ken Dorsey

Tired of hiring coordinators and waiting for them to grow into the position. If they are out there I want an ex nfl head coach who can step in and help us win right away instead of years down the road. -
If what was rumored was true and Wilkes and Snow dint see eye to eye I winder if Snow stays or goes as well.
-
If the rumors about Wilkes and Snow are true, I wonder if he stays or goes as well.

Sometimes this can lead to good change. Look at what happened to the Phillies in baseball after making a change midseason. It can't get much worse.

I was hoping it was going to happen after yesterday's debacle and the sea of red in our stadium.

Jason La Canfora on the Panthers Future and CMC

Football is a team game. Cam also lost a bunch of games for us since 2018 as well. I guess he didn't move the needle like you thought either if that is your criteria. -
Jason La Canfora on the Panthers Future and CMC

With CMC healthy again and productive he becomes an asset instead of a liability. I don't see us eating a huge chunk of dead cap money unless we got some real value for him. Sure he has had his injury issues but when healthy he is the best receiver and running back on our team. He generates what little offense we have. What good would a future 2nd rounder be worth to replace a guy we used a first rounder on and until he was hurt was considered a top player in the league. If we trade CMC we are giving up on the season and that I can't abide. Screw draft picks until the season ends, you play to win and players who lay it on the line deserve management doing everything to help them succeed. -
Cam made millions upon millions in salary and endorsements so I don't feel sorry for him. And when he played for Belichick who is generally considered a good coach they used him just like the Panthers did. The reason he ran so much was because that was his game. He was never a good pocket passer which is what we all said he would have to evolve if he wanted to stay in the league. Injury stopped his game which is the case with most players. Nobody made him do anything he didn't want to do and he was paid well for what he did.

Players play the game for money. It is a business to them. So the whole putting their bodies on the line for moral victories might be a college thing but not a pro thing. If you play well on a crappy team you still get a big contract and make millions. So your whole premise is off base. Football is a violent game but players do it because they think it is worth it. It isn't to make fans happy. If they had to play for free how many would do it? Not many. So they get compensated to risk their health so again they aren't doing it for charity or the team primarily. They do it for themselves.

You are right other folks have said the same thing and I put them in the same category as you. Do I need to know you to respond to your post? No. And if you had played sports at any significant level you would know that this might be a fan reaction but not a player one which is what I said. You can get triggered all you want but it doesn't change the fact that losing on purpose is a loser mentality. I didn't call you a loser simply your thought process and conclusions.
