To an extent youre right, both players were/are elite and lack good judgement. Smitty had a ferocious temper which is what made him good on the field. Never been arrested and kept his outbursts related to the team. Never any domestics or dui's or the like. Plus, smitty was a dedicated hard working football player who was more worried about his career than anything else besides his family. Hardy appears to want to be famous. That is what scares me. Thats it.

I'm closer to agreeing with you than you think. however, i'm not blind to the other side of this poo coin. Hardy baisically, through his own actions, showed no remorse for the media backlash, the public embarrassment or that his team needed him. The entire time he just kept being outlandish and foolish on social media and in public. How can you then expect your employers to take you seriously. You could always take 89 seriously. He was about that business not the life. Hardy? Not so much.

Report: Panthers Not Expected To Bring Back Hardy
L-TownCat replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Until our team stops carrying the torch for the NFL we will never win anything. How has Jerry's loyalty rewarded Carolina fans? How many new trophy cases have we needed because we just need those robots that don't act like people act. You can't give a kid 10 million dollars, throw hot chicks, booze, steroids, and drugs at them and expect to get straight laced choir boys. Who's kidding who here? It's like a bad practical joke. -

2015 Huddle mock offseason trade thread
L-TownCat replied to DaCityKats's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bengals have Andy Dalton on the block. Will accept nothing less than PB&J "WITH" potato chips. Flavor of chips is negotiable. EDIT: Just to clarify the Bengals realistically wouldn't trade Dalton. I thought the PB&J was a dead giveaway. My Bad. -

Lots of RT's got beat like a drum by Seattle. He aint dancing to canton, but he should be able to keep Cam upright. We have to make Cam comfortable that his blind side isnt gonna get him killed. -

Sigh* I didn't mean for this little convo to get so serious. I don't even know who the kid this thread is about is! Never heard of him, never even seen a picture. My point was a generality. We don't take risks when it comes to character concerns, real, fake or otherwise. I'm done now. -

L-TownCat replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ok the target keeps moving so it's difficult to know where to aim. The point is this org doesn't take risks on character issues. That's it. Nothing more. I'm not attacking the org it's my opinion backed by 20 years of watching this team operate. Your view is different. No biggie. I'm not gonna concede that this team has a win at all cost mentality because I've never seen this team do that. The closest was the short run of riverboat Ron 4th downs. -
Dorial Green-Beckham: If he falls to us on the clock in 2nd
L-TownCat replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Haha, it's a war on two fronts. I might get confused about which thread we are arguing in but I'll give it a try. That's not what I said Mr. Scot. If two players are there for us, one is so-so talent wise but has high character he would be selected over the more talented player with character concerns. Even if this is not 100% accurate it sure is the perception that the front office wishes to convey. G-man has an incredible eye for talent but even he knows not to bring in future Cincinnati Bengals to Charlotte. Big Cat don't won't no scrubs. -
4 Things Greg Hardy Must Do to Remain a Panther
L-TownCat replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Let's be real here, I'm not for signing him to a CJ-esque deal, I'm not even saying we give him a long term deal. Why not have him come back, play one year with a clean nose and then renegotiate. That's not so bad now is it? He screws up, he's gone, he balls, we win! Then with another year to see what we have in Ealy we may not even need Hardy.
