  1. I used to work with Chris Paul's mom. And by work with, I mean we passed each other in elevator a few times.
  2. Well, you were right and I was wrong. Seems a waste of money to me, but I suppose the Rams have a plan.
  3. In some ways, there is an advantage to judging a college football qb without being a fan of college football. Gives one a bit more objectivity.
  4. Personally, I would draft a qb this year. Yeah, the bust potential is high, but you have to take the risk, because the difficulty level of trying to win without a good qb is very very high. Only two teams in the last 20 years or so have won a sb without a good qb (Broncos and Eagles). With a draftee and Corral in camp, we have two players with at least some potential to starter and be good. Of course, the odds are still against us, but with the right coach, who knows.
  5. If we don't draft a qb in the next draft, the fan base is likely to riot.
  6. Because Seattle is competing for the division and they may want keep SF from picking up a new qb. Of course, I am sure that some here might think Seattle is better off letting SF have Mayfield. But the original point was that there is no reason for Los Angeles to grab him with them having no shot at a playoff. No reason to spend the money.
  7. Cutting Cam and hiring Bridgewater. I consider them both part of one decision. Best to let Cam play out his final year, see if he has anything left. If not, draft a qb and more on. The Cam/Bridgewater thing was the first of several baffling decisions at qb that still make no sense at all.
  8. Heinike is the best, he just couldn't stay healthy for us.
  9. No reason they would do that. They are out of the playoffs, and they would be spending money for no material gain. I could see Seattle doing it though.
  10. With Garappolo out, SF is probably the only real spot for him. If he can't play well with Shanahan, then he might as well hang it up.
  11. Too small a sample size to judge at this point. I know you don't like Tepper, but you have to admit that he is better than Snyder. Not that being better than Snyder is setting the bar very high. Fwiw, I was defending Gibbs more than anything. He probably is my all time favorite coach.
  12. My comment wasn't a defense of Harbaugh. Personally, I don't really like him, but if we hired him, I would be ok with it.
  13. Best coach Washington has had in this century. Could be that its more than just a coaching issue.
  14. Lamar was injured in the first qtr. Missed most of the game.
  15. For now, if I were a defensive coach, I would try to force Fields to be me passing the ball downfield, and prevent him from running. That may change at some point.
  16. Yeah, I did. For some reason, I want to call him Zach Smith.
  17. Terrible games for Fields today. Lawrence didn't exactly light it up, and Smith sitting on the sideline at the Jets game. With Lance out for the year, last years qb draft still not looking good so far.
  18. Jets QB Mike White just made one heck of a throw. Threaded the needle on a 15 yard pass after getting rattled hard the play before.
  19. I doubt he was ever told he had 4-5 years to get things going. More than likely, Tepper told him he wanted to see the team be a consistent winner in 4-5 years. But if Matt Rhule thinks that meant he didn't have to show some improvement after a couple of years, he truly is a fool. Not only did the team not show signs of improvement, it actually seemed worse.
  20. I don't know him well enough to know if he is a fraud. Not even really sure if I know that the term means in this particular case. I just know he did a terrible job as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, and I am glad he is no longer our coach. He does need to move on though and stopped sounding like a bitter jilted boyfriend.
  21. He forgot to pick up Tampons at Walgreens on the way home.
  22. That was some Matt Rhule level incompetence on that last series for the Pats. And I can't remember the last time I saw a fg hit the cross bar like that on a fg of less than fifty yards.
  23. I am definitely, positively, absolutely, not a UNC fan, and maybe they shouldn't be ranked at this point. But losing by 12 at Indiana is not necessarily a terrible loss. In fact, they honestly did a little better than I thought they would.
  24. As a college qb, Hartman has been great. But he has a tendency to go thru stretches where he just keeps throwing it to the other team. He had 7 interceptions in a three-game stretch against Louisville, State, and UNC. And the quality of the defense doesn't seem to matter. Zero picks against Clemson and FSU this year, but three against Louisville and two against Liberty. Might be able to get away with that in college, but in the NFL, it means he gets cut.
