  1. Charlotte FC crowds are very different from Panther crowds. My whole section in 127 stands for the whole game. They follow the supporters section lead who cheer and sing the whole game. Guys running around with no shirt on, waving huge flags, smudge pots going etc. The atmosphere is really electric and the players feed off that. I imagine the Panthers could benefit from a more raucous crowd.
  2. I think you are right. The 4-3-3 is more effective and is the system our coach has used everywhere. We finally have enough players to actually run it.
  3. First of all, this isn't a make or break year for Rhule. Tepper has already bashed that. So why bring in Jimmy G and take on his salary when the Panthers don't think that Jimmy is that great. Now if he gets released that is different. But then again why would he want to come here if he were a free agent.
  4. Reyna made a sick move near the goal and his cross was fantastic. I am thinking he needs more playing time.
  5. I'd say getting shinyashiki was a great pickup. He almost got a second goal yesterday and in his short time really rushed the block on attacks. I hope he starts for us soon.
  6. Not sure why you keep living in the past. This is now.
  7. Sorry you missed it. It was a great game. Charlotte FC is on a 4 game home winning streak. It was great going into BOA and coming out with a win. The supporter group were in high gear. They dont let fans during football season what the supporters are encouraged to do. Smoke pots going, throwing beer and water when we score. Large flags waving, everyone standing, singing and chanting. I love it. Even the rain cooperated holding off until after the game and we made it to the car.
  8. That is pretty naive to think that individual player time is determined by the head coach. Coordinators and position coaches make those decisions as well as rotational decisions during the game.. Head coaches have to explain it so they get credit good and bad. Campen and McAdoo will be making the decisions this year about the offense and line play.
  9. Let's see what happens this season. I am not going to go back and forth for 100 posts talking about last year or 3 years ago. We have a new system, an improved line and a competent OC and line coach. The same folks who complained about Darnold on every post like you since September are hardly going to change their mind. There will be plenty of time in the Fall to see what happens.
  10. And if you are a Panther fan you hope both Darnold and Corral play great This hoping someone sucks so your guy can play I don't understand.
  11. That logic is stupid honestly. When a QB is under pressure and getting clobbered alot, it impacts his confidence, timing, and rythym and that is why on uncontested throws he still struggled. He went through his steps too quickly and his timing was off with receivers so even when there wasn't the expected pressure, the play didn't worked. You can't just cherry pick plays out of context and draw conclusions.
  12. When has Darnold played behind a decent line or in a good system. History only shows that when he plays with a shitty line and bad OC he sucks. How is that predictive of the future. Before the injuries and teams exploited our poorly conceived scheme, he actually did play fairly well. So when injuries pile up and we don't make adjustments and our line doesn't protect he sucks. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan but fair is fair. If the line is much improved and McAdoo is as good as many think, then the expectation would suggest that Darnold wil play better. How much better or better that Corral is anyone's guess. But you can't deny that last year was the tale of 2 different QBs in Darnold.
  13. Lots of coaches have had success one place and flamed out elsewhere when they changed jobs and added responsibility. Wilks did a decent job for us and likely learned from his time in Arizona. We dont want him for head coach right now, he is our secondary coordinator and will add much needed experience at making adjustments and mixing coverages to help Snow manage the backside on game day. And McAdoo's value is based on his system and his playcalling. I haven't heard many critics suggest he didn't know how to run an offense or get the most out of his quarterback.
  14. I bet if Rhule is fired and Snow goes with him Wilks will be the new DC. Snow even said that he and Wilkes think alike. I think Wilkes was chosen so he can be our next DC if Snow leaves or retires. Snow isn't exactly a spring chicken.
  15. Why would we make Snow interim when he has never been a head coach and we have 2 assistants with head coaching experience? And Tepper said Rhule's job is safe so all this speculation about him being fired is wishful thinking.
  16. Let's see if he can run the whole offense day 1 or whether it has to be severely restricted to what he can run due to being a rookie. Whether you like it or not, Sam or PJ running our complete offense is an upgrade over Corral if he can only run a chopped down version of the offense.
  17. I am pretty sure most here would agree that the new coaches hired are significant upgrades over who was here previously and it isn't a debate. Anyone who knows anything about football can see the obvious upgrades. We went from guys with little to no NFL experience to guys who were coordinators before and in the case of McAdoo and Wilkes both were also head coaches. Campen is a proven commodity as a line coach and Tabor is considered one of the best special teams coordinator in the league. Even if we hadn't upgraded our personnel we would have been better this year based on coaching alone.
  18. I think we need to see how everyone develops through camp and the preseason to get aby idea about where Corral will be. You don't put him in if he isn't ready unless you are willing to condense the offense to what he knows and can already do. If he can't run the full offense then Sam and PJ are your best chances to win. When Corral is ready and he is the best option then he should start. And the guys who will know that best will be McAdoo and Ryan. The whole theory that Rhule needs to manipulate things to save his job is a false narrative already debunked by our draft and failure to go all out for Watson for example by guaranteeing his contract. In the past the offensive coordinator was a Rhule yes man, McAdoo is going to coach as best he can and do what he knows to do. I bet Tepper has told Rhule to let his folks do their job and that they don't appreciate being micro-managed anymore than he would.
  19. Teddy couldn't throw the ball deep without heaving it up there on a bet. The knock on Teddy was he refused to throw it down the field. Darnold actually has a fairly good deep ball which he rarely gets to show because he has never had time generally to wait for receivers to get deep. It is fine not to.like someone but you have to be within the real of possibility to get any credibility.
  20. I think that if a quarterback had gone off in the top 10 it could have started a run on QBs. Everyone thought Pittsburgh and Pickett were automatics so that didn't move the needle. Like others we just waited for the next one to drop before we got busy. I don't think we were alone. As it got deeper in the draft suddenly QB was the BPA. But I think the lack of success last year's quarterbacks had might have deterred teams who wanted a guy who could play right away this year from jumping on a rookie. If this class is much worse and last year's mostly sucked then all these guys were developmental outside of perhaps Pickett.
  21. I thought this draft was outstanding wholly admitting I am an optimistic fan and am looking at half full not half empty. But what has me excited is our new group of coaches. McAdoo and Campen are huge upgrades. And Wilks will help Snow with gameplanning and adjustments. Add in Tabor on special teams and we have real NFL experience in all phases of the game. People are so focused on Rhule that they don't realize things have shifted dramatically for the better. Our coordinators will be doing the work and making most of the day to day and development decisons. Rhule may have final say but he won't have yes men anymore but rather competent coaches who are respected in the league and have been there and done that. Tepper can let him coach and do his thing as long as he lets his folks do their job. They know more than he does. Hopefully he is smart enough to know that.
  22. If you get 2 qbs who can play and are both on a rookie contract you hit the jackpot. When it is time for resigning you keep the best and trade the other if you can't sign both. Why shoot for a backup if you find a potential starter on a rookie deal.
  23. I had read that the Eagles were hot for Thibideaux and were considering trading for our 6th. So the Giants did get what they wanted and we made the right choice because we had no trade down partner. I would call that a win - win.
  24. Regardless of what talking heads and the media say, this could be one of our best drafts in the last decade. Ickey isn't going to bust and Corral is on a 4 year rookie deal and cost the equivalent or a mid third rounder for who some say is the best rookie qb in the draft. Given the value placed on LT and QB alone this draft was a great value at positions of need. Everyone else is a bonus. This year was quality over quantity. For what we needed I think we checked the boxes.
  25. That doesn't reflect the draft so much as reflect that at most positions we have starters penciled in. I hope that Corral doesn't have to start day 1. Better for his development.
