NFL Experts Analysts and Writers that are going to hurt their credibility this year

I noticed that every year people talk about how teams or players are going to take a step back. Why not discuss how good this info is that we've been getting and in turn talk about who's going to have to do the most backpedaling this upcoming year. I thought I would reserve this thread for all the shockingly bad assessments that "Experts" give so that we can refer back to it mid season and have lots of laughs. . . again

My money is on Adam Schein. Clearly the most clueless and useless member of the nfl xm broadcast team. Im not sure what else he does but suffice to say that listening to him for more than 30 minutes will leave you with less respect for anyone who calls himself a radio host. He makes the whole sports show concept feel like if you just string words together that other people say perpetually that you can actually count the seconds until listeners just want to kill themselves. . . twice for redundancy out of respect for the host.

Still, he doesnt just copy other people's bad points, he has plenty of his own horrible predictions. Here's one of his poorly thought out articles from last year entitled:

Carolina going nowhere with Cam Newton and Ron Rivera

Since then he's admitted that he's wrong . . mostly, but then again that doesnt really matter does it? It was still a dumb article and admitting it simply confirms that more right?

Here's another awful prediction of his:

Super Bowl XLVIII prediction: Atlanta Falcons-Houston Texans

Well, that one didnt turn out to well either since the Falcons finished with 4 wins and "DEAR LAWD HELP ME HELP ME" losses while the Texans finished two and "OMG PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!"

Schein's work has mostly always been this bad since his first days in the field. I've seen no growth in his knowledge of the subject and with the latest round of articles and "predictions" from 2013 I am inclined to say that his downhill trend will continue. He will continue to be a disappointment as an analyst and likely take another huge hit to his credibility this year. I dont know if he can continue to hold a job if he doesnt improve his knowledge of the game. I expect Adam Schein to take the biggest step back as a sports analyst this year.

Who do you think will disappoint more than him?

That's these guys' jobs.  No one is going to be 100% right. It's impossible.  Their credibility is not going to be hurt due to inaccurate prognostications. It's par for the course.  Their credibility gets hurt when they do bad reporting.

Remember Nawrocki's scathing scouting reports of Newton that turned out to look pretty bad? That makes an analyst lose credibility. All that fake smile business galls me to this day.

The point of the thread is not to highlight who isnt 100%. It is to highlight who is below average compared to others at their job and will continue that trend by writing poorly thought out articles and slinging feces against the wall.

Do you really think that if someone said "Peyton Manning sucks" last year, that they didnt take a hit to their cred?

Then you can fill these pages for days.

They're all below average. None of these guys actually know what they're talking about, including the experts.

The prediction business has a very low success rate, and is not an easy game. So in that respect, Top Dog is right. However, I know where you're coming from. Why do people go out on a limb so much, if they're always wrong or look stupid? Well, they gotta have something to talk about. And many try to attract attention in different ways.

Plus (with all due respect), I know we something to to talk about; but who cares what Adam Schein wrote during last season. Give us the new stuff (and even that can get old, so far away from the seasons start). Lol

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
