  1. Not knowing how will be there I picked 7. 1. Lawrence 2. Fields 3. Slater 4. Sewell 5. Wilson 6. Lance 7. Pitts If all seven are gone, I'd be looking to trade down into the Darishaw range.
  2. I want Sam to be successful for the exact same reasons I wanted Teddy to be successful, and Kyle Allen to be successful, and Cam Netwon to be successful. Because if they're successful it means the Panthers are winning.
  3. 1. How many young QBs did Joe Thomas end up protecting? 2. "seem to think they have solved that [QB] issue " is not how Fitterer acted in Seattle at all. Don't misunderstand. I'd be thrilled with an OT, but if Fields was there, I think I'd take him. Time will tell if it would be the right move or not.
  4. OTs are far from the reliable can't miss prospects they used to be. It's still a projection for both the LT and QB (just like every rookie ever drafted). Sewell/Slater could very well be "an LT that can protect the QB at an elite level for a decade or so barring injury". I'd be thrilled with picking either. They could also struggle to adapt to the pro game and have to move to guard or really not work out and be out of the league in 4 years. All of those are within the range of outcomes. But man, if we're going to talk best case scenarios, and Fields is there, and he hits his best scenario? Wow, you're talkig about an elite QB who can throw for throw with the very best and make us playoff contenders year in and year out. That's Fields best case scenario. There's simply a much higher upside to being right about Fields, especially when we may be able to get a very good OT later in the draft, and given how barren next year's draft class at QB looks.
  5. The one guy I do NOT want is Parsons. Off the ball linebacker is not a premium position. You don't spend premium resources (like a top 10 draft pick) on a non premium position.
  6. I get the impression he's excited to be here.
  7. Their initial move was to try to move up to 3, but they didn't like the price MIA wanted. Based on what SF paid, I'm kind of glad Fitt decided not to. It begs the question, though. Who were they targeting at 3? What if that player happens to be there at 6, or 7, and they can move up for a much cheaper price than what it would have taken to get to 3? Or what if by some chance he's there at 8?
  8. This year's draft is deep at OT. You can get a starter in round 2. Next year's draft look is be relatively sparse on QB talent. If Fields hits his ceiling, you'd really regret not taking him. Lance is much more of a gamble, but I'd take Fields if he falls to 8. I also think that's it is incredibly unlikely that Fields is there at 8. My nightmare scenario is we get to watch him become a star in Atlanta.
  9. I could be wrong on the timing, but I think he just got back in town from visiting with Jimmy Johnson for a couple days in the Keys -- note the comment he made about 'Florida sun'. Jimmy tends to invite young coaches to hang out with him in the offseason. It's sort of a right of passage.
  10. Who do I want? I want a perennial pro bowler at 8.
  11. Stephen A lost all credibility when he said "now he's got an offensive line."
  12. The season is over four months away. I choose to be optimistic regardless of what happens. That's too long to be pessimistic.
  13. New England is coming to Bank of America this season. You'll see it up close and personal.
  14. While no where near as talented, Gio has a very similar game to CMC. Would make a great backup if he'd take the role.
  15. Robby said he was "definitely not expecting" Darnold in Carolina. How do you not talk to the one guy on your team most familiar with Darnold before pulling the trigger on the trade? If they did talk to Robby, why would Robby said he wasn't expecting it?
  16. Bringing up his trade value now is irrelevant to your original premise. Your stated premise was that Brady had no influence Bridgewater or Burrow. Bridgewater had the best year statistically of his career much like how Burrow had his best year under Brady. I submit this is strong evidence that Brady did have a similar positive influences on him like he did on Burrow, and your original premise was flawed.
  17. Teddy Bridgewater had career highs in TDs, yards, completions, completion percentage, yards per game, and QBR in 2020. I'd say Brady had a pretty good influence on Teddy.
  18. Our playbook was kind of theirs to begin with. Brady and Teddy brought it here from New Orleans.
  19. If you're interested in a QB, how do you not at least talk to his former #1 WR? Either Robby is playing coy here for unknown reason or we really didn't consult the one person on our roster with the most experienced playing with Sam Darnold.
  20. Good thread of plays by Edgar Salmingo on Twitter. I'd highlight this one in particular. Easy flick of the wrist to launch the ball downfield. That's an NFL arm.
  21. Brady got a ton of interviews off after we went 5-11. If he had had a little more NFL experience, he'd already be gone. Any sort of marginal success in 2021 and he'll be a hot name again. I'd like to think Rhule is already planning on to lose Brady after 2021.
  22. I always look at these types of questions with the mindset of what is most likely to happen. Of the options presented, a Teddy 2.0 outcome (career highs in TD/Yards but still clearly a marginal NFL QB) that makes us competitive) and a Jake outcome (not an elite QB but shows he can make us competitive) are quite similar. Darnold's most likely outcome in probably in that range. Gets beaten out as starter(rookie/Teddy/etc) - 5% chance He is who we thought he was(same inconsistent player - bust) - 20% chance Teddy 2.0(career highs in TD/Yards but still clearly a marginal NFL QB) - 35% chance Jake 2.0(not an elite QB but shows he can make us competitive) - 35% chance Adam Gase is QB Poison(Shows why he was the #3 overall pick - Franchise QB) - 5% chance

  24. Though the metric can be flawed, I look at comebacks and game-winning drives as an indicator of how clutch a player is. Data : Sam Darnold has led 3 comebacks, and had 4 game-winning drives in his 38 career starts. Teddy Bridgewater has led 5 comebacks, and ahd 6 game-winning drives in 49 career starts.
