  1. What value does David Newton bring? All he does is regurgitate information provided here and other sources. No real insight or analysis provided that we don’t already know. He’s supposedly an insider without real insider knowledge.
  2. A lot is going to depend on how much cap space we can muster up. Right now, we don’t have as much as we thought. We’re going to have to restructure, extend, and/or cut a number of guys. We should use that money to go after ILBs and an OLB. We can take care of the rest of our needs via draft.
  3. Considering how expensive our O-line is and how little Cap room we have, I bet they let Mays walk (unless he wants to return on a discount). I’m betting they resign Corbett and Christensen and let them battle Samac for the starting C spot. Also, I think they kick the can down the road again via draft since we have so many needs.
  4. Darnold was not going to succeed here. He needed time to develop (which he got at SF) and he needed an elite supporting cast (which he got after he left here).
  5. Stick with XL. Coleman’s issues are worse.
  6. It depends. The cap money is there if they want to go all in this year. We can restructure our most expensive players and also extend some of our upcoming free agents to clear a lot of room (if they want to). I imagine they will do this with a few guys, but not everyone, as it will put us in a bind beyond 2026.
  7. We might have inched past the Rams with Theilen as he might of helped us convert some of those 3rd and 4th downs. However, we likely wouldn’t have seen the emergence of Coker this year with Theilen taking his snaps away. The fact that we got picks for a retiring receiver is the real silver lining here.
  8. Ding ding ding. Some people here aren’t old enough to remember. Alex Smith was considered a bust for years. He didn’t really start figuring it out until he was about 28 when he went to the Chiefs.
  9. The Ickey injury changes our offseason plans. We’re probably going to have to settle at bringing back more of these guys since it’s likely we’ll have to draft a round 1 offensive tackle.
  10. Sadly this changes our offseason plans. We now have to draft an OT at 19. Not just because of Ickey, but because Moton is getting old as well. Assuming Ickey bounces back, the new OT can slide into Moton’s spot when he’s done. I wanted a pass rusher, but now this issue takes precedence. We’re going to have to find one along with an ILB in FA. Also, bring back Yosh and Brady for depth.
  11. He got drafted because he played at South Carolina and is from the area. This has been common theme for awhile to reach for a guy because he’s local. We need to honestly get away from constantly targeting USC players because it rarely works out. JC is one of the few that actually panned out.
  12. He’s an exclusive rights FA, which means he can only play for us and his contract is set in stone. He cannot negotiate salary or play elsewhere unless we choose not to resign. No brainer to keep at a cheap rate. We resign to market rates down the road. As for Legette, it’s just a matter of time before he’s shown the door. He has 2 more seasons with us left unless we trade him. At this point, it’s unlikely he develops into anything more than a 3rd receiver.
  13. Losing out on Milton Williams hurt us and it’s showing. We put that money towards Turk and Bobby Brown and they both are underperforming. It may just be a scheme issue with Turk, he thrived in the 4-3, but not so much in 3-4. Bobby brown just seems like an expensive backup who’s only good against the run.
  14. Yeah, I would consider trading Thielen as well. I have a feeling they wont considering they just gave him a pay bump. I would hang on to Renfrow, because he’s can essentially replace Thielen as the old reliable WR (who is retiring after this year anyway).
  15. Honestly, let’s dangle David Moore (who probably wont make the team) as trade bait for a ILB to a WR needy team. Nothing to lose. No way you give up Coker for one.
  16. Giving up a young promising player in his 2nd year on a cheap contract for a guy on an expiring contract whose current team doesn’t seem to want long term is dumb idea. We could honestly give up a lot less for him if you want him so badly.
  17. I swear Canales won’t say a bad thing about anybody. He loves em all.
  18. Is Icky in the discussion as being a top-tier LT? I know he had rough rookie year, but improved last season. Unless he grows into a top-tier LT, why would we pay him as such?
  19. I wonder if we even made a phone call. We are not deep at LB and 4 million isn’t that much for a starter these days. Heck, he might of taken less to come home.
  20. I’m not sure Jewell is better than Pratt at this point. Jewell is under contract for another year, but his cap hit being what it is, I think this is his last year with us. Pratt could replace him.
