UPDATE: McBob Signs With Heat

Recommended Posts

I honestly think it's not really a loss. Our chemistry might take a slight hit early on bc the guys were used to him, but Cody displayed some nice drive and dish ability last year, and was able to put the ball on the floor occasionally. Cody didn't ever show that long range consistency last season, but he may develop it before next season. Regardless, if Vonleh has a smooth transition, he seems to be able to fill all of the gaps - passing, handling, shooting, AND he's more athletic.

I'm fine with signing Kris Humphries.

He's proved that when he gets minutes he can be productive.

In 2010 with the Nets he averaged 10 ppg, 10 rpg, 1 apg, and 1 bpg in 28 mpg.

Being that Clifford likes to let rookies adjust to the NBA life I could see Humphries getting 30 mpg in our system and Vonleh picking up the extra 18 minutes. If he would take a 2yr/9.8 mil deal with a player option in the 2nd year, I think we should go for it.

Or we could just pray that Zeller has developed, but personally I think his future is at the back-up center position.

Like most on here I did want him back, but not at over $7 million a season. I think we have the talent on the roster to take the hit on him not coming back. Vonleh is big, athletic and talented; and so is Zeller. Maybe a bigger role for both players will help their development and have a positive effect on the team?

The only other scenario is if we find a free agent PF. Would Pau Gasol or Chris Bosh consider the Hornets? Or we could look at a player like Humphries or Ed Davis, both could play a role.

I wanted him back- only because Cho and the team wanted him back.. there were times last year i was outraged at him and couldnt wait for a replacement to be found.. now that he is gone AND for that amount of money- i can say im happy, but we do now need to make a move in the near future.. there were times Zeller was way more effective coming off the bench and if you equated his minutes into starter minutes, he woulda been balling compared to McBob

McBob-- 8.5 ppg.. 4.3 apg.. 4.5 rpg

Hump--- 8.5 ppg.. 1.0 apg.. 5.9 rpg

Marvin-- 9.1 ppg.. 1.0 apg.. 5.1 rpg

-----------------------------------------

C.Zeller-- 6.0 ppg.. 1.0 apg.. 4.3 rpg

just FYI..

I certainly hope so. I can't wait for those fake ass fans to get stuck with a shitty team again. And with McBob going there in hopes of joining up with LeBron, it would be awesome if LeBron and Bosh actually leave.

I said long ago, I wanted LeBron to go back to Cleveland and win there. If he does that and we can't win it, I would pull for Cleveland to just because those fans have been through so much. And again, seeing Miami and all their "diehard" fans suffer would be awesome.

The great part is, even if they all left, about 60% of season ticket holders are on the hook for the next two years.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
