I totally get that some people are on here 24x7...

I can understand they want to read new insights, new articles, and new takes...

But locking or moving threads because one is tired of a subject seems to directly contradict what the forum is about.

I mean seriously, if you dont want to read 'another post' about ~whatever~ than friggin dont read it, or if you have to share your h8 than do what the jerks do and just post 'do we have to have another post on blah blah blah'.

1000 threads about he who shall not be mentioned, need to be moved, locked and burned. And posters of said threads need to be quartered! And that all I have to say about that...

That's just crazy. What if SI.com does an article and it says Vick wants to play in carolina? Dont post it because we hit your '1000' post about it?

Tell me what is just SO hard to not read a post.

It's like the argument for censorship in music. Society wants to control something another group wants to hear - one simply cant turn the radio off, instead they want to say NONE or NO ONE shall listen.

Whatever.

Because it makes it easier to read the forums when you lock/move/delete repeat threads.

How about you do a search for whatever you want to read about? Chances are, it's already been made.

And if it's something recent, or about vick? Chances are there is likely 3 threads about it ON THE FIRST PAGE STILL. Just take the time to at least scan the first page or two, or maybe do a search. It's not hard.

locking threads doesn't stop any discussion. It focuses the discussion. This morning there were already 6 threads about Kemo's injury on the front page. In every one of those threads "someone" came up with the original idea to move Brayton to DT exclusively. Anyone who came to the site with concerns about the injury and who took the time to read the existing threads would have seen these "original thoughts" first hand.

But instead, someone who has not read any of the threads decides that moving Brayton is his own unique "idea" and decides to start his own thread. IMO this is a perfect example of what mods are supposed to do. Nothing against this guy, his intentions were good...but he was lazy. Mods are at war against lazy posters.

It's great to contribute to a forum, but the whole definition of "forum" is that it is a two way street. If you want to contribute....Read First.... then post an opinion. Posting your opinion without reading associated threads is arrogant and rude.

Merging posts with the same topic is fine - it really helps focus discussions. I am very appreciative of the mods here.

Locking threads because one is tired of reading about it is not.

If a post has a link to a site that has an article or interview with a Panther - that is pretty awesome. Maybe not as awesome about reading about Rosie's turd, but the wrong one got locked.

People should be entitled to their own opinion yes, but do we really need to hear things like vick coming here knowing that we don't have the money or the personal that wants him? Please...... More interestin things to talk about

poo, we had to read thread after thread about peppers. those were not locked or moved.

    • Going from the 32nd to 27th ranked QB is a huge achievement indeed.
    • I do expect the offense to fall back to earth next year if everything stays the same.  It is kinda like how the Panthers and even now the Chiefs won in the past.  Winning many close, coin flip games.  It never lasts from season to season usually.
    • Biased is one way of putting it. The NFL is an entertainment product in the strictest legal sense. Although I might yell it out on game days, I do not believe the games are outright “rigged” meaning there is one team that is going to win no matter what happens. It’s impossible. There’s too much variance in the game that can prevent a truly rigged game from happening unless there was cooperation from many parties involved. What I am thoroughly convinced happens is that the NFL and referees “manage” the games towards certain outcomes. And that is done primarily through referee crew choice however I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more going on behind the curtain.  The NFL uses the officials statistical tendencies to call penalties is to keep games close to drive user engagement. For example, If a crew tends to call more false start penalties, and there’s a game between a heavy pass offense where the NFL would like to manufacture a close game where it might have potential to be a blowout, then they’ll assign a crew that will slow that offense down and keep the game close.  There is an insane amount of marketing and now sports betting money that is married to the NFL economic ecosystem. To think this whole system is fair when the referee union has no outward accountability structure for poor performance is just naive. It’s closer to the WWE than outward appearances suggest, but it’s not a fully scripted outcome either. So for those who say “stop watching” if you don’t want to watch a “rigged” game, it’s an entertainment product. You can still be entertained by it, even if it’s not as fair as a truly merit based sporting event.
