Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young
Davidson Deac II replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believed he should have been given the Mahomes treatment and spent most of the first year on the bench. Especially after we had our best offensive game with Dalton. If making him sit and watch embarrasses people, tough. And if his psyche can't handle it, then he has no shot at making it as an NFL QB anyway. -
CFB conference championship games

They are a great team, and next year they would be in, but they lost when it meant the most. -

You could make an argument for them definitely. I do think losing the conference should knock Georgia and Ohio State out of the conversation. -

That's an opinion, but they lost when all they had to do was win and be in. I have to admit, that is why I prefer the NFL. Opinions and votes don't matter, only what they do on the field. -

It should be FSU, Alabama, Washington, and Michigan. -
I could see Tepper moving the team.
Davidson Deac II replied to Brent Gregory's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think the NFL will expand again, at least not anytime soon. To many of the stadiums are normally at 50% or less of capacity. TV ratings are declining (slightly, but still declining). The Market is changing, and the revenue stream might not be able to grow as much in the future as it has in the past. There hasn't been any serious expansion talk in 30 years, and the current group of owners is unlikely to be willing to split the revenue with more teams. And if it does happen, its likely to be international. I think this would be a mistake, but almost all expansion talk centers around international expansion. -
Well, in fairness, it does help a bit when you have Marvin Harrison and Marshall Faulk around you.

They are calling some iffy penalties tonight. Refs must not have gotten laid last night.
-
Announcer said that Seattle knows they are going to get pressured, so they gameplan to get the ball out quick. What is that like?
-
That was one of the weirdest two minute drives I have ever seen. Seattle had to score three times to get a single td, and Dallas had more offsides penalties in that one drive than some teams have in an entire game.

Cam Newton: Tepper wants Belichick
Davidson Deac II replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, in fairness that is true with most head coaches. That is why Sean Payton left the Aints when Brees retired. -
I think its absurd to say that Tepper doesn't care about winning. If he didn't care about winning, he would be off skiing in the Alps or whatever incredibly wealthy people do these days. He just has no idea how to run a team, and it showed immediately when he hired Rhule. Since then, it's been one mistake after another.

Derrick Brown is our Franchise player
Davidson Deac II replied to GPantherfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he was performing well, like a top 10 qb, very few would be complaining. Imo, if he does become a good qb, what we gave up won't really matter. But if he is a bust, very few will forget what we gave up. -
Our defense has shut Tn out in the second half. Despite the large amount of injuries, and our limited ability to pressure the passer, the defense has had us in most games this year. If our offense was semi competent, we would likely be a 500 team.
-
Levis attempts to draw us offsides has lead to three penalties, all false starts.
-
Tn is going to score on this drive. Defense is worn out and they are just going to hand it off to DH.
-
Very nice throw.
-
20 bucks say we are better at trying to lose than they are. We have more experience at it.
-
He has a better arm, but he misses receivers at the same pace Bryce does, and doesn't see the field much better despite having more time.
-
Double team the oldest receiver we have is the Titan's game plan. And it works like a charm.
-
Well, the Giants lead the league in sacks allowed by a significant margin, despite the fact that they are among the bottom five in passing attempts. So while they may "gameplan" around their issues, it ain't working.
-
That is the problem with picking a guy from a school like Alabama. You can be slow at Alabama, but your team is so physically superior to most teams they play, that it's not always apparent. I guess we can hope that he eventually makes the adjustment.
-
Fwiw, Sanders has played a little better since the second half of the Colts game, especially when you consider how good the Dallas and TN defenses are against the run. Still not worth what we spent on him, but at least its something.
-
They need to run it up the middle more.
-
Well, we can throw it to Chuba.
