  1. Solid analysis from Dan Orlovsky on Darnold's issues,
  2. Your stars can't help you if they aren't on the field. Watson could still playing high level quarterback in a decade. The chances CMC is still a high level RB in a decade are almost zero. If this were the only consideration, I'd do CMC for Watson, no problem. But the situation is far more complicated than that.
  3. I don't understand the sudden sense of urgency either. They can't use the draft picks they acquire until April anyway.
  4. He hasn't been active since the Vikings game. I hope he's okay.
  5. Or it could be like trading L.J. Collier, A.J. Terrell, and Alex Leatherwood for him. The value in the picks is all in how you spend them.
  6. Deadline is Tuesday (11/4) at 4pm. ESPN has considerable power and the MNF game on 11/3 is Giants/Chiefs. Last week's performance by both teams not withstanding, that has the potential to be a blowout by halftime. ESPN might prefer to have Shefty break the news in the closing moments of the 1st half on Monday, giving ESPN their MNF to be the first to break down the story and maintain interest in the broadcast.
  7. 1. Big Ben got suspended six games for his alleged misconduct. He was never charged criminally. I don't see anyway Watson avoids at least a six game suspension. 2. 18 million is what the Panthers owe Darnold for 2022. That's a little high for a backup but not unheard of. Mike Glennon is currently making 18 million to be the backup in New York behind Jones.
  8. Karmara with 30 touches. McCaffrey like.
  9. That Seattle offense is how Rhule wants to play. Run, run, and run again.
  10. Even Fox, Ryan and Fisher had most of their success in an NFL where you could win games 17-14. The problem with winning games 17-14 is your margin for error is so small, you can easily lose them 14-17. But in today's NFL, your defense is actually doing well to keep the other team under 20. Your offense has to be able score 20+ points a game to be competitive.
  11. What's the difference between a "criminal complaint" and being "charged with a crime"? I'm not trying to be snarky. There are 10 criminal complaints.
  12. If you want to talk about 'should have', what we should have done is not sign Bridgewater, go with Grier or PJ in 2020 and then had our pick of Lawrence, Wilson, Fields and Lance in the Top 5 of the draft.
  13. Straight from Rhule's mouth: Bolding and underling added by me. source: https://www.nfl.com/news/matt-rhule-on-why-panthers-didn-t-pick-qb-in-draft-i-just-believe-in-sam-darnold
  14. I'm probably going to get flamed to death for this but here goes: Dear David, Swallow your pride, pick up the phone and call Cam Newton. Admit you made a mistake wanting 'your guy' and beg him to come back.
  15. He took two programs that were absolute messes and made them respectable in three years. We were a mess after Ron. Unfortunately, it looks like we're still a mess.
  16. Top 10 highest paid coaches. 7 of 10 are Super Bowl winners. All but one has at least led their team to a Super Bowl appearance. 1. Bill Belichick, $12.5 million 2. Pete Carroll, $11 million 3. Sean Payton, $9.8 million 4. John Harbaugh, $9 million 5. Matt Rhule, $8.5 million 6. Sean McVay, $8.5 million 7. Mike Tomlin, $8 million 8. Andy Reid, $8 million 9. Bruce Arians, $8 million 10. Ron Rivera, $7 million https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/who-are-highest-paid-coaches-nfl-2021-season
  17. It was 3-5 at halftime. Sacks are great but points allowed is what you're defense is paid to do. Our defense played well enough to win. The offense simply couldn't do anything.
