Off the base salary? Well that's a little more interesting then. Thanks.

Not quite that good, we'd just pay the base salaries + his yearly roster bonuses.

2014: $7.5m

2015: $11.5m

2016: $12m

You'd think Getts would also hard line him into a restructure to get those higher bases down. This year would be manageable, but the last two are difficult.

Example: Next offseason we could convert like $10m of the last two years into a signing bonus and add 3 dummy years a la Cotchery. Thus making his yearly hits...

2014: $7.5m (unchanged)

2015: $8.5m

2016: $9m

2017: $2m (dummy)

2018: $2m (dummy)

2019: $2m (dummy)

$8-9 million a year is just too much for a 33 year old receiver.

It would be an interesting kick the tires kind of thing, but as previously mentioned Hardy would have to be traded this offseason... or some maneuvering around a few contracts like DeAngelo William's and another small contract.

According to Over the Cap the Panthers are $5 mil under the cap, cutting D-Will right now saves $4 mil for this year bringing that total to $9 mil and Johnson's contract for this year is at $10 mil (I think).

may have been answered already, but I think cutting DWill saves us 2 million (I could be wrong), and CJ definitely is getting 16million this year..  17 next and then 12 the year after.
