Perhaps, but personally I don't think its a bad deal. He played well, and the contract is cheap, and incentive laden. So if he gets injured next season and only plays two games, they owe him very little. Who might they have signed for such a small amount of guaranteed money that would be a better choice?

This is Rivera's signing. There is no doubt of that. https://www.hogshaven.com/2021/1/22/22237406/martin-mayhew-officially-announced-as-the-new-gm-for-the-washington-football-team

Regarding his contract, some of you over reacted. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/details_revealed_of_taylor_henickes_two_year_extension/s1_16457_34077524#:~:text=Heinicke receives %24500%2C000 in guaranteed,up to %24500%2C000 in 2021. Details of Taylor H's contract. Year 1 1 million dollar contract, with half guaranteed. For the other half, he has to be on the roster Year 2 1.5 million Roster bonus up to 750,000. Its actually a pretty good contract for the team. And not a bad one for him as it is a lot more than he was making But to make the full amount, he is going to have to earn it.

More likely that its 1.5 million per year, with a lot of incentives.

I thought Band of Brothers got it right, although in fairness, they pretty much had it written for them.

The story telling thru the first 6 or 7 seasons was fantastic. I am with the ones who say the ending wasn't as bad as some are saying. The primary problem with season 8 was that the focused more on big action scenes, without the story telling. And it was a little predictable.

Bad oline play aside, Mahomes injury is definitely hurting him. Normally he escapes some of these.
-
Its still early, but the difference in this game is that Tampa is playing defense, KC is not.

Why is the NFL making all those receivers fall down? They must want Brady to win.

I don't really care who wins. For the Buc's, its a rental superbowl. Don't blame them for doing it, but it doesn't really matter to me.

Remote learning has been a failure per CMS
Davidson Deac II replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Huddle Lounge
I don't know that many parents with school age kids, as my son graduated college, and most of our friends are the same age as me. I do know 1 or 2 though that are excelling with remote learning. Fewer distractions, and they are not being bullied every day. So there are some advantages to it. -
The Lone Ranger: What to do with Matt Paradis?
Davidson Deac II replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
10 million is his cap number, but I am not sure he is actually making that. If I understand the way it works, his base salary is around 8 million, and the rest of the cap hit is prorated bonus that he was already paid, but is counted in 2021 for cap purposes. According to this, he is the 12th highest paid center in the NFL. A little higher than he should be perhaps, but not terrible. https://overthecap.com/position/center/ -

That is my feeling as well. He is adequate for now. We have other spots to fix that are more imperative. -
I think if one is young, then NYC would be interesting to live in. At my age though, I am with you. I enjoy visiting it, but have zero desire to live there. If he wants to win a Superbowl, then I would say SF. Get the defense healthy, and with Watson under center, they could be a significant challenger.

I was able to get some N95 on amazon fairly easily.

Jamie Newman Turning Heads
Davidson Deac II replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
He actually had some decent receivers. Both Scotty Washington and Kendall Hinton (he of Denver emergency qb fame) were good enough to get a look in the NFL which makes them better than the vast majority of college receivers. But once Surratt and Washington went down with injury, Newman struggled more. -
Jamie Newman Turning Heads
Davidson Deac II replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know how well Newman will do, but I disagree with using the Clemson game as a benchmark. Reality is that Wake doesn't match Clemson in talent, not even close. So it would be nearly impossible for even a great qb to look good. In 2015, Patrick Mahomes looked horrible in a game against Oklahoma, primarily because Oklahoma had more talent across the board than did Texas tech. Better to judge Newman in the games were talent level was more even. In truth, the talent disparity across college teams is one of the reasons its so hard to judge how well a qb will do in the NFL when the talent levels are closer to even. -

And apparently playing it fairly well. Maybe his issues here were more with us than with him? -

Allen is a impressive looking qb at times, but he still makes some baffling decisions at times. That was one of them. -

Fournette has made some nice plays, but I am not sure how much he can cash in based off his play this year. His numbers this year aren't that great. -
i still remember watching him hit #715. It was a very memorable moment. Probably the most memorable sports moment I ever witnessed.

The list can definitely be a little flexible. A few qb's get on that list for a couple of years, then fall off of it. I would say that both Delhomme and Cam were on it for a couple of years. Point remains though that its going to be hard to get one.
