Hardy's trial set for Tuesday

Captain Morgan

Hope he gets off. Given, he probably did assault her, but at the same time I'm sure she assaulted him too, so fingers crossed that it can just be written off as a shitty situation all around, and everyone can move on from it.

If he does get charged though, I couldn't see him getting suspended for more than a game or two by Goodell, especially with the hammer waiting to fall on Ray Rice too (who will probably get closer to a 4 game imo). If he sits a couple games, we may see our second rounder in action sooner than we thought, with Alexander being out 4 games too. I think we'd be fine rolling with Ealy and CJ week 1 against the Bucs, but we'll definitely need the Kraken week 2 in order to not give Stafford any time to find Megatron.

Our DE situation is gonna be interesting next year with our cap situation, should be alot of fun to watch them this year though

yeah, with Cam and Luke getting ready to be paid, it will be a miracle if Getty can keep Greg if he wants to.

But this year will be amazing.  Grab some popcorn and watch what may be one of the best front 7's ever.

Hardy is walking after the season and that's ok. This is why JR hired a GM like Gettleman. Gettleman has already started getting ready for next year by re-signing Addison and drafting Kony Ealy.

could be CJ..  or both stay...  crazy to imagine huh....

and they will be pissed here because they thought the stud DE was a unquestioned investment.... top priority so to say. you don't keep adding a position without creating a backup plan. I like Greg but this was some bonehead careless crap to get involved in. wish him the best in this situation but even if it works in his favor will he calm down? i think not. time will tell but I still say we can't blow our future budget if any on him.

I don't know that Hardy walks but you are right that Gettleman has put the team in a good position should one or both of his ends need to depart next season.  I think next offseason should be interesting though considering both he and CJ can be let go.  Wondering if something could be done with CJ's contract to make it more cap friendly without mortgaging the future and minimizing his "loss".  Suspect this may depend on how the market looks and its a whole off season away but I think starting Tuesday everything that happens is extremely relevant regarding both CJ and Hardy's future with the team.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
