Have any legitimate veteran lineman been cut yet?

I know final cuts will be saturday/sunday, but I'm interested in keeping an eye out. We all know we need depth, but I haven't seen if anyone worth a damn has been dropped yet. I don't care if he's 35 and wants to retire, we need something for atleast this year.

you'll be sure to be mad/disappointed.

Gettleman/Rivera won't come out and bash the O-line and say things like "it's clear we need an upgrade". They are going to walk the line and say exactly what has been said thus far. If you don't think that they will take a shot at upgrading our roster if the situation presents itself, then you're wrong.

The question is really if a clear upgrade at tackle becomes available, and if we can afford it with our current salary cap debacle. I think there is probably around a 40% chance we bring in o-line help before the season starts.

If we don't then I think the situation will turn out a lot like the 2011 season at the DT position. After Ron Edwards went down the consistent sentiment was dear god we can't really be entering the season with two rookie DT's, but that is exactly what happened.

my peraonal feelings of the line has heen more in line with the masses.

Aftrr hearing that they really like their top 8, the only way I see them bringing in somebody is if we are ravaged by injuries along the oline.

I don't care that we disagree. I just feel I'm being a bit.more realistic than most.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
