Chiefs interested in trading B. Flowers

Not sure what his cap number is this year, but it has to be 6 million+, meaning there is no way we can afford him.  Another small corner who struggles to play face to face with his man.  The next generation of corner is 6+ feet and strong, Seattle is showing that, and in a division with Vincent Jackson, Colston, Graham, and Julio, that should be more evident then ever.

Idk what his salary is, and may be getting paid too much, but the guy is a beast corner

From the link...

Flowers struggled mightily in DC Bob Sutton's press-man scheme last season, grading out as a bottom-15 cover corner at PFF. He allowed a 66.7 percent completion rate, 846 yards, and four touchdowns in his coverage, while QBs had a 103.9 rating throwing at him. Flowers has three years left on a six-year, $49.35 million deal and may be difficult to move. At 5-foot-9 and 187 pounds, he's best suited to fill the slot role.

Also rumored that the Chiefs are having great difficulty signing Alex Smith to new deal and could be interested in a QB.  Probably just smoke.

Smith has probably already agreed to a deal, but they are keeping under wraps until after the draft just to add intrigue and misdirection

It shows what his salary is.

Do you think he's worth that kind of salary?

(money the team doesn't have to spare, by the way)

No not the salary. I understand that perspective.

I think he is a good CB and is worth good CB money. He is being paid great CB money. Especially considering our financial situation, and the physical defense we play, he isn't a good fit here.

A reasonable contract and the right system, and he is a top 10 corner.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
