Bonnell: Hornets Are Not Pursing Shawn Marion

Did he really tweet that the name change wouldn't happen?

He always seemed weirdly bitter about the possibility of a name change, and I could never figure out why.  Even other guys at the Observer like Sorensen would write these stories about what a good idea the change was, and how much the name meant to the community.  But Bonnell always just blew it off and acted like the whole thing didn't matter.  I never understood it.  (I'll add this was before the name change was made official...back when it was all speculation after New Orleans announced their change.)

    • Here's hoping he heals up well. Might be an opponent of ours, but no reason to wish harm to the fellow. And yeah, I think it's probably unlikely he'll be back for this season. He's going to need time to heal up and rehab.
    • If you end up with a starting center and a good back up 2 from the draft it's still a good class even if Kon is a bust. I agree and wanted Johnson or honestly if you knew you were getting the other 3 guys I would have taken Bailey and crossed my fingers. I just want a competive basketball team don't really care about misses in the draft as long as we are hitting on some guys. That said it's one game give the guy some time
    • Yeah, we've been the worst team in the league in the Tepper era. Honestly probably accurate. The games I've been to have been pretty pathetic and I don't blame the fanbase for it. Suck begets suck.
