Two things popped out on this for me.

Benjamin has made more spectacular catches in his first few weeks of camp than arguably any receiver in Carolina history.

Smitty?

1. Kalil laughed when I asked him about all the questions surrounding the restructured offensive line, saying the line has been a question mark since he arrived eight years ago. The difference is Carolina had Jordan Gross at left tackle all those years. The Panthers don't now. Regardless of how the battle between Byron Bell and Nate Chandler shakes out to replace Gross, Carolina will have two undrafted players starting at the tackle positions because the other will start on the right side. No other team probably can -- or wants to -- say that.

Didnt realize Kalil has been here that long.

Besides those article was pretty spot on.

A bit of info on our man Nate Chandler...

Nate was a California kid. He actually projected as a TE when he was a high profile national recruit coming out of high school. A big athletic kid with good hands. He choose to stay close to home when he signed with UCLA.

People who follow college football on the west coast may know better than me but I think Jim Mora became the HC there at some point during Nates college career.

Anyway.. After a redshirt season Nate started as an OT as a frosh then moved to TE as a soph. Due to his size and athletic ability and the needs of the team Nate switched sides his JR year playing inside and outside d line.

Nate Chandler has shown a maturity and selflessness to change positions and also had the ability to have some success. He's a smart player and it was likely all of these qualities with diverse experiences and versatility that made our man Ron fall for him back when no one knew who he was or why we kept him around as a UDFA.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
